Guys,
I was using ART in my phone, but when I installed Xposed, the phone change automatically for Dalvik. Have uninstalled it but still not change for ART anymore
what I have to do for use ART again?
Obs:
Rooted with SlapMyMoto e kill write protection with MotoWpNoMo..
It's one or the other. You can't have both right now.
I choose xposed over ART personally. ART reduced battery life and I didn't notice any improvements in performance to my eyes. I'm loving xposed though, lots of great options.

You should be able to uninstall xposed from the framework menu in the xposed app and then switch back to ART after a restart.

Hello Guys, since i've flashed twrp and rooted my phone, it doenst run in ART anymore. It keeps returning to dalvik. I change it back to ART and it reboots but with the dalvik. Anyone have any ideia there is some kind of incompatibility between twrp/root and art?
tyvm
Art is not very great at the moment....I wouldn't worry about it personally.

Normally I agree with you kj, but this time I wholeheartedly disagree. I've used ART on my Nexus5 and MotoX and have loved the smoothness and battery life benefits.
OP have you installed xposed? From what I understand it doesn't work with ART and will kick you back to Dalvik. It's one of the reasons I don't use xposed

I've never used art on my N7 or X.....so I'm just going by stuff I've read.
I would never debate anything I didn't have my own experience with. Lol
To me too tho....xposed is essential now...on all my androids...so art is out for me.

Yeap. I was using it and everytime i switched to art and reboot, it came with dalvik. Now after u saying that, i will try remove xposed. Tyvm bud!
On my Dev. Edition running the stock rom 4.4.2 but rooted with TWRP, Art works perfectly fine for me and I have noticed an increase in smoothness. I also am using Xposed and several modules including Gravity Box.
Edit: Nevermind, my bad. Art was working for me then Xposed kicked me back to Dalvik.

Then you're not using ART....
Your "increase in smoothness" is all in your head. If you run Xposed, it resets your runtime to Dalvik, as per the developer:
After installing Xposed, the runtime gets reset from ART to Dalvik. Can you stop it please? You can be glad that I implemented this, otherwise you would be in a bootloop know. Xposed isn't compatible with ART (yet).

I'm trying to enable and select ART as default Runtime
as specified here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550478
I''ve mounted Android Revolution HD 53.0, flashed the file at the end of the first post and i've that option visible in the "Developer Settings".
When I try to change from dalvik to ART, the phone ask me to reboot.
After the reboot the active runtime is Dalvik instead of ART that I've previosly selected.
Is it possible to use ART with customized ROMs?
I've activated Xposed Framework
Art don't work with Sense. Some AOSP or GE roms runs Art.

How did you manage to get the option to choose ART in ARHD 53??
Sense 5.5 doesnt have any support for ART. Neither do the early leaks of Sense 6. The final build of Sense 6 may support ART. But, for now, only GE roms support ART, not the Sense
Thanx
Thank you all...
So I think I have to wait XD
Yeah, also it requires an odexed ROM.
custom roms
today I've flashed ARHD 62 (with sense 6 interface), in order to enable ART, but it's still not working.
After I've selected ART as runtime, when I reboot the phone, it will stay for ever in the bootscreen.
So isn't ART working for all custom roms (cause they are not official roms)?
I've noted that also other features are not working yet maybe for the same reason (however this is a little bit off topic XD )

Art don't work because ARHD is deodexed, probably, and it requires a system odexed.
And for the gestures, they won't work forever, they will work only when some dev implements it on their custom kernel from the M8 source...
HTC said the our M7 won't have gestures with OTA.

Unfortunately, I didn't read this post before I tried the same on my M7!! Now, I'm stuck on the bootscreen. How were able to switch back to Dalvik?
Just received my brand new Z3,but already feeling the itch for some customization.
Someone already tried playing around with xposed?
It is fully working or at least some features?
Thanks
After rooting/bootloader unlocking the phone, I installed Xposed. It works well. I use the following:
App Settings - I made systemUI (and most of my non-sony apps) 240 dpi.
GravityBox (smaller nav bar, orange icons, replacement battery, AM/PM removal, 3 dot on nav bar right, search on nav bar left.
Tinted Status bar
Xperia Xposed - installed but I decided not to use anything
Please note, per conversations on general, unlocking the bootloader will irreversibly worsen the camera's low-light picture quality and kill native miracasting/chromecasting ability linked to Sony's DRM keys
I'm using tons of Xposed modules and I couldn't live without it. It's one of the greatest pieces of software ever written and I'll stay away from Android L until Xposed works on it. i never felt the urge to use CM or another rom since I'm using Xposed, GravityBox alone is such a mighty module that it replaces a plethora of third party rom features.
It's really hard to live without Xposed after having it for so long on my Moto X. I'm just not willing to lose the camera quality by unlocking the BL. Of course, there are other things I'm itching to do as well with root (like freezing and deleting lots of useless apps that suck battery!)
I am using xposed with
- xstana module
- tinted status bar
- gravity box
Everything works perfectly!

I don't mind losing some of the camera quality either, I believe that people will either find a way to reverse the process, or make something better.
I'm just waiting till I can backup my TA partition.

I istalled Xposed and run xled, xquiet hours and cyan lock screen the lose of the cameras low light abilty is not a big problem i use camera fv5 and change the iso settings
So no way in hell to get root without unlocking the bootloader?
i was using pie controls from gravitybox with navbar disabled, but i found out that pie doesn't appear when using camera with physical button with phone in standby.... anyone can confirm this?
I use XBlast and Xposed LED Control.
Both works fine. What does NOT work is GravityBox. But why? Can someone help me?
When trying to start it, it says "GravityBox System Framework does not answer" in german. in english perhaps its something like "cant retrieve System Framework data" or something like that.
It doesn matter how often i try, always the same error message

You need to enable it in Module and restart phone. After that you can do what you want! In Download section, you can find more module with search filter by typing: xperia

I think gravity Box can not handle sonys ui. Had it before on lg g2 stock rom. Just some features worked. Keep in mind that gb is actually for vanilla kitkat(aosp, maybe cm)
GB worked fine for me on the Z1C, but eventually some features require a deodexed rom. I've always been using RomAur.

I did not mean you have to enable xposed installer. I said: you have to enable GravityKK module by tick the box, do nothing more, restart the phone first. After that you can config without any framework message error!

Yes and as i said, i used Xposed before. what i want to say with that is : I know how Xposed works and how to use it. I know that you have to "activate" modules with the checkbox.
still, GB won't work.
Just rooted my phone and setting everything up. I noticed that android runtime is now an option in dev options. Anyone switch over from dalvic yet?
Not I. I like xposed modules.
Will wait for android L for what it is meant for.

Xposed or bust! Amen
Hi guys,
Unlike on nougat, Xposed installs and works just fine on 8.1.
Install zip in twrp. It takes a while to reboot. Install apk, open app. It says not activated. Reboot.
Once done, you can download the modules. Granted only a few work, it's still better than nothing. I have greenify and double tap status bar to sleep working.
You can search Oreo in the download section for the mods that work on Oreo.
Waiting and hoping for gravity box Oreo.
Download arm64 zip and apk. Cheers.

Old module or the one developer is reviving? I have no idea about the revival one but old one working on my 6p. You could try the option in gravity box Oreo.
