I have tried loading the stock RUU into my HTC One and I got the following error:

I have read the forum and it seems that I might be using the wrong RUU (I have tried a couple), can any one point me to the right RUU? I am looking for the stock ruu. Currently my phone only boots to fastboot, if I don't go into fastboot it just goes into a black screen.
The details on the phone below:

(bootloader) cidnum: BS_US001
Also, if it gives anyone an idea of what might be causing the problem, following is the text on top of my fastboot screen:

Actually if you are using the correct RUU then you will have to type the "fastboot flash zip insertzipname.zip" twice. The first one is a preparation and the second one is the one to flash it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497614

Developer Edition
use this RUU
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...r_brightstarus_wwe_3-22-1540-1-decrypted-zip/
From @nkk71 Guide
Flash your RUU.zip
Download your MID & CID compatible RUU.zip
Rename the downloaded file to ruu.zip (careful about ruu.zip.zip in Windows)
In bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash it:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip <- yes TWICE, the first one will report “failed flush again”, the second one will succeed.
fastboot reboot-bootloader

in case you have trouble finding it
here's @nkk71 guide >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
and here's the part on downgrading hboot
If you’re on hboot which is above 1.44, then first thing is to downgrade that:
so download this: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/1-29-401-12_hboot_1-44-zip/
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash it:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip <---- just in case the above said “failed flush again”
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> and confirm hboot is now 1.44

I haven't seen a 4.06.1540.3 RUU around, so you wont be able to flash an older one because you're s-on.
Why do you need to go back to stock?
Anyway, if you just need to get your ROM back to original, then you can just flash "Download stock odexed 4.06.1540.3"
from here: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
EDIT: otherwise you need to S-Off, and then use a ruu

well then simplest (quick & dirty) way, is to
1- install the odexed ROM from the link above.
2- flash the stock recovery (also available on above link)
but there's no OTAs after 4.06 at the moment (AFAIK)

no, you need to install it via TWRP, get
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or 2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
^^ make sure MD5 is correct, download managers fail on that site.
install that using:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.zip
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> enter RECOVERY
then either use adb push, adb sideload, or OTG cable to INSTALL that <name of rom>.zip in custom recovery.
then put stock recovery back using same commands as above.

well that explains alot
you have to push the file to your phone and flash it from custom recovery.
adb push rom.zip /data/media/0
then in recovery install / rom.zip

yep, also the 20 posts or so
so much nicer when someone copy/pastes the command prompt, and the link of what they're flashing, IMHO

Hello guys, :crying:
I saw that many ppl had problem with htc one bootloop but I didn't saw that someone had problem like mine.
So my HTC ONE started to update automatically (official update) and crashed at about 50% and restarted. After crash my phone not working anymore... Just stoped at second boot img (which starts with sound). So I started to look info in this forum how can I fix it. I rooted my phone, flashed recovery (cwm) and when wiped cache and data factory after that it gone even worse now its just stops at first boot img (gone starting sound)
Than I started to look for more information one website told to try flash stock rom or any other. So I did it.. But It came EVEN WORSE now my pc reads htc one as cd drive and after flashing again cwm getting error messages in recovery mode like that:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open cache/recovery/last_log
Soo I started to look deeper where can be a problem and found website which told to wipe cache data and etc I did everything what i could did but nothing changed it still freezes at boot first img.
So maybe someone knows how to fix this HTC ONE? Or its dead? :crying:
P.S sorry for my bad english...

If there is a RUU available for your CID/model ID, I would try that. That's the best idea I could suggest, otherwise you need some more educated advice.

OK, so you're on hboot 1.54 -> NO S-OFF at the moment, don't bother trying.
But I'm confused, you have a M7_UL (LTE) version of the HTC One, but your firmware says 1.29.651.10 which is Sprint so it should be M7_WLS model.
So is yours a Sprint version or the international one??

Then the firmware you have (1.29.651.10) is definitely not for your phone. I believe the latest official firmware is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
for your MID/CID (PN0710000/HTC__001) the latest is "firmware.zip from 2.24.401.1". Follow the thread details with care, since you're S-On you won't be able to downgrade or flash unsigned firmware, so I think that is your only way to go.
Once you have the firmware properly installed, go ahead and reflash latest CWM recovery (or TWRP if you prefer), then flash your favourite ROM. I'm using ARHD 13.3 which is very close to stock and has nice improvements and features.

Incorrect. You are confusing bootloader unlock, which is typically done via HTC dev website with S off which is completely different and is obtained via revone, but only if you're on older hboot 1.44 which came installed on earlier HTC One made before May 2013 (approximately)

You can use rumrunner to get S-Off for hboot 1.54, but where's your firmware to get the right rumrunner package.
Since you're hboot 1.54 and HTC__001, it's either 2.24.401.1 or 2.24.401.8 try rumrunner with both those versions. follow the instructions to the letter http://rumrunner.us/
EDIT: you may need to flash a Guru Reset ROM first

well download latest firmware from @vomer's guide, and if you dont want to flash the entire firmware, then just extract hboot from the zip and flash it in fastboot ruu mode.

Do I need to relock the bootloader?
Here it saya I do....
Rename the .zip to firmware.zip and place it in the fastboot folder
- Boot the phone to the bootloader and relock the bootloader :
Fastboot oem lock
- then put the phone in ruu mode with this command
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
(watch the capitals, this command will put the phone into a black screen with a silver HTC logo)
- then flash the firmware
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
- you see the text on the pc screen, when it says OKE you are good. If it failed you reflash the zip right away again.
Then reboot the bootloader, unlock it, flash the custom recovery, make a full wipe and install the new JB of ypur choice and don't forget to flash its boot.img too

no need to relock!!!! it's all in the guide, but if you don't want to read, here you go:
Download this: http://d-h.st/in6
Place the file "fw_3.62.401.1_custom.zip" in your adb/fastboot folder
reboot phone to bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, then the following
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip fw_3.62.401.1_custom.zip
fastboot flash zip fw_3.62.401.1_custom.zip <- YES, TWICE, the first one will report "failed push again immediately", the second one should say success
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar all <- and check the output that hboot and fw are updated
fastboot reboot
you DO NOT need to relock or anything, and you will not loose custom recovery.

Well, you cannot unroot the phone without CWM recovery. Your carrier id (HTC__039) requires a CWM Nandroid method to unroot. S-OFF IS REQUIRED. This is because the RUU firmware version is below ur current version.
I would suggest that you flash CWM and then flash Android Revolution HD Rom. Then S-OFF and carry on the unroot procedure.
Here's an excellent guide to help you:

1)
your bootloader has to be unlocked
If it is relocked than go to htcdev.com/bootloader/ and follow the steps
2)
You have to flash a custom recovery like Twrp or cwr
I recommand Twrp
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
3)
Your phone has to be s-off
For this use rumrunner
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488772
4)
Now you should be able to return back to stock
http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/return-stock-guide/

but when trying to s-OFF, i get the below? how do i turn on debugging without an o/S?

You will have to use "adb sideload" utility to sideload a ROM zip to the phone. Use Android Revolution HD rom
Get the ROM working and then use rumrunner
Firewater

All the Sense 6 ROMs and GPE ROMs are excellent . Look at the list of tweaks in each rom and then make your pick. Check the Android development page.
FYI, the camera and audio of Sense-based ROMs are better than GPE. But, if you like stock Android, then flash a GPE ROM.
Happy flashing

First, i try Android Revolution HD. Its ok and nearly stock. But in the last versions since 52.0 i miss some features. The last "good" version for me was 51.0
So, i switch to ViperOne 5.0.8.! And this Rom is absolutly great. The perfomance is faster, accu drain is low and the rom has many tools built in with great features. So, i can fully recommend this rom :good:

Thanks! I've heard that ViperOne ROMs are great. do you have a link to download?
I tried the GPE of Android Revolution but didn't really like the layout. I'm running the normal android revolution (61.1, i think?) (with sense 6.0)and its great but I'd love to try other ROMS too.

Yep, unlocking again using the HTC unlock code from their website, solved it. Thanks.
I have been having camera issues with my phone and need to send it back to service centre in Cyprus.
This phone was Rooted, with S-Off and Unlocked in the Bootloader, I started researching today how to put it back to stock and in the process I have probably soft bricked my phone and have tried and exhausted everything to reverse the problem.
When I reboot into RUU and try to flash the RUU Zip M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.16_R_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318486_signed_2_4_decrypted.zip it fails:

I am not able to go into or load any recovery files either, I am only able to do fastboot commands and no adb commands.

Very Good ... if you have time could you edit your first post (advanced edit and add Solved to the title).
I am unlocked boot-loader and currently running CM11S port
Thing is, i don't have S-Off
I have been looking for RUU for wind mobile as S-ON does not allow me to do anything. I am on H-boot 1.57
Is there any way to get back to stock?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
I am in a similar place and would love to know if I could go back to stock! Is there a way to change the MID or CID in order to use a different carriers RUU?

you can change the cid and mid to run a different ruu only if you have s-off.
So if I can get S-OFF, I can change the CID and MID and use a different RUU? Is there a downside to this I haven't realized?

nope, no downside, there is an upside though if you go for something like dev edition RUU, you will get updates quicker, there is no RUU for your device so this is the only way.

Fantastic, thank you! Which RUU would you suggest? I can't really tell which ones are the dev ones.

dev edition RUU's are specified by the x.xx.1540.x
could you post your fastboot getvar all please WITHOUT imei and serial number please.
@alray explains here how to easily change to dev edition: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54796614&postcount=2
you will need s-off first though.

you would need to get s-off first, then change your cid and mid, then run the RUU as per alray's instructions, make sure you use this to change your mid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535365
---------- Post added at 07:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:07 PM ----------
S-OFF, try firewater first http://firewater-soff.com/instructions/ if that fils then you will need to use sunshine http://theroot.ninja/
change mid to PN0712000
and change cid to: BS_US001
run the RUU

S-OFF worked, but before I change over to the developer version, are the ota updates stable or will this also give me access to betas? I want to make sure any updates I get are hassle-free.
EDIT: Got impatient, and set them to the dev values. Fastboot checks tell me it worked. Could you direct me to the thread that allows me to continue this process? Also, will I be able to avoid the relocked tag?

ota updates will be exactly the same as any other cid or mid, only you will get them sooner without waiting for your provider to approve them first, they will come direct from HTC to you.
Just saw your edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54796614&postcount=2

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that installing the RUU was the final step to stock. I'm currently downloading the one suggested in that post.

that's ok, just follow the flashing instructions too:
then download this ruu.zip and save it to your adb/fastboot folder, rename it to "ruu" (ruu.zip)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot

When I run the fastboot flash zip ruu.zip command, I get this:
C:\...\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
sending 'zip' (738282 KB)...
OKAY [ 32.465s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) shift signature_size for header checking...
FAILED (remote: 32 header error)
finished. total time: 32.655s
I ran it twice as instructed and then ran fastboot reboot but nothing has changed as far as I know.

could you try this RUU instead please, I just noticed that RUU zip on alray's thread is decrypted, also, be sure to check the MD5 of the RUU and file size is correct.
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-38r-1157-04l_release_353887_signed_3-exe/
just downloading it myself too, to test it.

use this link instead, the guru-reset site is having problems with incomplete downloads again, that appears to be the issue:

Awesome thanks! That new site is fantastic, getting 4 MB/s.
EDIT: I just realized that it's an exe rather than a zip. How does the command change in this case?

just run it in windows with your phone in fastboot mode (fastboot USB on the screen) and plugged into the computer, it will do the rest for you.
make sure your battery on your phone is at least 50% before running, I think recommended is 70%

So it seemed to work for the most part. It is running the stock Sense and I was able to apply the latest OTA update. Now I was wondering if I could replace the unlocked notice in the bootloader menu, as well as turn S-ON
