I am unlocked boot-loader and currently running CM11S port
Thing is, i don't have S-Off
I have been looking for RUU for wind mobile as S-ON does not allow me to do anything. I am on H-boot 1.57
Is there any way to get back to stock?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
I am in a similar place and would love to know if I could go back to stock! Is there a way to change the MID or CID in order to use a different carriers RUU?

you can change the cid and mid to run a different ruu only if you have s-off.
So if I can get S-OFF, I can change the CID and MID and use a different RUU? Is there a downside to this I haven't realized?

nope, no downside, there is an upside though if you go for something like dev edition RUU, you will get updates quicker, there is no RUU for your device so this is the only way.

Fantastic, thank you! Which RUU would you suggest? I can't really tell which ones are the dev ones.

dev edition RUU's are specified by the x.xx.1540.x
could you post your fastboot getvar all please WITHOUT imei and serial number please.
@alray explains here how to easily change to dev edition: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54796614&postcount=2
you will need s-off first though.

you would need to get s-off first, then change your cid and mid, then run the RUU as per alray's instructions, make sure you use this to change your mid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535365

S-OFF worked, but before I change over to the developer version, are the ota updates stable or will this also give me access to betas? I want to make sure any updates I get are hassle-free.
EDIT: Got impatient, and set them to the dev values. Fastboot checks tell me it worked. Could you direct me to the thread that allows me to continue this process? Also, will I be able to avoid the relocked tag?

ota updates will be exactly the same as any other cid or mid, only you will get them sooner without waiting for your provider to approve them first, they will come direct from HTC to you.

that's ok, just follow the flashing instructions too:
then download this ruu.zip and save it to your adb/fastboot folder, rename it to "ruu" (ruu.zip)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot

just run it in windows with your phone in fastboot mode (fastboot USB on the screen) and plugged into the computer, it will do the rest for you.
make sure your battery on your phone is at least 50% before running, I think recommended is 70%

Actually if you are using the correct RUU then you will have to type the "fastboot flash zip insertzipname.zip" twice. The first one is a preparation and the second one is the one to flash it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497614

use this RUU
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...r_brightstarus_wwe_3-22-1540-1-decrypted-zip/
From @nkk71 Guide
Flash your RUU.zip
Download your MID & CID compatible RUU.zip
Rename the downloaded file to ruu.zip (careful about ruu.zip.zip in Windows)
In bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash it:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip <- yes TWICE, the first one will report “failed flush again”, the second one will succeed.
fastboot reboot-bootloader

in case you have trouble finding it
here's @nkk71 guide >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
and here's the part on downgrading hboot
If you’re on hboot which is above 1.44, then first thing is to downgrade that:
so download this: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/1-29-401-12_hboot_1-44-zip/
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash it:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip <---- just in case the above said “failed flush again”
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> and confirm hboot is now 1.44

I haven't seen a 4.06.1540.3 RUU around, so you wont be able to flash an older one because you're s-on.
Why do you need to go back to stock?
Anyway, if you just need to get your ROM back to original, then you can just flash "Download stock odexed 4.06.1540.3"

well then simplest (quick & dirty) way, is to
1- install the odexed ROM from the link above.
2- flash the stock recovery (also available on above link)
but there's no OTAs after 4.06 at the moment (AFAIK)

no, you need to install it via TWRP, get
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or 2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
^^ make sure MD5 is correct, download managers fail on that site.
install that using:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.zip
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> enter RECOVERY
then either use adb push, adb sideload, or OTG cable to INSTALL that <name of rom>.zip in custom recovery.
then put stock recovery back using same commands as above.

you have to push the file to your phone and flash it from custom recovery.
adb push rom.zip /data/media/0

Hello, I have a rooted international HTC One currently running 4.3 Android with Sense 5.0. I am trying to perform an OTA system update that I have received... I downloaded the new 4.4 Android (1.1 GB) and I have selected "Install Update". But when the phone restarts, it just enters recovery and opens TWRP by itself!
So then I try to flash the downloaded OTA file via TWRP, but that also fails... Does anyone know how I can get 4.4 on my HTC One? Thank you

Depending on whats been done to the phone you can eather flash stock recovery and try the update from their or you have to ruu back to stock and take the update that way.
fastboot getvar all will tell you what stock recovery you need or what ruu to use

Do what cIsA said. Check the output of "fastboot getvar all". Look at your main-ver # and find the corresponding stock recovery. There is a thread in general section with a collection of stock recovery.
You can post the output of getvar here minus imei/sn and we will link you the correct recovery.
Okay so I ran a fastboot getvar all, and apparently there is no RUU for my device, because it is Latin American with a CID of HTC_332. (I searched almost everywhere)
Now, after flashing a 4.4 rom I downloaded, my HTC device wasn't turning on anymore (it was getting stuck at the HTC boot logo). So I restored from a backup I made in TWRP, and that didn't work either. So now my problem just got 1000x worse because of a mistake I just made now of completely wiping my device and the OS.
So for the moment I'll try to flash a new boot.img, get S-OFF again, and change the CID to 11111111 (as I have read) where I will then download a RUU I can use. I'll let you know what happens.
Whoa there.. No need to flash boot.IMG.
What's you're steps? I think you are about to make it worse
sent from my mobile device
Okay well I'm in a tight situation atm.
My phone is completely wiped, with no OS or anything. The only thing I have access to is fastboot, and the TWRP bootloader. Also considering my phone is wiped, I believe I have S-ON as well.
So what is the first step to just get a boot going? (unless I'm not completely screwed that is..)
EDIT- I have successfully flashed Android Revolution to my phone from TWRP by pushing the zip via adb fastboot. Got my phone running again. Step 1 complete.
Step 2 now is to get S-OFF again...
Step 3- Change my CID to 11111111 using the SuperCID method (there is no RUU for my Latin American CID; HTC_332)
Step 4- Use an appropriate RUU to get 4.4 stock after I have changed my CID.
Before I continue with these steps, can anyone confirm with me if I am on the right path?
Step 2 - Confirmed.
Step 3 & Step 4 ... What is an appropriate RUU? You have not yet posted a fastboot getvar all output yet. (remove imei)

I had the same cid when I bought mine. Irc, MID was PN0711000 with s.w. X.XX.599.X.
so he could use the 1.29.401.2 ruu on htc1guru but he have to change cid.

These CID:
HTC__001
HTC__J15
HTC__A48
HTC__M27
are compatible with the 1.29.401.2 ruu.zip so i'll suggest you to use HTC__001 if you change your mind. Personally, I would stay on ARHD. No benefit to flash that RUU vs ARHD. ARHD is always up to date...

i've tried that but i can't get the device to be s-off? i'm assuming it needs to be s-off to apply the RUU. I also don't know which RUU to download?

Well, you cannot unroot the phone without CWM recovery. Your carrier id (HTC__039) requires a CWM Nandroid method to unroot. S-OFF IS REQUIRED. This is because the RUU firmware version is below ur current version.
I would suggest that you flash CWM and then flash Android Revolution HD Rom. Then S-OFF and carry on the unroot procedure.
Here's an excellent guide to help you:

1)
your bootloader has to be unlocked
If it is relocked than go to htcdev.com/bootloader/ and follow the steps
2)
You have to flash a custom recovery like Twrp or cwr
I recommand Twrp
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
3)
Your phone has to be s-off
For this use rumrunner
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488772
4)
Now you should be able to return back to stock

OK. bootloader unlocked now which was the reason twrp wasn't installing. now TWRP installs fine.
but when trying to s-OFF, i get the below? how do i turn on debugging without an o/S?

You will have to use "adb sideload" utility to sideload a ROM zip to the phone. Use Android Revolution HD rom
Get the ROM working and then use rumrunner
Firewater

All the Sense 6 ROMs and GPE ROMs are excellent . Look at the list of tweaks in each rom and then make your pick. Check the Android development page.
FYI, the camera and audio of Sense-based ROMs are better than GPE. But, if you like stock Android, then flash a GPE ROM.
Happy flashing

First, i try Android Revolution HD. Its ok and nearly stock. But in the last versions since 52.0 i miss some features. The last "good" version for me was 51.0
So, i switch to ViperOne 5.0.8.! And this Rom is absolutly great. The perfomance is faster, accu drain is low and the rom has many tools built in with great features. So, i can fully recommend this rom :good:

Thanks! I've heard that ViperOne ROMs are great. do you have a link to download?
I tried the GPE of Android Revolution but didn't really like the layout. I'm running the normal android revolution (61.1, i think?) (with sense 6.0)and its great but I'd love to try other ROMS too.

Yep, unlocking again using the HTC unlock code from their website, solved it. Thanks.
Morning everyone,
I have been reading for days trying to get a handle on downgrading my phone to JB 4.3. I am s-off, unlocked, rooted, with current TWRP installed. I also am using SuperSu. I suspect I am just not using the right combination of programming. My first thought is that I need the correct Hboot to go with the ROM I want. Currently I am on Android 4.4.2 with sense 5.5. Software is 4.18.502.7 CL302626. I have loaded a custom Hboot which removed the developer red text. and have also removed the tampered warning with a bit of help from here. I am quite happy with remaining s-off and unlocked. I am decent with ADB commands. I understand Linux fairly well, and can even use a hex editor in a crude way.
The last 4.3 RUU_exe and RUU_zip would not complete. The EXE stated not compatible. The ZIP failed looking for the Android-info_txt. I looked in the ZIP file thinking it might need modified and did not find the Android-info file at all. Lead me to believe that I may not be hitting the correct file for my use. So, at the risk of asking a repeated question I have finally come here for a push in the right direction.
I have not messed with all of this since I modded my old EVO 4G from Sprint. The new Android system worked well in stock form. I started down this road because of my desire to move back to 4.3
And I did attempt to use the search function but did not find exactly what I want. Appreciate any help I may be able to get.

No! you don't have to flash hboot to be able to flash a rom, you can flash a 4.4 Rom even if i.e you are on hboot 1.44.

android-info.txt should be inside ruu.zip, however if you have the correct ruu for your mid/cid you should not have to modify the android-info.txt
Answers
Will do my best to answer.
1) Your example was a newer ROM on an older Hboot. I am going to older ROM on newer Hboot. Any difference.
2) No intention of turning S-on. Understand risks of modified Hboot. I do have stock Hboot if needed.
3) The RUU.exe is RUU_M7_UL_SENSE 5.0_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3_Radio_4A19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2
4) The RUU.zip is RUU Zip M7_UL_JB43_Sense50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3-decrypted
5) I did not copy the prompt screne on the ADB failure. I believe it was a parsing failure 24 on the Android-info.txt
6) Yes, using fastboot mode. Showing Fastboot USB and entering into the screen with the silver HTC logo.
7) I am honestly not sure if I checked both items for md5 sums.
8) I have to copy and paste the get var yet.
Working on the rest.

I was using the stock Hboot from the OTA via AT&T. I put in the modified one to drop the ugly tampered stuff. Though that might have had something to do with my problem. And tried again with the modified Hboot.
Checked both md5s and good to go there.

Output on oemRUU attempt
Here is what I get when I attempt to use the zip file to flash the phone.
It is the same whether unlocked or relocked.

C:\Android\platform-tools>fastboot flash zip jelly.zip

Think I got it fixed
Very busy right now but will report back and explain what I did.
Mainly due to being unfamiliar with different file types and which uses what method for update/load.

Back to 4.3 succsessfully
Ok, long process of learning. Found my problem was with the RUU that I was using. The md5 was ok. It just was not what was needed for using via fastboot.
Do not know what it is, but it has the following inside the zip file:
1) META INF folder
2)system folder
3)boot.img
Sure does not work for fastboot!!! I found a zip on here that had the right file name and was odexed. Downloaded, checked the md5, then unzipped to read the Android-info.txt file. All looked right. Made a backup of phone and loaded it on in.
Succsess!!! Of course I had to put TWRP back in and root the phone.
So, brief sequence of what I did:
1) OTA update from 4.3 to 4.4.2 caused problems with applications
2) Phone in stock form with Hboot 1.56
3) Unlocked phone - HTCdev website used
4) Rooted phone with SuperSU and installed TWRP
5) Played with ROMS and did not like any of them, decided to revert back to 4,3
6) Phone would not S-off with stock ROM using Rumrunner
7) Ended up with the combination of Android Revolution HD and Firewater. Used my UBUNTU Linux to perform S-off.
8) Back-up performed
9) Used zip file and fastboot to load 4.3
10) Now have Hboot 1.56 with 4.3 unlocked, stock Hboot, and S-off.
Thanks for listening to my rantings.
Maybe this will help someone else with an AT&T HTC One.

Hi All,
This might have been asked but couldn't find the right thread. I have rooted my phone, installed TWRP, super user but can't gain S-Off and don't want to spend $25 for sunshine. No custom rom installed. I am looking for options where I can get back to its original state.
Please help.
Regards,
Sam

RUU will restore your phone to 100% stock. Only thing that will stand out is "tampered" flag in bootloader. If you don't mind that, just flash your respective RUU

Thanks for your replies. I have tried "RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_Cingular_US_1.26.502.12_Radio_4A.1 4.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318450_signed_2.exe" but somehow it was error-ed out. I am not sure whether I am doing it right or not.
Any suggestions on which RUU executable should I consider for AT&T. The other one I found was ZIP. I have downloaded but nothing to execute. I have to say I am novice on this custom ROM process.
I truly appreciate your help.

First, post your fastboot getvar all output, but erase your JMEI and serial no. That way we will know more about your software, and will be able to point you in the right direction

So, you have that RUU.zip downloaded? And it's matching your firmware?

You need htc fasboot because regular fasboot can't handle files over 1.5 GB.

Here's a "how to" on Lollipop RUU flashing. Read the first page, and flash away [emoji4]
