Accidentally Deleted Calender - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Last night I was going through deleting bloatware from N3 and deleted a few calender entries, they had the old green calender logo and I use the blue current google calender so I figured I was safe. Now no calenders show up under my account within the app, under accounts it doesn't have a checkbox to check for the calender to even sync.
I've searched and tried various things to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So far I've tried to take the apk from gapps and move it to system/apps. I can install the googlecalender.apk but the calenderstorage.apk fails to install. I've also tried to use another gmail account and get that to sync. When I do that calender sync shows up (when it asks what you want to sync with checkboxes) but it shows up as com.android.calender (or something similar) whereas all of the other options show up normally (Sync Contacts, Sync Pictures etc) and after I let it sync the calender it just says sync has encountered error and then that option disappears totally.
I've also tried to restore an old calenderstorage I had on tibu and that doesn't work either. I've spent much of the day reading and trying various things to no avail. Would a factory reset do the trick? If I factory reset do I lose root? If I have to factory reset I will but I don't want to go through the hassle if it's not a sure thing.

Contacts not pushing to Google?

I have noticed this issue for awhile now. If i make a change to a contact on my phone it never gets pushed to GMail. Has anyone else noticed this? I have made sure Contacts was checked in Data Synchronization, i have even made changes, unchecked it then rechecked it and watched it sync. But those changes never make it to Google's servers. I know it worked in RC33 but i don't think it has worked since.
I do a lot of flashing and constantly keep losing new contacts or updates because of this. Its kind of a pain in the arse to remember what and who i changed in my contacts to update when i am at a machine.
Anyone?
Well you can buy mybackup pro and backup your contacts...But make sure you uncheck syncing of contacts in the data/synchronization settings. Never ran into that problem before.
you can try force-updating.
after you make a change, go to settings>data syncronization, uncheck and then check again the "Contacts" field, it will force a sync.
You should consider moving to a cupcake build already too, if only for the camera
Same deal
I have been having problems trying to sync up my contacts too. Everything is correct and the way that I want it on my phone and I want to push those updates to Google, but it constantly fails. Sometimes it fails with an little exclamation point next to the sync icon and sometimes it doesn't. I have tried it on both my rooted and unrooted g1 and I still have no luck even though I switch the sim card. I use mybackup pro and have been for a while but the file output format is nothing that can be uploaded to google (ie csv file) so I'm not sure where to go from here. Anyone have any ideas as to why the sync fails? My only thought is that Google refuses to sync because I am trying to sync a large number of contacts on my phone, with a very small number of contacts on google servers. Xmarks (formerly foxmarks) for Firefox does the same thing, it won't allow you to sync a large amount of information one way without giving you a popup message so your away of it just in case you don't realize that you are overwriting data. Maybe Google servers are similar only without the warning message?
My contacts NEVER sychronized with Google. Gmail works fine, MyMaps also synchronize but contacts and calendar never. And I don't even have these options in Data Synchronization menu (only Auto-synk and Gmail). Any ideea how I can fix this?
Thank you!

[Q] [Help] Calendar stuck syncing, freezes phone if opened

Hi all,
I'm running SpeedMod Kernel and stock Froyo 2.2.1. I did have Darky's ROM installed, but I've reset all caches, reformatted all things reformattable and reinstalled stock firmware (though not stock kernel... where does one find that!?).
Anyhow, the issue is (and I've done 5 factory resets so far, same problem each time) that when I set up my Google account, the phone endlessly syncs the calendar (little icon displayed on task bar and icon next to calendar in sync settings rotating). If you try to open the calendar app itself the entire phone hangs and you have to force restart. Also if I leave it for a while and come back it has frozen and needs to be forced to restart. It never stops syncing the calendar...
Has anyone encountered this problem and/or has a solution.
On a possibly related note, some of my appointments in Google Calendar have disappeared... did the phone delete them in it's mental sync antics?
This is really starting to annoy me...!
Thanks for your help!
PS. I have also tried clearing the data in the Calendar and related sync apps in app manager. Can it be that I have so much Google Calendar data to sync? It's been syncing on wifi for over 3 hours now... but Calendar app shows 0 kb, Calendar data shows about 300 kb and Calendar sync helper things shows 200 kb or so....
UPDATE: I've seen others on other forums having this trouble, even without mucking about with firmwares. Their suggested (and often successful) solution was to clear all caches and data and take the battery out for some time to let things discharge. I've done this... and the problem persists. Does anyone know if you can contact Google and have them look at the server side to see if something has snarled up there?
Any help appreciated!

Help my fix 'Contacts' please

Hi. I have a rooted Captivate with Froyo and a few weeks ago, my Contacts (the app) started acting up.
At first, my contacts (all Google contacts) would disappear and reappear randomly. Now my contacts are all gone, except for a few 'Unknown' ones which are recent callers. What's worse, now Contacts won't open most of the times and when it does, it makes the phone really slow or it force closes.
I don't recall (un)installing or modifying anything and I REALLY don't want to reset my phone.
At the time I was using GoDialer from the market but uninstalling it didn't change anything. Maybe it broke something. Is there a way to reinstall the Contacts app or files?
Anyway, I appreciate any help.
If you saved all your contacts under your gmail account you should be able to get them all back as long as you choose the "sync contacts" under account settings for gmail.
log into gmail, confirm that all of your contacts are there, and try clearing the data for the Contacts application. Then resync and hopefully you are all set. Maybe do a titanium backup of your contact data first, too, just to be 100% sure you don't delete anything.

[Q] [Help] Google Calendar sync broken

I can't get Google calendar to sync on my D415. I don't see anything under "Calendars to display" and "Calendars to sync" stays at loading forever when I push it. Same when I try to add an event. In Settings > Accounts and Sync it has a sync error for my Google account, but Calendar isn't even in the list and everything else looks like it sync'ed okay.
I have tried re-installing Calender, wiping data for Calendar and Calendar Storage (with Titanium Backup), removing and adding my Google account, factory reset, but nothing worked.
Phone is stock atm, and rooted. Anybody have any tips what else I could try (aside from flashing a new ROM )?
My calendar also is not syncing. I'm in CM11 in my D410hn

Contacts syncing forever

Hi!
I reset my nexus 6 today, after booting up it is taking forever to sync my contacts. In Settings -> Accounts -> google account, it is showing that it is syncing contacts but never does. In contacts app it takes a 4-5 seconds to show my contacts, but strangely only contacts with no pictures are displaying only. No contact with a picture shows up. And still it is taking forever to finish sync.
I have tried everything but can't seem to solve this issue. I restarted, turned sync off and then on again, cleared data and cache of all relevant apps (phone, contacts, contacts storage, contacts sync) and even reset again.
Can you guys suggest something else.
So I deleted some 10,000 contacts, making total contacts to 2,000. And it solved the problem.

Click to collapse
That will do it. On older devices used to get Acore.process has stopped FC for same reason. It gets tired and times out.
