You must flash the stock rom using flashtool -> relock the bootloader -> restore TA partition

you could also repair with FlashTool. It supports unlocked bootloader.

Should be fine using PC Companion as long as you don't unlock the bootloader. Restoring to a stock firmware isn't to hard anyway using Flashtool
Yes you can just by using Flashtool and downloading a ftf, easy and handy to have when you are on locked bootloader.
PC Companion wipes your data unlike flashtool (just untick wipe data

Help needed installing newest monxdified ROM

Hello everyone,
I just tried to install the newest monxdified ROM after I decided to root my Z1.
I did it multiple times by now and followed the given instructions for a clean install.
The installation of the ROM itself seems to work without any error, but after flashing the kernel and baseband the device simply does not boot anymore. The only modes still working are fastboot and flashmode.
The file is not corrupted, md5 is correct.
I hope someone can help me.
Greetings,
Glissa

bootloader locked or unlocked??? firmware on which u r flashing????
Bootloader is locked, using instructions for locked bootloader.
Firmware is C6903 / 14.1.G.1.534 / 1276-4314_R2A
By now I solved the problem by installing [NUT]'s prerooted stock .290 first and then installing the monxified system after a factoryreset.
Seems to be working without restrictions and with access to system folder.
Glad u solved it...

[Q] Device bricked - Not booting after attempt at downgrading

After upgrading to 4.4 beanstalk tried to downgrade by installing FTF of 4.3 ROM. Ever since all I can do is get into FlashMode and FastBoot (using Flashtool), and am able to install FTFs and fastboot boot.img, but the device never turns on (and doesn't vibrate when I press the power button). Tried unlocking, re-locking, running Sony's Update (but it says the software is incompatible so it won't upgrade), different FTFs and BOOT.IMGs.
All I want is to get back to a locked, official ROM.
Help!

Yeah - battery is charged (to the best of my knowledge) - connected all day to the USB.
Have you tried Sony's flashtools?
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Try to flash the latest firmware using flashtool
which flashtool are you using?
Flashtools state that the version of the software can't be upgraded (it was a custom KitKat rom). Also tried the most up-to-date flashtool that I could find (0.9.13.0).
Is the downgrade from 4.4 even possible? Is there an order in which I should be installing using FlashTool?

[Q] How to go back to Stock official ROM sony xperia z1

I'm on ihackers 2.1 ROM android 4.3
rooted
unlocked bootloader
I wanted to go back to stock to C6902_14.2.A.0.290
I found the method but I'm not sure if this is the right way http://lionking853.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/how-to-go-back-to-stock-firmware-on.html
and if it is the right way, after going back to stock ROM, will my phone unroot and relock again?
Can I just go ahead and do this or must I relock bootloader first?
please help me since I never done this before, only rooted and unlock that I did.
Thank you so much folks

If you have an unlocked bootloader, you will not be able to update using PC Companion. I didnt know all this **** were involved in Sony phones.
I had unlocked my bootloader a couple of days back, didnt know I had to backup my DRM keys and ended up losing my warranty. Now I cant even update my phone using the official updating method.
BTW... the recovery is bundled with the kernel, thats why people refer to it as flashing a kernel instead of recovery. I didnt know this until 2 days back.
Thanks

If you do have a TA backup then you don't have to do anything else then restoring it on a stock rooted firmware..If you don't then use flashtool to relock it..

If I am on a Locked Bootloader and on a rooted custom ROM, will Sony PC Companion detect my phone when the next update comes??
This is stupid. If you are in 4.3 (.290) with un-locked boot loader you cant update via PC companion or SUS.
I ended up going to 534 (4.2) via flashtool. Root it, restore TA backup and then use SUS to update. And flashing the latest 4.3 via Flashtool din work.
No PC Companion or SUS won't detect your phone.. You've to manually flash a valid ftf from Flashtool.. Then you can connect & update your phone through PC Companion or SUS..

If you are trying the OTA, it is likely to fail. I had the same issues.
Plug the phone into the PC and update via PCC. It will work.
I tried via PC Companion but it shows an error like " you installed custom software to phone,it can't be updated "..

that means you have an unlocked bootloader..restore ta keys if you have a backup or just relock it and try again
or flash a ftf via flashtool and keep unlocked bootloader
If its OTA that fails it probably because of rooted phone. If PCC fails to update its because of unlocked bootloader, check for it in service menu.

tell me one thing, while flashing bootloader should be locked or unlocked?
Just relock the bootloader and you can update the phone with Sony Update Service.
However my problem after unlocking the BL again the phone still offers the update to be installed even it is already there. Any idea how to fix this?
