Does anyone know where to get Moto X device art?
Art as in artwork? Check Google.
If you're talking about the ART runtime, then you need to enable developer mode.
Goto settings->about phone->build number. Tap that box several times and you should see a message that you're now a developer.
Now hit back and you should see developer settings above about phone.
Tap developer settings, then tap the toggle button at the top right to turn the settings on. Scroll down until you see runtime. It'll say Dalvik. Tap that and you should be able to select ART. Once you confirm your setting, the phone will reboot.
Once it reboots, your phone will show a small box that says optimizing apps. Don't touch anything and let the phone finish its thing. Once it completes, all of the apps should be running using the ART runtime.

Device art like http://developer.android.com/distribute/promote/device-art.html except for the Moto X.
What you're looking for is called "mockup". I googled "Moto X mockup", and found a link to a post right here:

I was just calling it what it is called on the official Android website.

Well, it's not like the one and only name is mandatory. "Mockup" just makes it easier to search for, at the time.

I cannot figure out how to get into dev options to enable usb debugging when on a 4.2.2 stock sense rom. I know you're supposed to tap build number in about, but I've tapped everything and nothing pops up.
edit: nvm figured it out
Tap build number 7 or 8 times. It's there.

Thank you! They certainly did a good job hiding it this time.
I can't seem to find this feature on my Moto X. I have the MLB app, and in a previous life I used to use mock locations on other phones to surpass the blackout restrictions. Yes yes.... naughty naughty, but now I live in the LA area, and want to watch my team that will never hit me as a blackout result.
The problem is, I get the error message that I used to get when I had mock locations enabled on my previous devices. I wanted to check this to see if this was the problem so I can disable it, but I can't find it anywhere in the settings menus.
Now I'm more curious as to what happened to it...
Any help would be much appreciated!

If you mean you can't find the option to enable mock locations, it's in developer options on the settings screen. As of Android 4.2, you must go into "about phone" and tap the build number 5 times to enable developer options.

Ok, so I see these words a lot and I want to proceed in learning.
So can anyone tell me what this is and how do I "turn it on" or how do I access it in my phone. I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure exactly what it is but I can tell you how to turn it on.
Settings --> General Tab --> About device --> Tap the build number repeatedly and you will see the message "You are X steps away from becoming a developer." Just keep tapping and it will say that developer mode is enabled. Developer options will be at the bottom of the General tab. You'll see USB debugging in those options.

Does anyone know the name of the process that monitors acoustic levels and pops up when you turn the volume to max on headphones? On my Razr Maxx it was it's own app and I used Disable Service to stop it from warning me EVERY time.
I use a Tasker app to set volume to max in my car when streaming to bluetooth and on KitKat it only goes to about 75% volume, and I have to manually slide it up to max and press OK for it to actually change.
I can see it on my Droid Razr Maxx on JB 4.1.2 as a standalone app (can't disable from regular settings menu) but I could disable the service that monitored it. I'm guessing it's integrated into Android System or System UI now and I haven't taken the time to look at every single service in there to see which it is. Just curious if anyone else has found it yet, or another way to stop it from interfering with my desire to listen to satanic music at obscene volumes.
Thanks!
Do you reboot frequently? Because I only get that prompt once, and then it never comes up again until I reboot the phone.
use gravitybox to disable it

Yes very annoying. It shouldn't even be on for a bluetooth. Any way to disable it without root?

I use one profile to detect if I'm in the car or not. It checks if I'm connected to my bluetooth device in the car and sets a variable %INTHECAR to yes.
The actual Pandora task runs if %INTHECAR is yes and the time is between 9am and 6am (I listen to a local morning radio show on my drive to work instead of Pandora, so don't launch if it the morning show is on).
The actions for the Pandora task are:
Load App - Pandora
Wait - 5 seconds (this accounts for Android trying to reset Pandora to the previous volume you listened at)
Media Volume - 15
When bluetooth disconnects, %INTHECAR is set to no, and there is an exit task that will kill Pandora and revert some settings:
Media Volume - 0
Taskkill - Method: Extreme - Pandora
Go Home - Page 0 -- IF %SCREEN ~ off
I use the Taskkill app which adds kill support to Tasker. The built in option doesn't work anymore since like Android 4.1 or 4.2.
I have other profiles that run off of the %INTHECAR variable (auto SMS reply is one), which is why I have it set out on two different profiles.
I'd be happy to answer any questions that anyone has.

Is this the only way? I've never used Gravity Box so I am not familiar with it.. Does anyone know the service name or what it might be bundled with?

It's easy to use gravity box
And in kit kat in moto x you will don't be able to find that service, because all of the services that was in a standalone app in jelly bean are integrated in kit kat in one process: android OS

Well first off, thank you. I've used CyanogenMod before and this adds basically all the stuff I liked from it to my phone, and more.
Just to clarify, the setting in Gravity Box looks like it's defaulted to off for the audio warning. Is the unchecked state what I need for off?
Thanks again!

Here it is for 4.1/4.2/4.3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316070
Do read the first post and all of the instruction for installation/compatibility.
OK thanks. As far as I can tell, I better not install it. I have SlapMyMoto 4.4 rooted installed on my locked phone. I do not have CWM installed either and the way the thread reads, Gravity Box may or may not be compatible with my Moto X.

I rooted with SlapMyMoto 0.5c and have 4.4, with Xposed and Gravity Box and it works fine. You do need to disable write protection for Xposed to work properly, though.
Another question about Gravity Box.. How does it impact battery life? It seems like the stuff it does (battery look/feel, additional context in menus, etc) are stuff that's already there, but "hidden". With it, I've already been able to remove two existing apps from my phone, one I used for torch and another I used for a reboot button. I also turned on the network traffic monitor in the statusbar.
I assume since so many people use it that it must not take too much battery, but who knows.

I've noticed no increased battery use. But then I'm also not turning on features that require additional power. When KitKat was introduced someone at Google was quoted in a press release who said the network activity indicators in the status bar consumed a "surprising" amount of resources. If that's true, then I should think turning them back on would entail a bit of a battery hit.
XT1053, just bought it. Running stock 4.4, always been stock. What are the dialer codes? I have yet to see a list or any success with the few i saw on random forums, thanks!
The goal is to be able to delve into hidden menu and also control the radios. Thanks in advance!!

First off, the code is *#*#info#*#*
Secondly, dialer codes don't work on the stock moto x 4.4+ I've tried many and none will bring up any menu.
Another post mentioned the app Phone Testing. This has worked for me as far as bringing up the info menu.

But yeah, the codes seem to be hit or miss (I've had both experiences on stock -- it's working for me now on 4.4.2 but didn't work on 4.4)

thanks for the help guys, I searched anycut in the play store but it's gone apparently. also, piccit is right, the dialer code does not work for 4.4 that was the first thing i tried when getting the phone lol
I'm just gonna find anycut on google. Also piccit, since we have the same model, Are there any noticable camera improvements for 4.4.2? also did system update work for you? it doesn't for me, and did audio effects toggles work for you? because on 4.4 it don't work for me lol.

I actually have the 1060 (vze DE). I flashed the Great Britian 4.4.2 and never bothered to modify my build.prop to specify the right version.
As far as your questions:
I don't use the camera enough to comment.
I manually flashed 4.4.2, so system update doesn't come into play
I haven't touched my EQ/audio effects, they're still on whatever the defaults are
I'm not familiar with anycut, but if you just want to get to the testing menu, the app chrstndsgnr posted worked for me when the dialer code wouldn't on 4.4

AnyCut hasn't been updated since 2008. If you've installed it before, open the play store, click on the upper left and pick"my apps" then "all". You'll probably have to scroll all the way to the bottom
Here's the direct link, don't know if it'll work for you or not.

Thanks for the reply but I trieed that direct link else where already. also I can just get the apk from google like i did last time.
you can create shortcuts to hidden menus through the activities widget in third party launchers like apex launcher and action launcher, probably others.
CQATest: CQATest > CQATest > .Test_MenuMode
Phone info (submenu of Testing): Settings > Phone info > .RadioInfo
Programming Menu: Programming Menu > Programming Menu > .ProgMenuApp$ProgMenuList
Qualcomm Settings: com.qualcomm.qualcommsettings > Qualcomm Settings > .QualcommSettings
Testing: Settings > Testing > .TestingSettings
All of those work except the programming menu when using the action launcher. Thanks for sharing!
