some roms state that they need a unlocked bootloader but i don't see why they wouldn't work on a locked bootloader. you just need to have safestrap installed so you can flash the roms.
But really there is no reason for roms on this phone. Remove the bloatware via Titanium backup and then install xposed framework with gravity box and you can customize your phone to your liking.
There is. I need the international language option that the carrier free Kit Kat provides. My nexus 5 has all languages available. My AT&T Moto X has 4, count them, 4 languages available.

If I get the Dev Edition of the HTC One, which forum do I use to get ROMs for it? There's no dev edition forum, only international, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
You can install any custom rom to the dev edition, so you are in the correct forum.
creatig custom rom

Is that not the case for the carrier specific editions?

Dev Edition has unlocked bootloader by default. If you by carrier editions with locked bootloader, you'll have to unlock it first.

Yes, but are there incompatibilities between the hardware of each addition such that there need to be ROMs made for specific handsets. For example, ROMs for the GSM Galaxy Nexus don't usually work with my Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
I made the moronic move of updating to 4.4.2 before rooting my GSM unlocked variant. Great. I want to root just so i can have Viper Audio and Xposed UI tweaks. Im on the GSM unlocked motomaker variant, i would like to root without unlocking my bootloader because i love the boot animation and that ugly pop up looks repulsive, but if the only way of rooting is by unlocking my bootloader then could someone point me in the right direction for a 4.4.2 GSM variant? Oh and is there a way to remove the ugly unlocked bootloader warning message ?

Ok so I see that there's aesop roms for this device, is this the AT&T version?
I know for the AT&T s4 you had to have a certain baseband or modem in order to install custom roms on it.
Is this the case for the S4 active AT&T version? or does it have an unlocked bootloader and ANY version you have you can root/install custom roms?

There are two versions of the Galaxy S4 Active: the U.S./AT&T version (model # SGH-i537) and the international version (model # SGH-i9295). The answer to your question depends entirely on which one you have. As far as I understand the international version has an unlocked bootloader and therefore is capable of running AOSP-based roms, custom recovery, etc.
HOWEVER. If you have the U.S. version i537 (and I suspect you do given you mention AT&T) your bootloader is locked and unfortunately there is nothing you, I, or the devs can do about it. You simply cannot flash AOSP ROMs or recoveries. There is still a way to root this phone and a piece of software called SafeStrap that acts like a custom recovery (nandroid backups, install zips, wipe data, etc.). You can run custom roms, but there's a huge catch: you have to keep the stock kernel and any rom has to be touchwiz-based.

Alright got it, thanks! I was just confused because I remember them announcing it was AT&T exclusive. I didn't know about the international one

Yes, you just need to flash the 4.4.2 modules afterwards.
Hey guys,
I am a bit confused about all that branding stuff. I live in Germany and I got my phone from "Telekom" with branding.
Is Telekom = T-Mobile Branding ? And yes I get this ·T··· Logo on Bootup.
Also if it's T-Mobile Branding is there anything specific I have to look at ? Because I want to root and unlock my phone and remove the branding.
Also I want the posssibility to switch to a custom ROM. I saw there are two sections for Galaxy S6, one normal and the other one t-mobile.
Can I also just use the ROMs and rooting methods from the the normal section or do I need to stay in the T-Mobile section ? I am really confused with
all this branding **** and the differences between the devices.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6 (Bought from Telekom with Branding in Germany)
Modelnumber: SM-G920F
Android-Version: 5.1.1
Even though your device may be T-Mobile, your section is actually the normal S6 section, this is for T-Mobile USA branded devices G920T

You can't flash Roms with Odin, you need a custom recovery. You can flash firmware, kernel, modems or recovery with Odin. There are no aosp roms for the S6, they will all be based off samsung firmware

Wait ONLY TouchWiz roms are available for Samsung Galaxy S6 ?! why ?
Another thing. If I want to flash recovery on my branded phone, do I just flash a recovery or do I need to root and unlock first ?!
Also what happens with the branding and the simlock ?!
Yes only TouchWiz. Has to do with some Samsung sources being closed for their chips I believe.
Depending on what firmware, all you have to do is go into developer options, turn on OEM Unlocking, after that you can flash custom recovery.
Branding will stay the same unless you flash another rom.
Sim lock will stay the same. So if it's locked to T-Mobile it'll stay locked

I heard it would be possible to unlock Samsung Galaxy S6 and remove the branding. Also I couldn't find any OEM Unlocking in the developers options ?!

It will not unlock by just flashing a debranded rom, you need another method. If you couldn't find that option in developer options then you have an older firmware and the option is not needed. I recommend you search your section for more info. There is a lot of things to learn about this device

That happened to me... I could not find the option "OEM Unlocking"
It was changed places.
Now it is in "Lock screen and segurity" -> "Unknown sources"
I do not know if it is really equivalent, but must be active if you want to install software from the same phone or sdcard.
Hi All!
I really want a note 5 rom. I have the att note 3. Curious, if I unlock my att to be able to be used on tmobile, will I be able to use the note 5 rom made for the tmobile note 3?
TIA
Does your phone have a locked bootloader? If it does, you cannot install a rom unless it is installable via safestrap. A lockd bootloader rules out cm and aosp based ROMs too.
How do I find out? I bet it is locked.

What rom is in the phone? If it is 4.4.2 or newer, it's locked.
