There is a massive thread in the Android apps forums here on xda for this purpose. They only have free versions though because offering paid versions is warez.

[REQ] Google maps apk

For some reason the rom I am using doesn't have the maps app with it, and I can't get it in the market either.. Can someone give me a copy of it?
Maps is a proprietary google app. I would suggest getting a rom that has it.
try downloading from the market an app called "market enabler" after that you may be able to download the maps app from the market. or take one of the numerous roms in the development forum and just extract out the maps.apk.
Maps was removed from the market.

This.
Or pull it from a ROM that has it.

apps I need to find..

I need Switch Pro widget but I can't find it on Market. I know it's paid, and went to app brain but can't buy/install it for some reason.
Also, what's the best widge/app for calendar and events?
you need to get marketenabler to be able to purchase apps if your not in the US / other market supported country.
Myself i use the default calendar widget, its good enuff.
I use Pure Calendar widget.
I use Smooth Calendar. It's free and simple.

The file you are downloading from their Google project site is actually a html file. Open this link with your browser http://uploaded.to/file/en3pg4 and download the file. Then install it on your device.
Or you can download it on your computer and install it via adb.
I really like "Android Agenda Widget". http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.roflharrison.agenda

Inverted Google Apps

Just figured I would post these over here as well. They should work on any hdpi resolution device.
Original Post
Apps that are available right now are
Google+ 1.0.6
Google Voice 4.2.32
Android Market 3.1.3
Gmail 2.3.5
Google Talk 1.3
Translate 2.1
Google Quick Search Box 1.1.2.102588
Google Docs 1.0.16
Google Reader 1.0.1
http://www.rujelus22.com/evo
Will the flashable.zip work on the nexus one with cm7? Really interested in this.

Thanks! a lot
This should work with any hdpi resolution device including the nexus one. I know it works on cm7 that is what I use.
The full all apps flashable needs to be updated though. Should be able to do that today sometime.
Just installed the Google+ and Google Reader apps and they look really great, thanks!
Do you have a twitter or something where you push notifications of updates? Or should we just keep regularly checking the website?

I will be getting something for that here soon. But right now just checking my site or the original post from the top link (I always post when new versions are available).
Ok I got a twitter and rss going now that will tell you about updates
Twitter
RSS
The RSS will always update first it is what is feeding the twitter.
When I make any changes to apps or my site I will be posting updates here.
Terrific, subscribed
I flashed the latest all apps zip and it appears that the only app that flashed correctly was the music app. I tried to download the Google + app off your website, but it came up as a map file. I also tried extracting the zip and installing the apk and changing permissions. And through all this all I could get was the music app to take. All of this is on CM7 Nexus S 4G.
Edit: nevermind I went back to the original thread and saw that the original apps need to be removed first.

I have no clue what you did because there is no music app in this. The files will download as apk now. you can also just rename the .man files to .apk.
Yeah that is odd. Don't know why the music widget changed. I just ended up extracting the zip with root explorer and installed them one by one. These look great. Following you on twitter to see what you do next. Keep up the great work.

Looks nice! Downloading them all
i cant get any of the flashables to take. every .zip (talk, market and the whole set) says it installed, but nothing changes. not sure why. NexusS4g. i can install the ones that you've got there as apk only but the two system apps dont work.
For the system ones you will need an app like root explorer and copy them into the system/app folder and change the permissions then reboot. Make sure you delete the old ones first. If you are not familiar with the permissions it should look like this.
X X O
X O O
X O O
The X being the box's that are checked. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the effort. The inverted translate has a small issue. In the top left corner there appears to be some writing that sits on top of itself. It says translate twice and you can barely read it. Has this been reported?

[GUIDE] Install Google Wallet on any Device and ALL Countries

******THIS IS FOR THE NEWEST GOOGLE WALLET (1.5-R79-v5), BUT THE METHOD IS THE SAME, JUST LINKS HAVE BEEN UPDATED******
******ALL CREDIT GOES TO b-reezy FOR HIS POST!******
EDIT August 8, 2012: The Guide has been edited for the new Google Wallet (Wallet-in-the Cloud, 1.5-R75-v6), this guide will hopefully (I'll try my best!) continue to update as Google Wallet updates
EDIT September 19, 2012: This Guide has been updated (links, etc.) for the latest Google Wallet, 1.5-R79-v5.
DON'T LIKE READING? WATCH MY SHORT VIDEO: http://youtube.com/watch?v=HtUBw4dCaNo[/B]
DIRECT DOWNLOAD THE LATEST GOOGLE WALLET VERSION HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1893059&stc=1&d=1366300473
*Note: This guide must be used at your OWN risk, although it has safely worked fine on different devices, I cannot guarantee this will work for you 100%*
*Please note: The supplied APK may have issues/errors, so please make sure to reset Google Wallet through the app itself (NOT the Settings app!) and then delete to clear the chance of any errors!*
I have typed up this guide from all the information I have gathered and I credit all those who I have gathered my info from, thank you contributors. Anyway, here is a quick and easy tutorial on installing Google Wallet on ALL devices with NFC in ALL countries, but it requires root, so I have supplied a very easy tutorial down below on root your Device. If you're already rooted then just move the files accordingly.
1) Have root, here are some recommended easy tutorials:
Root Method (always Up-to-date): http://goo.gl/r4GSZ
---------------------------------
2) Grab all the necessary files and put them anywhere on your phone (just remember where you put it, you'll need them later!) and here are the links, again, all credit goes to the original uploaders:
XDA Thread for the Gingerbread Method (Nexus S) - http://goo.gl/1uNIi
XDA for Google Wallet Patched APK for 4.x+ (may work for older updates) - http://d-h.st/VZi
If none of those Google Wallet files don't work, try this.
***Nexus S Gingerbread users WILL need the "NFC Fix" file from the XDA thread right above here). Also, ONLY 4.x+ user should continue with the rest of this tutorial, use the XDA Method link above to install on Gingerbread!***---------------------------------
3) [*REMEMBER*]: ONLY 4.x+ user should continue, 2.3 users should use the XDA Method link above] Use a root browser like "Root Browser Lite" (http://goo.gl/5XSB6) to transfer the files. Move the patched APK (found above) to the following TWO (2) locations (the same file, copied to TWO (2) locations):
[root]/data/app
and
[root]/system/app
---------------------------------
4) Now, change the permissions of the file in BOTH LOCATIONS to: xx-x--x-- A.K.A. rw-r--r--
---------------------------------
F.A.Q.
I can't find Google Wallet in the app drawer!
You need to defrost the Patched apk with Titanium Backup, but unfortunately you have to do it every reboot, but hey, it's a small price to pay for have Wallet in other countries!
To activate Google Prepaid Cards if they're still not working:
Using a file explorer (Like Root Browser Lite) Go to [root]/system/build.prop (the file)
---------------------------------
Find the lines that say:
ro.product.device
ro.product.name
---------------------------------
Change both of those lines to: htc_jewel and save.
---------------------------------
Reboot your phone, and try to activate prepaid card again. (Thanks to Roscopcoletrain, jayjay3333 and guitaristgba247 for the answer!)
OR
If you have a phone with a broken IMEI code, you won't be able to use Google Wallet on that phone, unfortunately.
How do users outside of the USA top up?
Visit the following sites here to get your prepaid card:
http://www.buyfrompowerseller.com/unblock-us-prepaid-card/ (Verified, safe, tested by me)
http://luckygiftcard.com/products.php?product=TrusstPay-Virtual-Visa
http://www.fortune51.com/aff/products/details/11/10-Preloaded-Virtual-Credit-Card-Reloadable
You may receive an e-mail with a link to register the card to a USA Address, make sure it's in a state like Delaware (any address in there, for example), because there is no state tax. If you'd like, you can even add it as it's own card itself rather than topping it up on the Google Card
OR
You can buy a Vanilla Prepaid MasterCard or Visa Prepaid Card and register with a USA address, then, go to the Google Wallet website, sign in, and add the card from there. Go to your phone, open Wallet, and match the information you entered online. You should now be able to use your card error-free!
How do I register my card with a USA Address?
Simply go to this website here and enter the information. The website is safe, I have tested it. When registering the card with a USA address, make sure you use a Delaware or Oregon address, as those states don't have state tax. I'm not going to post an address here, as I don't want to get sued, but a quick Google Maps search should give something!
The app is staying at the account setup up screen and just attempts endlessly to activate my Google account!
This is because phones like the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S2 phones are missing the secure library files needed to run Google Wallet, it stays stuck on the activating account screen, this has been test and confirmed, sorry! Hopefully in the future this is solved! (^^^If you're running CyanogenMod 10, try the solution above^^^)

*you do NOT "install" the app, you simply move the apk to two locations* Did you guys both move the stock one to another folder? Put the PATCHED apk in BOTH locations (/system/app AND /data/app)? Did you also set permissions for the apk in BOTH file locations? Finally, did you guys remove the data from the stock Wallet app (if you had the stock one installed prior) and then uninstall it or move the apk? Make sure that you AT LEAST put the apk in /system/app. Good luck you two, best of luck.

Well, if you can access your previous Google Wallet from a nandroid backup you can fix it, but in unfortunately you cannot because you HAVE TO reset Google Wallet from the app and then move on to install it some other time. I'm sorry.

Don't forget you will need to do this after EVERY reboot. Annoying but for a working Wallet in Canada I can't complain. Might as well defrost Google Sound Search while your there, although we can't buy the music.
What is the easiest method to add funds to the Google card? On the new app it shows my current credit but wants a US address. I don't want to lie and mess that all up.
Cheers.

Here in the States, they sell a Google gift card. It's probably not available in Canada, but perhaps someone could buy it for you. If it's like other top up cards, all you need is the secret numbers from an activated card.

Well I used a website here: http://www.buyfrompowerseller.com/unblock-us-prepaid-card/ It's a great website that let's you purchase MasterCard Prepaid gift cards, but they can be a little expensive, I got a $15 card for about $22 (after taxes and fees). After purchase, you will get an e-mail with a link that you can register the gift card with an address that has no state taxes, like Delaware, the state I registered an address with. I have not tried it yet, but going to the States in two weeks and gonna try it there. But good luck!

[Q] How do I install apps not supported from the Play Store?

Hello everyone,
I recently rooted my KF HD 8.9 and installed the Play Store. All is well and most of the apps I want installed without an issue.
However there's one app that I swear by that isn't "supported on this device". Chrome.
I ended up sideloading an APK I grabbed from the web but that's neither ideal and it's not a current version.
My question is:
Is there a way to bypass the "not supported" message via an app like Market Enabler?
OR
Is there another (I'd imagine legal) way to obtain the current APK from an alternate website?
Not sure if this will help you but I'll share my method. What I do is just download whatever app I need to my SGS1 and back it up with Titanium Backup. Then, I mount it to my PC and pull the .apk out of the TitaniumBackup folder and side load it. I did this with Nova Launcher and HD Widgets and so far everything is working wonderfully.

Nope, the 1mobile market app does the upgrade by itself.
It even upgrades sideloaded apps
btw... it will mark the kindle skype app as outdataded, do not, i repeat do not substitute the kindle skype with the market skype.
