Download an i9001 CWM recovery, rename it as update.zip and flash using you 3e recovery, after that do not reboot but enter CWM recovery and try install a i9000 Custom ROM ( follow full flashing guide given by developer)

But is this possible without being able to put the zip file of the cwm recovery into the internal memory of the phone?

sorry about that, my lack of thought, anyway the solution would be to get download mode, which can be done by using a USB JIG, either that or you have to use JTAG to flash direct to the board when download mode becomes impossible.
But First, why can't you get download mode? have you tried any of the options mentioned in MY Android Solutins, link below...since you say you have recovery mode, download mode should be good to go?. if its working, just follow the i9001 flashing guide mentioned in My Android solutions to flash a gingerbread ROM using Odin 4.43 with AriesVe.ops

Booting in download mode on the phone is not a problem, the problem is that my pc doesn't reconize the phone (kies and odin)

I belive I soft bricked my i9305 when I tried to install Chainfire3D. I get stuck on the samsung logo but I can still access recovery. I did a CWM backup in Rom manager before it soft bricked but I cant access the backup from the default Recovery and I never flashed into CWM Recovery. So I wonder if I can flash CWM recovery from default recovery so I can reach my backup. Factory reset did not help, still stuck on Samsung logo. I tried flashing 2 roms but I get a error message E:Failed to verify whoe-file signature, E: signature verification failed. I can also add that I did not use Odin to root my device, I used Framaroot. I have no idea what my region number is and such so I'm not sure I can flash the stock rom ether.
Any kind of help is appreciated.

You can not flash a custom rom or a custom recovery from the default recovery, use odin to flash clockworkmod recovery.

A good idea would be for you to read the basic faqs and guides first .
ODIN and Root have nothing at all to do with entering download mode .
No download mode means you require a service centre repair .

I can not enter adb shell ether because I never had the chance to enable usb debugging. Is service center really the only way? I can still install files from default recovery.
yes. sadly service center is the only option you have now

I flashed stock rom that I downloaded from sammobile through odin. I want to thank you guys so much for helping me out, it wasn't a easy road. Flash this first Flash i9001 Boot.tar with AriesVe.ops in Odin 4.43, after that download the correct firmware for your region from here and flash with ariesVe.ops using Odin 4.43,
the problem could be due to either your boot loader is corrupt or the ROM you are flashing is corrupted.
you can try i9001 ROM (fresh download from above link) first too
good luck & good night.

EDIT: No, i can't flash this with odin, i have the same problem, odin doesen't work, he don't start anithing only say plctform verification.
I can see 2 way for you:
1. You can install clean Gingerbread backup via Recovery.
2. You can reinstall Samsung drivers on PC or change PC to another.
Did you try these methods?

Hi!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000B that can't enter download mode, i've tried many methods (except the jig), and there no way :crying:
I bought this phone (used) mainly for music, about 3 months ago, so i upgraded from froyo to GB 2.3.3 and then to CM 10 and then to HellyBean Rom (Android 4.3, CM 10.3?). Now i wan't to go back to GB to recover the digital tv tuner, but my volume down button is broken, so i can't go to download mode via combo buttons.
ADB reboot download just reboots normaly.
Downgraded to CM10.2 -> same thing
Downgraded to CM10 -> same thing
Downgraded to CM9 -> same thing
Downgraded CM7.2 -> same thing
Can't downgrade anymore...
I have no problem with recovery mode, but there's no option for reboot into download mode, tried different kernels (and recoveries).
Before i try making a jig i wan't to know if someone can think in another way to go to download mode, maybe a zip that i can flash via CWM that makes the phone reboot into download mode or any way to remap the keys to boot into download mode.
Any help will be appreciated.
Best regards!

Thanks for the reply, but i already tried your methods (except the jig), but having a broken vol. down key is the main issue.
The button remapper app works at Android (OS) level, isn't it? i need to have the buttons remaped in the bootloader, so i don't think it'll work
I was thinking that maybe my bootloader is the problem, because i already tried different kernels and roms and adb reboot download still won't work.
How can i flash a bootloader without entering download mode? can i flash it via CWM? which bootloader can i use for my device [I9000B]?

for bootloader you need to find a stock i9000B ROM that comes with it, alternatively you can try and flash the i9000 14 toggles in CWM, that would give you download mode function from your Notification tray. ( should work but NO guarantees, so make nandroid backup before flashing). Also some themes have this (download) function, from power button too ( you need to locate them for i9000B, search in theme & App forum)
ok, look at this its the speedmod kernel, you can use this kernel meant for i9000, flash and do not reboot but enter CWM and reboot into download mode, just another option.

Mate, try with the Jig, you can buy it on eBay for ca $2 or even build one yourself. It enforces boot into download mode.
You can't attempt to flash a bootloader without the download mode.

Yep, Mobile Odin is AMAIK designed for newer devices like i9100, N7000 etc.
The jig will do good work for sure, don't worry. Your phone must be off when you connect it.

Mobile Odin is compatible with I9000B, but not when using CM or MIUI.
Anyway, i finally did it!!! :victory: :highfive:
I found this thread in CM forums: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...load-and-recovery-mode-after-flashing-kernel/
That gave me the clues to solve this.
1. Downloaded SpeedMod Kernel [GB] CWM version, and extracted zImage
2. Copied zImage to sdcard and flashed it using "flash_image boot /sdcard/zImage" through ADB
3. Then "adb reboot recovery"... bootloop...
4. Then i booted with 3 combo button for recovery and voila! SpeedMod recovery! with "Reboot download" option available
5. Reboot in download mode via CWM and flashed stock Froyo rom with PIT and repartition checked, and then flashed GB rom with no problem at all.
Now i'm gonna celebrate :victory: :victory: :victory:
I9000 Wont boot no service mode is it bricked?

i opened an update rar file instead of a tar (should have noticed) and ran odin it failed and now i cant,
get my gt I9000 to boot into service mode or start up.

Hello Every Body
Appreciate your help as i am new to this .
I have Galaxy GT-N7000 , & I rooted it with Stock Recovery+Safe Kernal + CWM Recovery as in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
it work great with no problem at all , then i update CWM recovery using ROM Manager & try to backup my ROM using ROM Manager , the phone is restarted directly & stuck at Galaxy Note GT-N7000 LOGO and stop booting , i can't go to recovery mode , i can only go to download mode
How to solve this problem ?
is there any solution to fix this problem & keep my data on phone ?
I am a beginer , this is my 1st post & the only thing i do is to root my device and use the apps
Please:
1- write detail instructions or link to a post so i can follow & learn what to do
2- Appreciate to put a link to any needed tools
Thank you
Rom manager is horrible. And useless.
If you can enter download mode, just Odin flash a stock firmware and redo the steps to get recovery. You should only create rom backups via recovery, Rom manager does not seem to support the Note 1
