Hello,
I purchased Netgear PTV3000 recently, and I really enjoy it with my Galaxy S3.
now, I want to use it with my kindle.
The Kindle HDX already contain the function, which is from android 4.2+.
Our kindle Fire HD is based on 4.0.4 so it does not have the function.
I installed couple of CM10.1 based roms, but all of them miss the "wireless display" function.
It should be on the Display section in the setting, but they are not.
Is there any way to use it on CM10, CM10.1 or CM11?

Updated to the CM-11 M6 build cm-11-20140505-SNAPSHOT-M6-tate and Camera is working now
Hi XDA,
is it possible to share the screen of the Fire to my FireTV?
Like it works with the Fire Phone or the HDX Tablets?
Thanks for any information you can give me!
Regards,
EZTEQ
Just tried it yesterday, I couldn't find it, it is just the FireTV remote, no share screen.
Maybe install all cast on the fire tablet then install allcast reciever on the fire tv?
Maybe after installing the Google Playstore, install the chromecast app?
Could someone tell me if the latest CM 11.0 incorporates amaces and Jon Lee's improvements for screen flicker and smoothness? Jon Lee talked about updating a CM 11.0 ROM with the latest improvements but I don't think he ever got around to it. The reason I don't use one of the newer ROMs is because I use the screen casting feature a lot. Last I saw, amaces wasn't able to get that feature to work on CM 12.0 and CM 13.0.
And if the improvements haven't been incorporated, any chance someone could build a CM 11.0 ROM with them? TIA

FWIW -
I've using CM11 shortly after when it first came out, currently on the 11/22 nightly, and never have had screen flickering problem.
Also, I can do screen mirroring from specific apps (NetFlix, YouTube, ...) to my Panasonic Viera TV and Chromecast, but I've not been able to fire up screen casting via Settings->Display_>Screen Casting.

Thanks for the response. I currently use Temasek's CM11.0 ROM. I've been getting screen flickering when I'm browsing the web. Think I'll do a backup and give the latest CM 11.0 a shot to see if the flickering goes away.
As for screen casting, this is how I got it to work:
I was finally able to get the Nook HD+ to cast to Chromecast. If I used only the Chromecast app, it would immediately disconnect when I would select cast screen to the Chromecast. It turns out I needed the mirror enabler app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 . And the tricky part is that the latest version of the mirror enabler app (v7) doesn't work with the Nook HD+. You need to use an older version such as v6 or v5.
After downloading mirror enabler v6, I started the app and enabled the 3 options. Then I rebooted the tablet. After it rebooted, I went into Settings>Display>Cast Screen. Make sure the option for Cast Screen is turned on and that you have your Wifi turned on. You should see your Chromecast device listed on your tablet. Just tap on it and it should cast to your TV screen. When you want to disconnect, just tap on the Chromecast device again and hit disconnect. That is basically it.
Hello,
since Amazon Fire lacks Miracast capabilities, I wonder if it was possible to enable it?
I would assume the Problem is, that Settings.apk lacks Display Mirroring.
Would it be possible to install the Settings.apk from Fire HD on the Amazon Fire?
Miracast should already be integrated in the stock lollipop Rom. Maybe we just have to find a way to enable it.
If somebody could upload the fire hd LP Settings.apk, i would give it a try.
Does anybody know, if those custom roms include miracast/Screemirroring?
Have a nice day.

TMK none of the custom ROMs for this device support AOSP screen mirroring. Simply porting a different settings UI (nearly impossible w/o significant side effects) is not the issue. I don't see this being high on the priority list as last discussions were in early 2016. Gotta believe kernel support is biased toward Amazon's own casting gizmos complicating implementation. FWIW - Chromecast does work with the usual suite of Google apps/services.
Since Miracast is officially supported by fire HD tablets, I would assume, that the functionality could already be implemented. We only have to find a way to enable it. Thus, I would try the settings apk. Maybe we could extract it from the fire HD upgrade file? Unfortunately I have no Idea how to open system.new.dat file in the upgrade zip.

Bad idea (settings apk is not generic) and suggests the developers are overlooking such a simplistic solution. Happy hacking ...
