[REQUEST] Sprint ROMs??? - Moto X Q&A

I can't find a single Sprint ROM in this forum except stock...
Verizon even uses CDMA and their bootloader I thought was more difficult to unlock as well..
I'm sitting here all rooted and bootloader unlocked on Sprint and can't flash anything except stock.
Any reason why/any devs working on Sprint ROMs?
Or are there any Sprint ROMs that I've just missed/are there any compatible (they all say VZW/GSM)?
-If not, please consider this a formal request :cyclops:
Thanks in advance!
***If there are any that are currently compatible please reply/list here for myself and others

Have you tried a Verizon rom on Sprint? I am sure a few things need tweaked but might be something to look at..

I've asked the same about US Cellular...it's just that no developer has surfaced on those carriers much for some reason... :what: (at least sprints still got more Dev going on then US Cellular) I'm unlocked as well. (Seems for no reason, though root is nice)

I have not because all of the ROMs say GSM variants or name Verizon specifically, as well as asking a few other sprint xda users and they all say the same thing- "I don't think there are any for Sprint right now except stock."
If you are recommending this, can you name one that would be the safest bet?
Thanks

Which ROM? Just to make you feel better, all the custom ROMs are not daily drivers cm11 has camera, sound and some her minor issues, gummy ROM has the same issues, so the stock ROM is by far the best ROM and xposed only makes it that much better

Honestly this phone is a stock style phone. If you want a more mods try using the Xposed framework and modules if you haven't already. Look for the Gravity box module and install. It allows for modification to your lockscreen, nav bar, status bar, reboot menu, quick tiles, clock, battery mods, pie controls, etc. I went back to stock rooted on my Nexus 7 as well because of Xposed much better experience than running cm or other variants. Hope this helps your phone experience. I included a link to the thread

Out of curiosity I had tried one of the stock modded Verizon roms. To be honest I really don't see the need so much for a custom ROM on this phone either, especially with xposed, however the one thing I would like to see is a good custom kernel or two. I would like to try some CPU and GPU overclocking just to see what kind of results we could get.
Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk

I agree with the post above I just picked this phone up yesterday rooted installed exposed and use gravity box for all my customizing and V4A works so I'm happy. A custom kernel would be nice with faux sound just to give the headset a slight boost when listening to music on headphones the speaker sounds just as good as the Htc one so called boom sound
Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk

After installing xposed frame work and gravity box don't see any need for custom ROM. Kind of reminds me of MOAR ROM on GS3.

Yea theme chooser would be nice but with 4.4 and the faded nav bar and status bar is pretty sweet though

I could probably live without Theme Chooser thanks to the Closed Framework. But I'd kill for some inverted 4.4 gapps. It does kinda suck not having some Sprint ROMs to flash and try out, though.

Rooted within 3 hours. Started on a different Rom but switched to vipers and never looked back. Incredibly close to stock with just some basic visual upgrades and a lot under the hood

d3rpROM, ViperROM, and TrickDroid are the best ones out there atm. I am currently running TrickDroid because it has tons of mods selectable in AROMA, it is quite nice. (you can find it in the international forum, it will give you the option to flash the Sprint version from the .zip)

Have you tried RENOVATE? Using RENOVATE ROM, Wolfpack Kernel and OJM MODs.....ultimate device. Viper ROM is very nice....but Quadrants and Antutu scores suffer greatly. Renovate also includes PureXAUDIO , battery optimization, and it flys. It's mostly stock unless you choose their theme
I think he meant he rooted in 3 hours and not it took all of 3 hours.
It took me about 2 hours to root. It would have been faster but I used the HTC One (M7) All-In-One Toolkit V1.2, and while it got me started, it didn't work as advertised, left off steps, and then just stopped working. I had to do most of the work manually myself, but I did it.
theres an easy video to follow on youtube if you search "htc one root" look for the one posted by qbking77. it doesnt use the all in one toolkit so if something goes wrong its easier to figure out what you did wrong...

We need SS to have the ability to flash Roms. It doesn't do any good to have developed any Roms of there is no way for locked users to load them. Having SS is the first step in the right direction.

SS allows me to run a rooted copy of the latest AT&T update (.54), and I can still flash back to the original firmware (.51) if I wanted to start over.

[Q] CM + Moto Apps

So... quick question (major noob when it comes to porting apps/roms). Since Motorola has all of the featured apps on the play store, are we able to flash CM and install the updates (Assist, Active Display, Motorola Connect, and Touchless Control) to the Moto X? Is this even possible? Could the apps possibly be added into a custom variant of CM/AOKP/PACMAN ROM for the Moto X? I would assume that the apps, since the hardware makes it possible, could be ported somehow into a custom ROM.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Motorola+Mobility+LLC.
Again, major noob when it comes to this stuff but I figured I would ask.
Not possible.
But if you want a VERY close to CM-like experience, do this:

Fully customizable LG-skinned ROM based on 24A?

When I look through the Verizon G2 Android Development forum I see stock+ ROMs based on the 24A LG skin, I see "AOSP-based" ROMs (technically they're all based on AOSP but I'm referring to non-OEM-skinned ROMs), and a hybrid ROM with elements taken from the G-Flex ROM. What I don't see is a full-on custom ROM based on any of the LG-skinned ROMs as far back as 10b.
I was wondering if anyone is working on a full custom ROM based on 24A. Naturally it's too early to see any yet, but it'd be nice to know if one was in the works, or if I missed one somewhere in the myriad of subforums in which VS980 ROMs can be found. I know there are Xposed modules available but in my experience I've found them to be rather unstable. Thanks in advance for your helpful replies ?.

Its not called "tech support" its Q & A.... I don't understand what it is that your asking for. I came from the note 3 to the g2, stock based rom options that we had were Clean Rom(basically stock debloated and optimized), Baja Rom (themeable, customizable stock), Eclipse (AOSP elements) and JellyBeans (AOSP Themed). Most of these Roms were deodexed, debloated, stock roms with a few tweaks/themes added to them. If you compare the features of Clean Rom and Malladus they are similar, same goes for XDABBEB's. The G2 has a themeable UI, so theming the Rom isn't necessary. I personally have themed a few apks in my rom because I don't like green (phone and mms), but other than that I use LG Home Themes.
@shiftr182 ok I can appreciate that - so basically the primary ROMs based on the LG skin are stock+ with limited customizations. I also understand that the LG Home themes already address the need for customizable look and feel options. I had mainly been hoping for a LG-skinned counterpart to a fully-featured ROM such as AOKP. Thanks for the helpful reply (btw I also don't like green all that much ?)

I have been using the 4.4 based build of Carbon Rom the last couple days.

Just got a Droid Turbo - Bootloader Unlocking question, plus ROMs (besides CM12)

Just got a (supposedly rooted) Droid Turbo off Ebay... looks real nice. The phone was advertised as rooted, though i'm not sure how to verify. Android version 5.1
I had planned to install a custom ROM... initally CM12... as I want to tether with the device. I have CM12 installed on a Kindle fire and it works well, and I've installed custom ROMs (CleanROM, specifically) previously with an HTC One M8 (go S-off, unlock bootloader w/ sunshine, twrp recovery, etc), and it worked well.
I did note in the CM12 thread that simultaneous voice + data isn't supported right now. Thats a feature I use a lot, so I'm wondering if any other ROMs are out that support both tethering as well as simultaneous voice/data. (ideally ones with continuing support, but hey, can't be too picky). Maybe not a deal breaker, but it'd be a concern.
Also... I was expecting unlocking the bootloader to be a big deal (or at least to require another paypal payment to sunshine). Looks like I have an "allow bootloader unlock" option in developer options. Is that all I need? That'd be sweet!
Thanks all!
