HELP! Key Lock not working after enabeling device password

Having gotten no help from HTC im posting this here (previously sent as a support request to HTC)
Afther having set a device password (Settings > Personel > Lock) I'm unable to enable the Key Lock. I checked the following settings:
- Settings, Long Press End Key is set to Automatically Execute: Lock Device
- Settings, Key Lock is set to Lock all buttons except Power button.
I get no error messages, the only thing I see when holding the End Key is a short flicker of the screen, after which the Home Screen comes up. Do note that the keys are not appropriately locked.
ROM version installed is latest HTC original ROM:
_HTC Touch Diamond_MR_RUU_Diamond_HTC_NOR_2.03.409.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship
So far all i have gotten from HTC is the following response:
Dear Sir/Madame, Thank you for contacting HTC Europe. We can confirm that this is a feature on the Touch HD. It might change in future updates, but at the moment the setting cannot be changed. Don't know if it's just an automated respons or they just can't be bothered to give a sane message.
1) Why are they refering to Touch HD when I clearly stated that it was the Diamond i was refering to
2) They can't seriously expect anybody to belive that it works as intended and you aren't supposed to be able to lock you phone when you have set up a device password
Does anybody have a fix or any experience with how to get though to HTC?

Sounds really odd, but I got what I wanted with TouchLockPro software.
Touch HD is having the same "issue" and maybe that explains HTC supports reply.

Thanks Meiz, that actualy made a stange kind of sence. Couldn't help my self probing HTC a bit more so i replied to their original answer with:
Are you really telling me that im not supposed to be able to use the Lock Device function when a device password is set? Im sorry but that seems totally insane!

Lock 2.0 themes

I was wondering if any theme developers were going to start adding themes for Lock 2.0. I think it would be cool to have a Lock 2.0 theme to match your desktop theme.

the xml doesnt allow certain changes
it will mostly be skins

skins would be pretty nice, but just the fact you can change the background for it alone makes me love it. im also loving the new update which completely removes the menu screen.

Yeah its not dependant on a theme. Its a stand alone app but it would be cool if theme creators edited Lock 2.0 to go with their themes.

From what I can gather from the FAQ (which is not the clearest) is that the Menu unlock is no longer there (at least for the paid app), so the slide unlock, unlocks the phone.
I wonder how it works if I have the lock pattern set on my phone? I guess I would slide to unlock and then put in my unlock pattern?

It's pretty pointless then. Like aad4321 said, why would I want to unlock my phone twice? Hell, in my case with the pattern lock, it would be three times right? Menu > slide to unlock > pattern unlock.
I would go through all that if there was a password protection app, but not for something like this.

On mine the menu lock is gone. The latest version by passes that.

How did you get it to disable the menu option? It doesn't seem to work with me, or am I missing something else?

When i write mz gmail adress and pass and it pass me than it say SIGNED IN SLIDE KEYBOARD BACK TO CONTINUE. when i slide it back nothing happend. i try reflash FW. please help. What can be there broken? any sensor which know when is keyboard up or down? or any mechanical thing? heelp

Did you wipe before flashing?

Yes. notthing happend. I must know what hardware part is bad. and replace it.

OK! PROBLEM SOLVED! I founf excellent magnet in Notebook HDD. It was 1mm high. (excellent) and i can broke it east that i can make about 7x5x1mm magnet then i use glue and everythings work

Just one question, does "Virgin" appear on your lock screen? It doesn't appear on the lockscreen or notification bar but it shows up in Settings > About > Status. That's on Cyanogen Mod 4.17, on Hero it shows up as normal. When using an O2 SIM the carrier shows up as normal on Cyanogen 4.17.

I did wonder this too. I'm using AOSPX 4.0.4 BR6 and it's a problem I can't work out.
I also had a problem adding a 2nd Google Drive account, but this was fixed by adding another Google account. This is different to how the Drive worked in Virtuous Quattro RC3, which allowed you to add another account directly from within the Drive app.
Any ideas anyone? Or is the feature removed from AOSP/AOSPX?

Staying on topic here, there are no such options for the lock screen customisation in AOSPX 4.0.4 BR6. All there is are:
1. SCREEN LOCK - Slide, Password, Pin, Pattern etc.
2. OWNER INFO - obvious.
There are no settings to customise the lock screen or icons in any other way. Although Quattro RC3 did have this option, because I set it.
A 'long' hold of the MENU button on the HOME screen brings up some preferences, I thought it might be in here, but actually all this does is allow you to configure the HOME screen, i.e. number of home screens, search bar persistence etc.
Any other ideas? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure its in pure aosp... but not positive (not running a pure aosp so I can't test...) so as of right now I have no other suggest ions except maybe go the thread of your aosp from and ask there...or preferably its q&a thread if one exists

No lol, that was cm9 on my Samsung infuse (I own both the vivid and the infuse)
-i can attempt to compile aospx for the vivid a little later...although I'm no dev like syn... so it would most likely by really buggy...

Lock Options (Lock and Trick)

Hi Guys,
Got an intention for having an extra feature in Android !!
I am not an expert developer, so wanted to let you guys decide if its good or bad
In Android we have different types of lockscreen(security) options, if we can have another option which would show as: Lock and Trick ; as in the image attachment.

Assumptions: you use PIN/password to lock/unlock
what this would do is:
whenever you choose this option and lock the screen, and if next time someone tries to enter in the passcode/password it would check the password as it checks and would inform that one of the digits that he/she entered is right (trick), and he/she should try the other 3 digits.
We can have an option were we can select any digit to trick the person meaning for eg., I would configure it such that it would show up that "the 3rd and 4th digit is right please try the other two" and the person would actually be tricked. Provided we would need some maths in senerios where the digits are actually right !!:laugh:
Lastly,can we also have the same thing for pattern ??:good:

It would be much better if you had to enter the current time displayed on your phone. How many of you wondered what time is it and then unlocked your phone to go text or look something up forgetting completely to look at the time?

Hi ,
I am not taking about any security controls/new-methods !! YES i am suggesting a useless feature which can save your phone some time if its stolen.
Its not for security, it should be used to trick people believing that they know some digits of your password !!:angel:

isn't gesture unlock a generic rom feature liquid smooth has it as I'm using it

I think the best lock option is a pin code. Slide pattern can be discovered
