(SOLVED) Signal issues sice 4.3 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
since the update to Android 4.3 I'm experiencing some signal issues which makes me think about sending the phone to HTC.
First, after booting up the phone it connects to the GSM/3G network but after a minute or two it looses the signal for a while.
Second, every time i turn on WiFi the phone disconnects from the GSM/3G network. I'm not talking about switching from mobile data to WiFi, i'm talking about disconnecting from the mobile network at all!!! It says "no signal" and i get a little "x" displayed at the status bar every time i turn on WiFi.
These issues had not been present with Android 4.2.2 but with 4.3 it's just annoying.
I tried to avoid this by turning off the energy saving option but it's still the same.
Anyone with the same problem or even a solution?
Regards!

Phone goes in Unreachable state when power saver is ON after upgrading to 4.3
Hello All,
After upgrading my phone to Android 4.3, i am facing a problem i.e.when in built power saver mode is ON or any other third party application for power saving is activated, then when i am using my phone on 3G it works just fine but after some time when i put the phone in idle mode (screen lock & not using the phone) after some time when i again try to use my phone , my phone's data connection couldn`t start, and when i try to manually switch on the data connection through setting, it shows "Turning On.." & remains in this state. And during this scenario my phone goes in unreachable state, i have to restart my phone to make it working.
Pls help, is there any workaround to eradicate this problem, Am i the only one facing this problem or it is problem in all HTC one after upgrade to 4.3.
Thanks.

I bought a factory SIM unlocked HTC one with CID_102 and I'm using it with an austrian tele.ring SIM card. I didn't perform any software/bootloader/CID or whatever modification at all. I think the device has been shipped with Android 4.1.2, i don't remember. After Android 4.3 OTA update these problems occured. Before 4.3 OTA update i performed the 4.2.2 OTA update and used the phone for a while without any problems at all, until 4.3 OTA was available. Since then these signal issues make me crazy. According to system info the baseband version is 4A.21.3263.04_10.38m.1157.04L and the build number is 3.62.401.1 CL264544
If you need more info let me know!
Regards!
PS: I also performed a factory reset, but it's still the same.

Finally, there was a quite simple solution for this issue. I switched from "GSM/WCDMA/LTE automatic" to "GSM/WCDMA automatic" and this problem didn't occur any more.

[Q] HTC One 801n - 4.2.2 update - WiFi issue

Howdy folks,
I received the HTC One (801n) earlier today. It arrived with 4.1.2.
Explored it for a few minutes, although I did not set it up fully - assuming I'd have to do it all over again following a 4.2.x update (I am coming from the HTC Desire, btw).
The WiFi was connecting without issues, then. I was also able to download the official 4.2.2 update from HTC servers.
The update was executed successfully - and surprisingly - I did not have to set-up the device from scratch. I then happened to notice that the phone would not connect to the WiFi network. I have my old Desire beside me (running a 4.2.2 custom ROM) and it has never faced those issues.
For a moment, I thought it was a hardware defect - but I recalled that the update from 4.1.2 was done OTA on the same WiFi network. I am, therefore, guessing it is a 4.2.2 bug.
Unfortunately, Google searches did not show any such issue specific to the One. However, there were 4.2.2-and-WiFi related issues in the One X.
I have tried a few full-resets in vain. Could someone please offer an insight?
Thanks, in advance, for your time/help.

Try removing the network in wifi settings and then reconnecting from new, it's not a issue with 4.2.2 causing this.
If that fails then after a base update (4.1.2 to 4.2.2) a factory reset is sometimes required after the update but this will mean having to set everything up again.

Thank you for the response. Did that, mate.
I guess you mean - 'forget' network and reconnect afresh? Yep, tried that. And did the factory reset too - to no avail.
Searched threads here, guess this is a first - in the meanwhile, I'll check out other Google results which indicated similar issues with the One X. Never owned one before, but shouldn't be all that different.

[Q] Tethering Problem

Hey guys,
I have a Z1 C903, which doesn't work as a wifi tether nor bluetooth tether. I can turn it on, and other devices can see it, however when trying to connect, the signal drops completely.
If I wait the signal will restart and become full strength, where I will need to manually connect, which proceeds to the signal disappearing again. I've tried unsecure, wpa2, wpa to which I have no luck either. Devices such as laptop will say limited connection, whereas android tablets and phones will refuse to connect and will say "Saved, secured with WPA2" or something else if i change the password method.
I've tried searching for any reports of wifi tethering not working, but the problems seem to be different from my situation.
More details on my device:
It has an unlocked bootloader
Now running Paranoid android
Problem occurred on stock 4.3, nut 4.4 (I assumed it was a glitch on Sony's drivers, and have waited for months now for a patch)
Could a faulty TA do this?
Any ideas?
Am I f***ed?
Cheers

Flash your phone by flash tools including wipe apps log and cache and system
It should solve your problem
And of course first re-lock your BL and flash to stock Rom

Sorry about late reply, I am out in urban areas without internet connection. I'll try doing this tonight.
Am I right in assuming all Z1 CM ROMs have this problem, if I must install a stock-based ROM?

Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you
You should use stock rom

Go here and fun your phone model and download the version and region you want

You can try to change the name of your phone (Network SSID) to a simpler form instead of default.
I got it working
I got it working thanks to your suggestion, Saeed.
I flashed the stock ftf from the mega thread and that restored my tethering capabilities. I then proceeded to reinstall the ParanoidRom and now the tethering works as well.
I'm not sure what happened, but I'd assume something went wrong when upgrading to 4.3 and the problem stayed when I then upgraded again to 4.4 and then to paranoid.
Thanks

(T) Carrier Data not working on 4.3, 4.0 and 4.1 on a bootloop

For some reason, on a flashed 4.3 Xperia T the 3g doesn't work. Also, a bug that I have noticed on this firmware: when you switch the language to another(macedonian, specifically), the network that appears when you pull down the notification bar reads "no service". Calls and SMS are received as usual.
However, when I flash 4.0 or 4.1, when I boot the phone, it gets to the twirling colors, stutters halfway for a second and turns off for a second, and boots again by itself. I have turned the phone off by Volume up + Power until 3 vibrations, however I am not able to fix this.
Flashing 4.3 again makes it work as written in the first paragraph.
BTW, I only formatted cache with flashtool. Also in that tab, the "appslog" checkmark appears. Googling found nothing.
For no service problem.. there are a lot of users that have that bug..also on sony forum.. check my post for a tempory fix:.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53018845&postcount=36
For a problem with 3g.. try another firmware , also have you try another sim?

I said in my original post that when I change the language the "no service" problem appears.
I've tried ~3 4.3 ftfs and ~2-3 4.1 and 1 4.0 ftf and nothing worked 100%.
Thanks for reading though!
Try flashing custom rom. When i had stock 4.3 then carrier data wasn't working for me either, but when i flashed custom rom it fixed problem.

XT1058 dead?WiFi

Hi guys i have a story to tell you... my WiFi doesn't work on XT1058 5.1... i thought was a Lollipop related issue so wanted to downgrade to 4.4.4 and see if the problem really was related to android version, but it isn't. I downgraded successfully from 5.1 to 4.4.4 with your tutorial, but the WiFi problem persist. Now i know i'm really screwed up becouse i tried i believe everything possible...
- Airplane mode
- Factory reset
- Cache wipe
- Full wipe
- Custom rom
- Custom kernel
- Android 4.4.4
- Different AP's and routers
- Delete wpa supplicant conf...
So i don't know what to do. Te specific problem is that WiFi can see available networks, but randomly some of them disappear and others show up, and when i try to connect for ex. to my home network, it says "connecting" and then "saved", with all networks happens the same. Does anyone has a clue, or maybe somebody in the same situation?
I have similar problem before. I tried returned to full 4.4.2 stock and no go.
In the end , I send it to moto and they replace me a new one which costs me 100 bucks.
I think It could be a hardware problem and might caused by running wifi hotspot too often...

Internet Connection Unstable (WiFi) Since Recent OTA Update

My phone is a T-Mobile branded HTC One M7 with Android 5.0.2. A few days ago, I received an OTA Android update and since then, WiFi has been unusable.
When WiFi is turned on, the phone sees and connects to the WiFi access point, but a error message pops up, "Internet Connection Unstable" with the SSID of the access point displayed below.
I contacted HTC support and was advised to wipe the cache partition. This did not work, and the next bit of advice was to do a factory reset on the phone. I'd like to avoid that if possible... has anyone else encountered this issue?
Thanks.
Earl
UPDATE: this turned out to be not a problem with the phone. I found a rogue DHCP server on the network that was causing the instability.
they might be right, a full reset is quite useful after a ota update (for HTC phones). After upgrading to lollipop I did have a couple of bugs (tho none as major as the one you're describing) and I had to do a factory reset to get everything working flawlessly.
And after trying to upgrade from stock 7.19.401.102 to 7.19.401.121 my m7 stopped working altogether, it got stuck in a bootloop at HTC's logo. I had to flash a nandroid backup I made when I was on KitKat and then upgrade to 7.19.401.102 lollipop, do a full reset, upgrade to 7.19.401.121, and then another reset. That fixed everything for me (maybe the factory resets weren't necessary in that case tho). But I no longer care about htc's stock roms to go through such trouble again.
HTC's ota update seem to have lots of bells and whistle (and annoyances) going about them, which is why I'm on 6.0.1 crdroid ROM.
try clearing the settings app data (from settings>apps) or the WiFi app data. There's no guarantee it'll work but it's better than having to do a full reset.
