Best Battery Saving Kernels - Nexus 5 General

Hello Peeps,
I have a Nexus 5 with Cataclysm Rom and Faux123 Kernel. Previously I was using the CyanogenMod and Franco Kernel.
I looked around the forums for a thread on this but couldn't find one.
So I decided to make this thread so that we can argue out the top few kernels that really improve the Nexus 5 battery life. Some people were saying that the Faux123 kernel did improve the battery life but honestly I don't see much of a difference.
I also undervolted my device by 50 mV. So what is a good kernel for the Nexus 5?

There's a reason you couldn't find any comparison threads- Rule 4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500184

Define all? I've had great battery life on I897 roms, decent on i9000 ports
Best battery life i ever had was on Continuum 6.1 with Talon. But i had the charge bug too. Still 5+hrs display, plus about 30-40 minutes talk time is missed.
Have to agree...battery life on i897 since the kf1 leak up til now has been awesome.

Roms and kernel Ranking score

every body place here benchmark ranking with phone and place Result here for compare between different Roms and kernel
First
I send my rank with Holiks 0.6 with it's default kernel
Antutu and Quadrant
lol another one of "these" threads....
Benchmarks don't always directly relate to how well a ROM/kernel will do in day to day usage. They're just for show.

What would you guys recommend as the best kernel for battery life??

Yeah I've read that already but I've also read that the motley and omega kernels were the best but this test says otherwise. So I was just seeing what the majority of people would say. Do you have any preference for a battery saving kernel?

Franco's kernel is giving me pretty good battery life. Down to 17% with 4 and a half hours of screen on time and almost 5 days since last charge

Wow, I have about 6.5 hours of on screen time and like 16 hours total since last charge and I have 9% battery left. And I flashed some stuff and rebooted like twice so I'm sure that took up some battery too

+1 for franco
I consistently get 6+ hours of screen.

Battery life is much more relevant to how you use your tablet than the kernel. I get anywhere from 5-8 hours display time depending on if my usage is more gameplay or more browsing. The only kernel I actually saw a significant difference in battery life under same usage was faux kernel, performed well but my battery died noticeably quicker.
I now use omega 3 because it gives me faux like performance with stock like excellent battery. I used stock for the longest time, and still would if battery was my ultimate priority, but omega 3 smooths out some games and just about equals stock on battery life. I've never on any device actually had a custom kernel improve battery life over stock. What effects your battery life from day to day is primarily the days usage.

You are saying bull**** im sorry, but you never saw any kernel improve more battery than stock? Oh my god, what world you live?
Im a testing this every day since Galaxy S2... So i know what i saying...
I have the N7 5 days, and i test kernel stock for 3 days and i got 6.5h screen on time, after i installed Franco R42 and used the tablet the same way and i got 9h screen on time, now im testing intersect kernrel and i have 85% with 2h and 30min using the same way always
Resuming, any good custom kernel is better than stock.

my choice is still m+ kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1937146
I get screen times around sometimes more than 8+ hours with normal use ( web not high power consuming thd games)
This kernel supports man adjustments like undervolting and setting the frequencies.
its works with trickstermod which lets you even deactivate some Cores. Im running undervolted, underclocked
With just two cores without lag or something.
Give it a try

Lots of little changes in settings, uv, minimal frequencies for CPU, and no heavy gaming, not a lot of videos either

All your opinion based on your "said" usage. Fact is I got 9 hours screen time on stock if I kept gameplay out of the equation. So no I'm not saying bullish*t, I'm saying my results. Just because yours differ and you buy into the "custom is always better" doesn't make MY findings on MY device any less true. Can custom be better? Sure, but it's not fact that it is.
And you say you've only had your 7 5 days, definitely NOT enough time to get real results. Especially since you spent 3 days on stock and less than that on Franco your results obviously aren't same usage scenarios.
Clarification: same usage means about same amount of use in same timeframe doing same activity. Which 6½ hours usage over 3 days is not the same as 9 hours in less than 2.

You wrong
Stock kernel frequecy with 4 cores enable
No UV because Franco R42 not working
No heavy games you are correct.

And 9 hours screen on is maybe possible doing nothing at all CPU heavy!!". Not what most people get doing normal things on their tab. Anyone can keep the screen awake doing nothing really and post a screen saying they got 9 hours. 4 to 6 seems to be the norm. ..no matter the kernel.
That's my story....thanks for enjoying it!

Which is the best kernel !!!!!! POLL

I make this thread so that we can find the best kernel for nexus 4 and also the difference between the franco , trinity, and matrix and motley kernel.
So post ur experience and also share screen shot for battery like battery screen ,graph and screen time.
In this way we can also help the developers to build their kernel more good...

Lol at stock. It would have to be faux since he's done so many one of a kind enhancements

I'm on stock, but where's the actual poll?
I m using franco kernel r85 so its gud....with underclocking and undervolting i got 1:30 and device runing for 5hr 20mins scree time and battery is at 74%....
I will upload the screens ones i reach 5% juice....

These threads are frowned upon here at XDA for numerous reasons: there's no real answer, they turn into pissing matches and trolling, and this is actually the worst way to find the "best" kernel.
The one and only way to find what's "best" is for you personally to read and take the time to flash kernels and use them for several days under various real-world scenarios. Then and only then can you know.

Best Kernel for Battery

Hey everyone! I'm asking you guys what your best kernel for battery life is and why. I'm using stock cm10.1 here with faux kernel and it's pretty good.

No such thing as a "best" kernel. Everyone's use case is different, just try them all for yourself. There Is No Other Way™
