Hey,
i really don't know how to title this question, but i love flashing new roms and try a lot, so i'm looking for a software suite or an app, where i can backup my important stuff(Whats App, xda,Pictures, etc.) and then can flash a new rom and recover the apps and other stuff back, so that i have a new rom installed but with my old stuff on it.
Is there something like that ?

almost,
my contacts are synced via google
my notes are in evernote
my picture and videos are saved to external sd card ... shouldn't be wiped @Flashing new rom ?! better backup to pc ?
the problems are all the 20-30 apps i install for a few days and than wipe again, titanium is no option because i have no root on 4,3(UB)
Can i say whatsapp, that it should make the backup on external sd ?
If you don't have root how are you going to flash a new rom?

Without root youre screwed, in all fairness you haven't installed everything properly, with an unlocked bootloader you certainly should have Root access to get the most of your phone, otherwise whats the point.
Do it all again, attain root access and then do what the user said a little earlier, although i prefer google keep for notes, it's lighter.
Titanium is a must have.
Since the beginning I was using Titanium.
But somehow I came over to Nandroid Manager Pro witch IMHO is just perfect and easier to use...

Just out of interest are any of the active members of this forum considering creating a custom rom for the 2X?
Hopefully, because this is a crappy system you get out of the box. To many running apps that takes to much ram and slows down the system. To many pre-installed apps. So i'm really looking forward to a custom ROM. Does any one know how custom ROMS are made?
Well i hope lots of Devs get this phone as it is quite the powerhouse! Man i wish i knew how to make custom ROMs! there should be a dummys guide!! haha but yeah ive heard Paul O'Brien at Modoco is thinking of getting one.... now thats what you call support

SuperOneClick v1.7 worked fine, so my phone is now rooted
U can delete the apps. (Backups)
Or just rename them change ****.apk to ****.bak for example. Dont know if this will restore on reboot.
Maybe someone else can answer to this. Perm or temproot?

You can use rootexplorer to remove or move apk from /system/app. Preloaded fsecure is slowing down the phone, just delete it.
To make custom rom we need clockwork mod recovery on 2X
I have used z4root, and installed Titanium Backup. Is there any danger to uninstalling apps that are pre-installed?

No, you can disable lg home launcher from “home selector“ in the main menu. i have ADWlauncher instead of lg launcher and i don't see lg launcher anymore in system processes

What do you mean by "home selector" in the main menu? I don't have my x2 yet, so I suppose it's something special by LG? I don't know this setting from my HTC.
This is a general discussion thread for "Cyanogen Mod 10 (CM10)" for the Sony Xperia T (LT30p) aka "Mint"
Original Dev Thread Here
This is NOT for cm10.1 (4.2+ JB). A discussion thread for 10.1 is HERE
Credit to FXP team Bin4ry, Defer, Kali, Jerpelea
Also credit is due to many other Devs for their tireless work on CM and specifically for Sony devices including but not limited to:
Codeworkx, Androxyde, DoomLord, tilal6991, Entropy512....This list could go on but I'll stop here for now - pm me if you think i should add specific people.! (I don't actually know who all these wonderful people are!!!)
I have mailed people from time to time and found everyone here at XDA to be very helpful, but I have also seen people asking the same questions as me, just in the wrong places or without searching.
So this thread, like any other of it's kind, is just to try and direct a bit of this traffic away from the Development thread.
Please use this thread to ask questions, share knowledge or just state an opinion - so long as you are not inconsiderate, condescending or outright rude - anything goes!
We would all welcome insights and advice from seasoned users or indeed veteran developers, although FXP will most likely not read this often, if ever - so please don't ask them direct questions here!
Personally I don't know much at all about CM10, I am only on my 2nd smartphone having come from an Xperia X10 running CM7.2 - so I hope to learn stuff here too!
Thread Basics:
~~can I install this rom with a locked Bootloader~~ ~~NO~~
~~can you tell me when **** will be fixed~~ ~~NO~~
~~slow download, can you mirror?~~ ~~NO~~
~~can i use sony launcher/timescape/fb intergration on this ROM~~ ~~NO~~
~~can I ask a question?~~ ~~YES~ as someone once told me "Posing a question per se is not stupid. Posing a stupid question is"
Always back-up your current ROM
Nobody here is responsible if you mess your bond phone up, all ROM's, even the best ones, are used at YOUR OWN RISK
Logs, Screen shots, ROM version, apps used or conditions underpinning any questions usually result in quicker answers!
Please comment or mail me with any ideas to improve this thread, it's my 1st real attempt at trying to contribute in some small way to this wonderful community
FAQ:
1 where can I download the latest FXP release? download page on FXP site
2 How do I install? FIRST TIME : Follow this instruction
information about flashtool, fastboot, cwm recovery are widely available. you could Start here
__ 2.a If you already have unlocked your bootloader (which you will need to have done to use CM10 Duh!) AND already have a working Recovery, you only need to use the "install from SD card" option in recovery to install this Rom - thanks to schaggo for pointing this out. However:
__ 2.b It is known that if you are coming from a Stock based ROM you will probably need to format your SD card(s), apart from being time consuming this is not a big deal - just have a back-up of your card contents on your computer, format your card(s) from within the rom or with recovery, then copy your contents back to your card(s)
3. Where do I get Gapps? Try here, you need a 4.1 apps file

Good initiative! I installed CM10 after one month of using original ROM and after almost 2 weeks of CM10 I can say it was a wise decision. I am on FXP 150 and most of the issues are fixed. Still waiting for NFC (though I don't have the tags yet) but everything else is OK. What I miss is the original Album app of Xperia T from latest firmware. I tried to install it but it's not working for me (run the installer, the app is not seing the sd card, through CWM or copy to /system/app and changing the permissions, the app stops). Anyone tried? Any hints on how to make it working?
Battery is OK but I am using Google maps that is eating 40-50% of it. Any hints on how to decrease this and still use Maps?

have you formatted your SD card for use with CM? I read that people were having problems with ext.sd card storage and that you needed to back-up your files, wipe and format card in cwmRecovery and then transfer your files back - then you should be able to move apps to SD

Hello all.
Quick question about flashing the kernel.
When I first installed the rom I used the fastboot.exe in command prompt to install the boot.img file as per instruction on op.
Am I right in thinking if there's an update to the kernel I don't need to go through that process again because it will be flashed in cwm with the rom? Or will we be told to flash the new kernel using fastboot.exe in the changelog?
Cheers,
Lunar.

You usually are told when there is a new kernel to flash, changelog will say something about kernel update.
Cwm does not flash kernel, only Rom

Thanks for the info.
I just thought I remembered when I had the x10 the fxp were trying to work out a way of flashing kernels without flash mode. It was quite a risky process though.
Also it looked like fxp151 had a different boot.img to the one included in fxp148 (the first one I flashed), so I flashed the boot.img again from the later release and it had 141212 as the date.
Maybe just me.
Cheers for the info.

Fxp is not official Cm10 right?
Where is the official thread with a buglist / changelog of the stable Cm10 Version for example?
On get.cm I can download nightlies every day and the stable version too but I have no idea who is working on it and how the process is going...
I'm a bit confused since I thought codeworkx and others own this phone and are working in Cm10 support??

Managed to unlock, root and flash Android Revolution today. Everything went smoothly enough but I have a few questions:
1. Recovery screen has **TAMPERED** at the top, I assume this is normal?
2. I made a Nandroid backup, would I need to flash the recovery in the folder in order to restore to the backup or can I do it through CWM?
3. When I update to newer versions of the ROM (or any ROM in general) is there a way to keep all apps, photos, etc. as well as side loaded apps like XBMC?
4. Is there a tweak that gives me fine volume control? Phone is too loud sometimes...
5. Finally, any tweaks, mods, apps that require root that I'm missing out on? What's the best ones? This is my first ever Android device...
I appreciate any help, thanks!

Hi!
I was wondering, is it possible in some way to download the latest Android version from Google servers and somehow install the Nexus image on Z1?
I love my Z1, but I really, really, don't need the Sony stuff on it (Yeah, I'm a purist). All i need to function is the camera (and of course the necesseties like WLAN, BT, making a phonecall etc, but I assume these are "standard" drivers that will work?)

There's no way to cross flash other devices firmware. What you can do is root your phone and just delete the sony stuff you don't need.

In my Opinion when you will get a 4.3 or 4.4 Rooted and Deodexed Android and it satisfide your needs, then any Update is unecessary.
Stock is good.
Updates make huge changes and sometime they are not the right choice.
Like a new phone come on the market then is the same with Android.
You don't have to buy it.
