Hello guys,
i just looked a video about the htc ones slow motion function. I^ve tried it with the cyanogenmod 11 build in camera, but it crashes when i chose hdr and i cant find the slowmo function, so i`m looking for the htc ones stock camera app. Ive already tried to search it via google but without any results. Are there any possibilitys to install the 4.3 stock Camera on cm 11?
Thanks a lot!

Sorry to disappoint, but this is not possible. The HTC Camera app uses code that is a part of HTC's Sense UI. Without a stock Sense Rom, you cannot install the Sense Camera, which is a shame.
The biggest problem is that the code related to the camera app is not open source, so Devs cannot really use it to port the app to AOSP/CM roms.
Hopefully some genius dev will be able to replicate the function of the required code, and port over the camera, but it is not really a priority for any of them right now.

oh, well, i allready thaught so..
it seems, that the camera app is a vergy good work from htc. As i heard, it comes with the best slowmo quality until now.. what should i do now? are there any better ways then taking the stock rom? I really like the design of 4.4 , but the batterylife decrease slightly. I think i would take a custom rom with sense, so i can delete some stock roms. Is that possible?

I think you meant you would delete/replace some of the stock apps on a rooted Sense rom... Am I correct?
If so, yes. I personally would vouch for ViperOne. The team is super amazing. They have quick, over-the-air updates, and their rom is rock solid stable. To delete apps, you can use Rom Cleaner (just search the XDA forums in the general android development) I can provide links 2morrow when I get back home bcoz my phone doesn't show the XDA search bar lol.
But an even better approach than removing apps yourself is to Use Eragon Rom. I have a link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423492&highlight=eragon
The developer removed the sense launcher and everything, but kept some apps like the camera, gallery, dialer, and sound equalizer. It is pretty smooth, and tbh, the Dev is a nice, helpful guy.
Hope I helped

I do believe Eragon has the HTC gallery app as well. In fact, I am sure, because it supports HTC Zoe, which requires the HTC gallery.

Hi guys, how are you?
Can someone tell me wich one of the above rom's is the best and why?
Thanks
I've just installed MIUI and while I am impressed with many aspects, I am decidedly let down.
The speed of it is excellent, very smooth and enjoy a number of features of being able to customize the lock screen background, etc easily, however I much preferred the ability I had in stock standard to customize my homescreen better.
I might be missing some things, however my market is crashing constantly, so am unable to see if I can install a new home launcher over top (although I suppose to a degree that negates the point of installing the rom). The biggest ap I used was Pure calander scrolling widget, which can't be used (AFAIK) in MIUI, so this has really taken a big effect on my view of the rom.
I am about to reset and try darkies mod, as my understanding it seems very stock, with speed increases and several features removed.
I'm also hopefully going to try out Cyanogen mod tonight/tomorrow depending if I have the time to play around with Darkies tonight
Hope this helps somewhat.

Yes, it help a lot... But one more question.
Can you make video calls in Miui? I use video call a lot with my parents and girlfriend so I don't wanna lose this feature...
Can't help you there. I've never used a video call in my life
--edit
In saying the above, if I wasn't such an elitist on exactly how I wanted my homescreen to look, then I'd be very happy with MIUI. I'm not putting it down at all, it's a fantastic rom, but it just doesn't give me what I want out of it

Eh, eh, eh. Thanks anyway!
I think I'll give MIUI rom a try...
I've used both, they all arguably great roms.
I'm currently used Darky, because of the lack of FM Radio in MIUI. I'm a Fm dead fan, kinda bad habit....
However if MIUI figure out a solution for FM Radio, or if I find out a decent radio player I will definitely throw Darky away. IMHO compare to Darky, MIUI is superior in every aspects. Before I thought MIUI is too Apple, but then I gave it a shot, and I absolutely love it! The launcher is incredible, the mobile traffic counter is fantastic, MIUI music and Gallery are amazing, especially the music player!
In my phone, MIUI quadrant point is even higher than darky (1788 vs 1550), tho it's sort of lag sometimes. However, MIUI is suck when it plays MKV files (no sound with my files), tho it can be solved by using Moboplayer). MIUI also use different camera softwares, thus you would miss Darky if you need to take panorama.
In conclusion, I believe if you don't need FM player, or not a photographer, you must give MIUI a shot
Darky's rom

Me either . The only prob is miui rom lacks a lot of features and I cant understand why... Video call, radio and so on... But in overall is the best rom I ever try in my galaxy s... What should I do?
I was on CM7 for one week, and I really enjoyed the look&feel of the whole ROM.
I was really sad going back to something sammy-based, but random phone-crashes, random non-working APN/wifi and the low battery life left me no choice.
I'm on Darky's 10.1 now, and I only thing I really miss is the AOSP calendar (TW-calendar sucks).
totally Darky's rom, as Miui change the layout of android
basically, Miui has its own layout...
or i should Miui is a "ios" base on Android

is there any themes that could bring back the Samsung SGS theme on top of Darky's 10.1?
i'm loving all the new roms like cm7 or omfgb or vanilla gb. BUT im not liking the aosp camera included in any of them. too low of resolutions, at least in widescreen. also just missing a few other features i like.
is there a way to get the touchwiz/default/samsung camera installed onto any of the above listed roms? and if there is...could someone point me to where the needed apks/instructions are to install said camera?
thanks!
35 ppl looked and didnt know. dang. not looking good.

this; the froyo camera you were used to not only would take some work to make functional on gingerbread, it is touchwiz which multiplies that by 100. Remember how it took a really long time for jt to get the camera working on cm7? he had to rewrite drivers pretty much, you would have to essentially reverse engineer his work (I assume) to make froyo/touchwiz things work.
In the meantime, try out miui, they have a great camera with a lot of features like froyo did.

I prefer CM or Vanilla based roms and I don't need Blinkfeed or Zoe. However, I do want the camera to take pictures like the stock does. I read, and from what I understand, GE ROM's do not use the full 4ultrapixel camera. ARHD looks cool and so does Excelsus One.
Thanks for your help.

I just wasn't sure if I was incorrect in my understanding that CM or GE/Vanilla roms had lower quality pictures. I don't need all the fancy effects. The HTC One S didn't use the onboard picture chip when you used vanilla roms. Was wondering if it was still the case.
Thanks for your response.

It's really difficult to port Sense applications because a lot of the Sense applications are very tied down to the Sense framework (Kinda like how 3D on AOSP ROMs on the Evo 3D doesn't work). At the current moment, I don't know of such a mod that works.
Here's are 2 useful links.
First one, 3 posts down, there is a very simple explanation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29446526
The second one is more detailed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780038
P.S. I got these links from a Google Search.
It means you should probably do the same first
Thanks buddy....i'll just try some 3rd party camera app from the playstore.
I'm looking to make the switch to aosp. I know that the dialer codes only work on sense roms (#data, #775, #778). How can you get access to these when using an aosp rom? Is an aosp rom that much better than a sense rom?

I was googling this earlier, and there are methods which can enable dialer codes but untested on our phones. Honestly there are hundreds of threads on AOSP and Sense comparisons, but in my opinion, AOSP has better battery life (although sometimes I've heard that Sense has better battery life), Sense has better looks as it has HTC's skin all over it. Last but not all, AOSP ROMs, such as Nocturnal GE are usually always on the latest version of Android.
If you switch to AOSP (I am using LS AOSP Rom). You will lose some of these:
Voicemail Application
Dialer Codes
All Hardware Camera Features (e.g. Burst, Zoe, etc)
Blinkfeed

Of those, can you get back the voicemail and camera funct. back? What, then, really makes aosp better? I have only ever had an HTC phone. The only thing I know is the Sense. If I was to switch to say a samsung or something else, what is really out there for them in terms of roms?

There are Third party Camera apps that will emulate the burst feature. The Voicemail app you can use Google Voice, it has a "Similar" feature.
The deal is, AOSP is a preference some love it, some hate it. I prefer AOSP over Sense, however maybe you like TouchWiz (Samsung's Shell) or *Shudder* the old Moto Blur.
HTC Devices are built around Sense, the hardware is designed to work with it, and only it. This leads us to the closed source drivers that the Camera uses. This is what limits the AOSP's ability to interact with the camera, e.g. Burst and Zoe like functions.
The only way to tell, is to just try a AOSP Rom and decide for yourself. Do a Nandroid backup of your current setup then flash (A Sprint Version, do not flash a GSM/International Version or you will have a bad day) an AOSP Rom. I suggest Liquid Smooth.

KEWL thanx for the fast response. I've been looking around at all of the different ROMs out there. I've been consistently using either BADBOYZ or BADSEED on sense. Looking to just try something different. I have CM on my Nexus 7 wifi, just wasn't sure about putting aosp on a phone. I know I also lose the dialer codes that can be used with sense roms. Is there any way to bring them back to aosp?
One question that I have never asked and could not find anything on. Which rom type has the better signal, aosp or sense?

I know its not a perfect solution but when I use Roms with no epst/dialer code support. I just keep a nandroid of a ROM that does. When I need it its just a nandroid away! Works for me!
