On the lockscreen you will see a long time "charging", and then "charged" when its fully charged.

Yes, and led will turn from orange to green.
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Sony somehow turns the led green when it reaches 90%. Kind of the same as what I've read not to stress the battery by charging/discharging it fully as it will decrease battery lifespan.
I suggest to unplug it once you see the led turn green as the difference in battery life is minimal whether it's charged at 100% or 90%.

yes, you're right.
Lithium Ion/Polymer battery life can be extended, if not fully charged. charge until 85%-90% only, can make up to twice life cycle.
And when do you start charging, when the battery hit 15-20% ? ( I normally start charging from 15-20%)

in the power setting, under information
my D2 couldnt show any information
last full charge: not applicable
why is that??
anyone have same problem?
It's kind of a dumb question, But it does only show information when your device is fully charged (green light) It does take a while

It's not a dumb question.
There are quite a number of TD2s out there that cannot attain full charge. The battery status remains at 99% regardless of how long you charge it. Hence, no green light and the last full charge field remains NA.
Mine charged well...
received it with a half full battery... I used it till it had no power left,
Then charged it over night and tadaa! green light in the morning
So now I'm letting it drain again, and then fully charge, so the battery calibrates
Not that I know sure, But my father's phone cannot charge to 100% either, because he didn't drain the battery when he bought it :s (Well that's what they say in the store)
I did drain the battery three times and loaded full.
The point is that the display of battery charging has a bug, if the device is on.
Charging works perfectly, when device is off. But the information screen won't be updated.
Have a look at this thread:
-> Battery Charge issue - bug? Reproduceable?
Pardon me, but why do you need your last charge information anyway? As long as the battery lasts until your next charge, it shouldn't bother right?

Carty..

Will you sleep easy if your phone doesn't recognize when it has obtained a full charge and stop charging the battery?
I wonder if the built-in protection circuitry on the Li-ion battery will stop accepting a charge when it's full. Is the phone capable of overcharging the battery and become a fire hazard?
i accidentally left my gene charging whole night and in morning it showed continuously a red light so i left it out for whole day and now after fully charging battery stays for only 15 mins is my batteries are damaged any way to save them . i thought that battery hack is risky kindly help should i buy a new one
I thought that the battery doesn't overcharge. When fully chared, the battery stops charging.

I wan't to know is there any problem with bettry or mobile ?
I have gotten myself a new battery but the battery is only 52% and the LED light is not Red meaning it has finished charging. How do I calibrate my new battery?
Update:
As I am charging, I noticed that the percentage keeps going down. From 64% to 53% now. What's wrong?

just because your led is not red doesn't mean it's finished charging. it's finished charging when the led is green. (well, it's green when it gets to 90% charged, but you get my point)
The led is red and from the notification, it shows as charging, but my battery life is depleting, asking me now to connect to charger. You get what I mean?

To recalibrate I do:
1.Wipe batt stats
2.Let new batt die out fully
3.Recharge till 100% by looking @ lock screen or spare parts
*I've only used wipe batt when using diff rom.
As in the previous battery works fine, I can charge with it. But this new battery doesnt seem to charge although it says in the notification that it is charging...
Same issue not solution
Hi
I'm new and this is my first thread.
After I rooted my phone I have an issue with charging my battery.
When I started the phone after the root I had a 100% battery, after I was playing and using it I plugged it in when I was going sleep.
After the whole night my phone charged from around 12% to only 60%, and then after I was using and draining the battery nearly to minimum(around 5-7%) it and left it for a couple o hours and it charged to 59%. Sometimes it charges a bit more but the whole process is really slow comparing it to the stock rom charging(it was taking lik 3-5 hours from 0-100%).
I rooted my phone with ivendor's rom from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825260
I was using CWM 6.0.1.2.
I would like to ask for any solutions for my problem, for now I want to drain it to 0 and then leave it again charging for a couple of hour maybe a whole night.
It's a bug. Sometimes is occures and sometimes not.
You could flash castagnaIT kernel and try again.
Just installed the kernel.
1st thing I noticed is a performance increase.
I'll gonna post what's the situation of battery tomorrow.
Ok, After a whole night of charging my phone only got to 68%, then when I was charging it when it was turned off It charged to 85% and when I turned it on it stopped to charge even with the AC plugged in and the icon is showing that it's charging.
Any solutions ? Please help.

I get a similar issue. When on stock I was always getting 100 %. Then I flashed CM9 and I randomly get 100 % after all night recharge.
If you are not afraid of switching ROMs, try a different one and let us know if it solved the problem because as mrjraider said

Ok.
I was charging it turned off. It charged to 100%. I'll gonna test it today one more time with charging it when the phone is switched on.
If it fails I'll gonna get back to my stock rom and test it and try again with a battery charge to 100%.
Also remember that the phone wont charge completly due to safety of your battery..
Most of the time it recharged to 98 percent

Yes I know but the indicator in the phone 'has that in mind' so it shows 100% but its really 98 i know. When I was analyzing that battery graph I saw that the battery is charging really long. If I'm reading it right it takes the same amount of time to charge it as to drain it when using it.
Screen is attached. I was charging it through the wall charger.
It's polish language
Any opinions ?
Make your battery empty 0% !
Try to turn on the phone after empty battery !
and make sure that the battery is empty ....
Just connect your charger without turn on you phone....
charge your phone for 9 hours !
Then , take the charger out and turn on your phone !
Try... this steps may it help you

I think that the solution was USB debugging. When I turned it off the phone is normally charging full and works perfectly.
Hey everyone! we are all using a li-ion battery » when we unplug our device from cable it will turn automatocally to 99%... I'm sorry folks, i don't like this feeling neither never havimg 100%...

sad but true. it would be nice to have an endless batterylife
i have the same issue with thebattery
Odp: Battery won't charge to 100%
Try another rom. It was the solution in my case.

Ahh.... just turn it off. Charge it fully( 3hrs at max). Got to recovery and wipe battery stats. Then drain it completely, and then recharge it fully.again. Then it will most probably go till 100%

88% full charged battery
Hi, is someone solve this problem. On my alcatel idol 6030X with off phone battery is 100% changed, after power on show 88%. When charging with power on phone, after 88% charging stop. What to do?
Hi
is it normal I'm not getting a battery full notification after it reaches 100% charging? normally with Samsung I used to get this kind of notification and to unplug the charger, in my Xperia Z I'm not!!
You don't need to unplug your charger right away - therefore there's no notification. Unplug when you want. ( but please consider doing it after 100% to save electricity )
