Does anyone know how to take sprint number of the phone in about setting I don't want my old number there anymore
Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk
From what I remember selling Sprint phones, once a number is programmed into it, it stays until programmed with a different number.
It was like that on my Verizon phones too, except that the number would eventually fall off after several months of not being on network.

i dont under stand what you are asking did you leave sprint and take the phone to another carrier.
or
did you change your number with sprint. if so by updating your profile it should change everything to the correct information.
a little bit more info would help
It stays until reprogrammed as far as I know. Every time after my gf has upgraded a phone, I'll reset and reinstall stock firmware and the number and sprint pcs email remains in the settings

I will be receiving my unlocked Moto X (I think it will be an XT1058) on Monday but will probably not activate it for a week or so. Can I connect to wifi before I activate it with a carrier? On my Droids and Razrs there was a trick to bypassing the activation screen and connect to wifi. Since the Moto X is unlocked, I'm hoping this isn't required.

you shouldnt need to but worse case you throw in any old sim card to get past the activation then take it out.
but like i said you should not have any issues using it as a wifi phone for now
It also depends on the provider, many versions have no activation screen. I have updated and installed paid apps before ever putting a sim in a Moto X(Rogers XT1058).

i know my sprint one did not, so i think he will be ok. but then again i have never had a phone i could not use as a wifi phone.
If there is some type of set up screen, tapping each of the for corners of the screen, clockwise I believe, should get you past it.

I got my GSM unlocked one before I could activate it on T-Mobile. So for a week it was WiFi only. Got it all set up which was nice.

I am pretty confused.
I bought a used AT&T variant S5 from this lady on craigslist. I ask her questions about the phone, try and get a judge of her character, check the IMEI on Swappa, etc. The important parts checked out and the IMEI appears to be clean so I go ahead and purchase the phone. Since I use T-Mobile's prepaid plan, I have the phone unlocked and it works great - for a few days. Suddenly I get the MM # 6 Error and all network connections cease to work.I return to Swappa and check the IMEI and get the dreaded black box telling me the phone has been reported as lost or stolen. Bleh.
I am either victim to insurance fraud or I purchased a stolen phone from this lady BUT that is not why I am posting here. Fast forward a bit and it has been over 24 hours since the phone has been blacklisted and I am still obviously a little pissed off. I tried putting a GiffGaff sim in the phone but it's been ages since I have used that, so I get the SIM Not Provisioned Error. For some reason I thought I would try my wife's sim in the damn thing next just to see, obviously not expecting much better results (She has AT&T). I get full service. Taking the sim out of her iPhone 5S and putting it into my blacklisted AT&T S5 has returned full service to my phone somehow. I disabled Wifi and got full bars 4G LTE, successfully browse the internet, send text and MMS, and make a phone call.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm sure there is an explanation, but I haven't heard of this yet. I know when a T-Mobile phone is financed and blacklisted, it will still work with AT&T networks, but I haven't ever run into a scenario quite like the one I am having. Maybe there is a slight delay in AT&T having the device updated on it's blacklist vs T-Mobile, where the device is already not working. I did check the IMEI again and it is still blacklisted. Any thoughts?
TL;DR: Blacklisted AT&T S5 works (currently) on AT&T, not T-Mobile
I need someone to say they have seen this before...

It's not blacklisted if it works on Att.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
Yet the IMEI shows blacklisted for lost or stolen on T-Mobile? And they share the same database.

I guess my question is why the hell does this phone not work on T-Mobile? Could T-Mobile have mistakenly put this on the blacklist?
Sent from my C6833_GPe using XDA Free mobile app
Are you 100% sure the phone is natively an AT&T variant and not a Tmobile one? Tmobile variants can flash and at&T rom and have the device ID in settings changed as a result. boot to download mode and check the device ID
Well put it this way: The phone has an AT&T logo on the back, at the boot, and the sticker on the inside says SM-G900A. Also, the phone would bring up the NCK Unlock screen whenever I put in a T-Mobile sim prior to me unlocking it.
After unlock things worked great with T-Mobile, until I got the MM#6 error and check the IMEI again to find it was blacklisted.
Taking a picture now of download mode.

The reason your wife's sim card worked is the imei is not listed on your account. It takes a couple of hours to a couple days for the att network to check the imei and lock the account due to a lost or stolen device (blacklist). Once this happens your account gets locked and unusable until you remove the sim from the device and call att to restore service.

So the although the phone is showing up as blacklisted, it will continue to be usable until AT&T notices its being used by my wife's sim, at which point she will be locked out of her account until she calls to restore service? I have never heard of that.

Just because you may not have heard of it does not make it false. Trust me the info I have shared is the reason why. I have run into this multiple times.

Well its still alive and kicking on AT&Ts network. Your explanation would make more sense if it wasn't.

I have a Nexus 6 I bought from a 3rd party. Its a TMo variant so its Sim unlocked and whatnot. When I put my VZW Sim in I get LTE and such. I can't call nor send texts messages from said device. From what I get from threads on here I should request a new Sim card and stuff from VZW but if that doesn't work how would I go about fixing this issue. I mean I've already tried the whole calling the Verizon and having them elevate the case but that doesn't do anything. Eh. I mean I still have my M8 so I've been using that but it seems like this phone just doesn't want to work on VZW.
Are there any special things I should do to my phone to make it work. Or any special APNs I should use
Thanks
-ElChibo
Please could you describe your question in the thread title? Maybe something a bit more descriptive like "using Verizon sim in TMO N6 - no calls or sms"? That way you will target the people who may know the answer whilst saving people who don't the time spent on reading the thread?
Thanks for your consideration
The phone is going to be blocked via the IMEI.
I don't see it happening on Verizon. Maybe after they roll out the Nexus on their network we would know more.

Mine was purchased from Motorola and activated just fine on VZW. Used a cut down sim card from my last phone. Phone was purchased in November.

My N6 is from Sprint. Installed my Nano Verizon Sim and it works perfectly.

Yes direct from Google or Motorola has always worked. I have one from Google myself on Verizon.

This surprises me maybe Verizon has decided to stop being such douchebags.

The N6 is carrier unlocked except the AT&T version and that's easily remedied, it's got to be APN related. Try a ROM that includes all of the Verizon APN's like Chroma and see if that helps.
If you have a SIM that was already activated then there probably won't be a problem -- it should work fine in any N6 (except I hear the AT&T is network locked).
I have a co-worker that wants to go from Sprint to cricket when his contract is up. Hr wants to keep using his Nexus 6 but when he put his imei(esn) into the site it said it wasn't compatible.
I'm sure it has something to do with sprints esn number being 1 digit less than GSM carriers. Would this be in the firmware? Can i flash a factory image from Google fix this?
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
The IMEI of the Nexus 6 can be found on the SIM card tray at the top of the device. But he needn't worry, as the N6 works on Cricket, and in fact works on every carrier in the US. The only reason he had an issue on the site is the reason you said. CDMA ESN/MEID numbers are short one digit compared to the IMEI. Since he was missing a digit, the site would naturally return a "device incompatible" message.
When he pops in the Cricket SIM the N6 should find the APN in the firmware and set the APN appropriately. This would include resetting the ESN so it displays the IMEI. There should be no need to flash a new image, but it won't hurt either, especially with Android 7.0 being available.
I recently tried activating a Nexus 6 from AT&T to one of my existing Sprint lines. After Sim card switches, BYOD to SIMGLW446C and lots of support from a knowledgeable in-store tech it was determined that my phone was confirmed "activated" but it would not connect to the network.
The tech discovered the phone did not have a MIN nor did it list my phone number in the phone settings. They could not determine where the error was stemming from but told me the IMEI and ICCID were accurate and we confirmed the phone unlocked through ATT. (Unlocked two days prior to latest attempt at activating)
Nobody seems to know what is keeping this phone from functioning properly. Any input is greatly appreciated as I would love to have it in service. I have it listed for sale as AT&T but am starting to feel skeptical if there is just something wrong with it and shouldn't be selling it off for someone else to be disappointed.

Ok... I'm sure you made sure the IMEI that is printed somewhere... is not blacklisted...
Go grab the factory images and flash the newest radio from it using fastboot... See if that works...
If not... Flash the whole thing... Image at a time and see if that fixes it...

There is this:
Thanks for the input. I flashed a new factory image and it authenticated to Sprint's network just fine. It still wouldn't let me switch and activate online but no other issues aside from that.
