USB Debugging - Samsung Galaxy Gear

I had usb debugging available before but now it does not appear. I had tried going to settings, gear info and then tapping serial number 7 times but it did not work. Any suggestions?

I can't post links yet but google for "Samsung Galaxy Gear Updating to Build V700XXUAMK on Verizon – Rids App of USB Debug, Includes Improvements" to get the bad news.
Improvements for whom?

Tap build nr not serialnumber.

It actually worked tapping random sections 7 times until a notification countdown appeared. Thanks...next issue is getting Fleksy to work. After sideloading and installing, it seems to freeze and give an error message.

Installing applications from PC to phone

Today afternoon I ran into a situation where I had a new Nexus 4 in my hands , but no sim card and hence no Internet for my phone .
I wanted to install applications ( apps , games etc ) on my phone . All I had was my laptop with an internet connection . I googled for information to install apps directly on my phone from my laptop . After a lot of search , I found this - Moborobo
I did the following steps -
1) Enabled the USB Debugging mode on my Nexus 4 .
HOW TO FIND AND TURN ON USB DEBUGGING MODE IN ANDROID 4.2 AND HIGHER
To see the option for USB debugging mode in Android 4.2 or higher, do the following :
a) Open up your device’s Settings. This can be done by pressing the Menu button while on your home screen and tapping System settings.
b) Now scroll to the bottom and tap About phone .
c) At the “About” screen, scroll to the bottom and tap on Build number seven times.
d) Make sure you tap seven times. If you see a You are now a developer! message pop up, then you know you have done it correctly.
e) Done! By tapping on “Build number” seven times, you have unlocked USB debugging mode on Android 4.2 and higher.
Now go to “Settings” -> “Developer Options” -> “Debugging” ->” USB debugging” to enable USB Debugging .
You can now enable/disable it whenever you desire by going to
“Settings” -> “Developer Options” -> “Debugging” ->” USB debugging”.

2) Then performed the following steps -
a) Click on the Settings in the APPS menu page .
b) Click on the Device - Storage .
c) Click on the small icon on the upper-right corner of the screen .
d) Click on the USB Computer connection .
e) Select the Camera(PTP) option.
Your android device can be detected only if this mode is selected

3) Go to Settings -> Security and check Unknown sources
4) Now download Moborobo . (Google it)
5) You can now directly install apps to your phone .
I found it useful and wanted to share .
I have an easier solution
Start the phone
connect to wifi
Setup gmail account
Go to www.play.google.com
Login with you gmail account and install apps by pressing install
Can't get easier than that
If your PC has internet its most likely you have WiFi at home so.....?

No USB degging???

I seem to have lost the ability to check off USB debugging since upgrading my Gear... has this happened to anyone else? ... I see no mention of it here. Is there a fix for getting it back?

Yes it works!
Go to the settings menu, and scroll down to "About gear." Tap it.Scroll down, where you see "Software version". Tap it seven (7) times. After the third tap, you'll see a playful dialog that says you're four taps away from being a developer. (If only it were that simple, eh?) Keep on tapping, and *poof*, you've got the USB Debug option back.

USB Debugging

Ok, so I see these words a lot and I want to proceed in learning.
So can anyone tell me what this is and how do I "turn it on" or how do I access it in my phone. I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure exactly what it is but I can tell you how to turn it on.
Settings --> General Tab --> About device --> Tap the build number repeatedly and you will see the message "You are X steps away from becoming a developer." Just keep tapping and it will say that developer mode is enabled. Developer options will be at the bottom of the General tab. You'll see USB debugging in those options.

Cannot enable USB debug mode...Please help

I cannot enable Usb Debug mode on my Gear, any idea what I am doing wrong?
On my gear, I am gong to apps-->Settings--Gear info
When I tap gear info, there is not check box to enable USB debugging.
Any help would be great, I really want to root this thing.
see the tutorial here
also here is the exact page from that for Debug
Very easy solution for this one. Go into your Gear Info, and to About Gear. Then tap the build number 7 times. Back out and the option should be there.

FYI, this technique to enable USB debugging works for all Android devices running Jelly Bean 4.2 and higher, not just the Gear.

Developer Options Does * NOT * Enable

I have a H872 running on 11G. I am not able to enable developer options.
I've done the whole going into "About Phone" and tapping on build, no go.
I've rebooted and that didn't work.
A hard reset didn't work.
Trying in safe mode didn't work.
I've tried a fresh install via the 11G kdz and that didn't work.
I tried QuickShortcutMaker to try to get there and that didn't work.
I tried Nova Launcher's shortcuts option (suggested by someone a couple of years ago, in a post on the G5) and that didn't work.
I've run into a wall at this point and would welcome * any * suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, you're sure you tapped the "Build Number" in "Software info" in "About phone" a total of 7 times? Usually I'll just spam it to be safe until it shows that Developer Settings has been enabled as a toast. Developer Options should also just be in the "General" tab in settings about "About Phone".
@FrumpyElk you can try this:
*#546368#*872# in the dialer app. a "hidden menu" comes up and you can turn on usb debugging (SVC/LDB)
hope that helps!
No luck guys. The USB Debugging option is grayed out (when I go through the dialer). I can't even get to the About Phone screen anymore. I only see two things in the phone's settings - Wifi and Tethering. Nothing else. I can't even shortcut to it.
for some reason i had this too.. i couldnt select the usb debugging option it was greyed out. so i was trying a whole slew of things then i found myself back at the svc menu enabling port diag so i could mess with some boxes (i was murdering frp) and i thought "why not" and click on LDB and holy cow it wasnt greyed out. can not re-create dont want to but i think it was the port diag thing maybe by turning that on i could also then turn on the ldb thing? i dunno but i broke the hardest frp yet so im smiling.
I am facing similar issue. Cannot enable USB debugging or OEM Unlock for life of me.
Tried so many tutorials on youtube.
Even dialing *#546368#*872# in the dialer app. "A "hidden menu" comes up and you can turn on usb debugging (SVC/LDB)" . That menu is also disabled for me !
I am doing this in order to bypass FRP, I'm officially stuck.
Any insights or thoughts ?
