You need to buy a unlocked bootloader phone. I'm with a lock bootloader too...

If yours are in 4.1.2, downgrade to 4.0.4 and check Boot Loader unlock status again. Good luck.

Ofcourse not. There is no way to unlock your bootloader when it's locked with allowed = 'no'.

There's one case where your statement isn't true but it doesn't apply to AT&T Xperias, indeed.
Namely, if you use binary's rooting toolkit version 21 (and some other versions too) to obtain root on at least Xperia V (cannot say for the other models), the Service menu will show bootloader status as “unlock allowed: no” regardless of the actual bootloader lock state.

Have you tried it?

Flashing an older firmware version to a phone with non-unlockable bootloader will not solve the problem, as common retail firmware images from Sony do not alter the bootloader.

Have you ever tried it? My phone is TX, with 4.0.4 stock , bootloader status unlock said "yes", I upgraded to 4.1.2 and status said "no", did rollback to stock 4.0.4, I unlocked my TX bootloader. Do not give advice when you do not know it surely. I did it my own hand.

Maybe you rooted it on 4.1.2, and that's how it ended up like this.

It wouldn't be that easy don't get your hopes up now I could see maybe if some one found some way to do it like with the test point method with the Xperia arc it would be possible but I've previously looked around and haven't seen any body able to unlock there bootloader on this phone just yet I haven't taken a look lately but as far as I know it's not happening as of yet.

this is the the right point. and i think it should be a known Bug in the XT community
if you have bootloader unlock allow: yes
and then you root your 4.1.2
it will display bootloader unlock allow: no
but it is still unlockable (must be a little bug?!)
so....no, you will not unlock your bootloader easily your way

Seriously?
I also have this problem, the boot loader is locked and I need to install the recovery. Prompt really working bootloader unlock method, none of the methods I did not ride. Through the website Sony have an error occurs, full of requests to install the update file, it weighs 1.5 gigabytes. I do not have as much Internet traffic to download it.
Currenty is possible if you are both rooted and in FW 303. Try this.

Short answer - you can't unlock it ever.
The only exception would be if the status changed to disallowed after rooting. There is a fix for that somewhere in Doomlord's rooting thread.

Unless it was rooted, as this sometimes changes the status to 'No' as stated in the first post of Doomlord's thread. I used bin4ry's tool and the bootloader status was untouched.

Troubleshooting:
if your device has unlockable bootloader then after applying this hack the bootloader status will turn "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
in that case dont worry the users have reported that doing a repair via SEUS will flash back stock firmware and turn this status to "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" (the same might also be achieved by flashing a stock FTF using FlashTool )

Hello and welcome to the forums.
The only way to network unlock this device is with a code, either from the original network provider or from an online seller. It is not possible to unlock any other way.
Additionally, as you're new here, I will suggest you should start a new thread when you have a question in future instead of bumping a very old thread unrelated to your question.

I'm thankful that there are still wanting to address this issue of the bootloader not being unlocked. So my question is as such - Is there anyway (either by contacting T-Mobile, or Sony) that my phone, which is is SIM Unlocked (I know SIM unlock has nothing to do with bootloader unlock), can be bootloader unlocked? I'm just hoping that I can either get with Sony/Tmobile and have them do it, or even if there is a legitimate paid service out there then I will do that too! Any kind of help or anything would be appreciated! All I read is, 'If you're bootloader says no than that means NO', or I will often see people say that their bootloader says no and yet they can still enter fastboot mode.
Currently my device is Sony Xperia Z C6606 Tmobile version. I'm going to try to switch out my microUSB cord and see if fastboot works then. I'm still trying to have some kind of hope that maybe it will somehow work and I can flash a custom rom. Currently, whenever I plug in my phone into any computer, (with drivers installed) it never even shows up in the Device manager so I'm thinking it's an issue with my cord. It charges the device only.
Or should I just sell this phone and get a different android phone where I can unlock the bootloader? lol
Thanks!
You can only flash stock based roms with a stock, unmodified kernel.
Fastboot will connect even with a locked bootloader, but the commands you can use are extremely limited and in your case you cannot do anything with it at all. Your USB cable is not the problem.
If you want to flash CM/PA/AOSP etc, then you'll have to buy a new device. The bootloader is non unlockable. Nobody has cracked the security yet and I don't think anyone is even working on it, to be honest.
Sony or T-Mobile will not unlock it.

[Q] Bravia Engine - Is it worth it?

I unlocked my bootloader as soon as I got my phone. I would rather have an unlocked bootloader so I have the ability to flash custom roms and kernels then seen the colours a little brighter when watching videos and viewing pictures.

Yeah well the biggest downside to locked bootloader is no chance of AOSP roms :crying: luckily most of the Xperia's UI is pretty cool, particularly the Honami email, messaging and contacts. So after XperienceD's news about bootloader being locked if the handset came from a carrier, I can live with it for now... gonna try unlock it anyway

I'd prefer to keep it but would happily sacrifice it for the ability to be able to unlock my BL. You can try for nothing but if it does come from a carrier then I've yet to see anyone who has reported this change in status then go on to unlock it. I'll never have another Phone from a carrier that's for sure.
Is it worth?
Simply. Yes. That's my opinion.
Btw, I unlocked bootloader and I still have BE2, all these DRM keys. Is it normal?
Seems http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/ is intermittently down tonight loaded the web page earlier but can't load it now. Will check it out tomorrow, my phone is from Vodacom so it's a carrier phone.. this will be an interesting test. Is it normal for Sonymobile website to be down? It worked, unlocked my bootloader with a carrier issued handset I bought my phone from a dude when it was three months old. It came from Vodacom. It had the Vodafone logo splash screen when booting from stock and he showed me a photo of the registration screen at Vodacom when he picked it up. So I assume it was a carrier issued handset. Anyway, seems all is well now :highfive:

Unlock bootloader without losing DRM keys
Hey guys
I have a similar problem. I want to flash DoomLord's custom kernel but the command is not allowed. I found out bootloader unlock allowed does not mean it is unlocked yet, so that is the problem why it is not allowed. However, I do want to backup my DRM keys first. Is this possible? My phone was rooted before I flashed 4.3, so it is not rooted anymore.

u welcome!
just checked the screenshot says that BL unlock allowed: status YES which define that ur BL (bootloader) is not unlocked yet!
make sure u are using the appropriate tool that works for ur device after u get the BL code from Sony, then follow the instructions in Sony where u got the information about unlocking BL
first off... do not proceed with bl unlock until you backup your TA partition cuz u might brick ur phone after the unlock is done if something goes wrong!
is it's not really recommended... u can still root it with a locked bl and enjoy ROOT privileges... FYI, unlocking bl will erase DRM keys and might affect on ur TA partition too.... so keep in mind that Bravia Engine2 along with Track ID will stop working after unlocking ur BL
TA Partition backup

Xperia LT30at: Root, Unlock and Remove AT&T Apps?

In general, I would like ask about unlocking my Xperia LT30AT. I've unlocked a phone before but it has been a long time.
I seem to recall that when I unlocked my first phone, I downloaded a developer kit that you use to root and unlock the device. I am interested in doing that to my LT30at, but I don't want to use any custom roms like Cyanogenmod.
What I would like most of all to do: to
(1) root and unlock the phone,
(2) keep the (functionally) authentic Android OS, and
(3) Get all the AT&T apps off the phone for good.
...but I would settle for just the first one, for starters.
Any suggestions? Thanks! MX

it's interesting to me for the same model lt30at.
In addition I wanted to know if you lose your 4G LTE Thanks to all who respond
* P.S. many links to files in the root of the sony t is no longer usable
To root this device you should use the flashtool, you can't unlock bootloader at all. Me I rooted it added a recovery. Then flashed a unbranded firmware via the. Recovery. Kept root that caused everything to work pretty Ok now my att TL is rooted with 4.3 with a few bugs

Since you want the phone to be rooted, you have only 2 options:
1) If you want to stay on 4.1.2: flash any generic 4.1.2 FTF using Flashtool and exclude the baseband in the process, then root the device.
2) If you want to upgrade to 4.3: follow the guide in my signature.
Bootloader cannot be unlocked.

If you update to 4.3 using Flashtool you will lose root access to the device because there is no exploit available yet. Carrier lock is SIM lock and is managed separately from ROMs.

Are you sure it's "bootliader unlock allowed: yes"? LT30at have always come with locked bootloader.
Carrier lock us SIM Lock. As I've said before it's nit affected by any kind of flashing. It's stored in a different location.

You're probably the first person I've seen with a TL with at&t firmware (I'm assuming since it's 120 firmware) that has an unlockable bootloader.
Yea I must 2nd that how did that happen
