Well i havent used my gear for a while, but today i decided that i will start using it again. Took it out, plugged it into my laptop it started charging so i started thinking that i want to turn it on and play with it while its charging so i turned it on... Booting and no problems
Stupid me decided immideatly after boot that i should plug it into a socket so it would charg faster, well the same second i plugged my gear of my laptop it died and now its completely dead... it wont react to charging it wont boot.... nothing....
I tried searcing but i didnt find anything that solved my issue...
This must be my worst week of all time... i left my N3 at the service center yesterday hopefully the Gear dosent need to join...
i had similar issue. but i just kept pressing and holding the power button many times and one time i got a samsung logo that said 'rebooting' or 'restoring', don't remember.. but everything is ok now.

It is a common problem with any device that goes completely dead, give 5 min or so it will build up enough battery to show it is charging, it has happened a couple of times on my Infinity tablet, gear, a couple phones and my note 3

Hi,
I've been using my beloved Nexus One since day one, almost 2 years ago.
I now have a GNex so I'm using the N1 only as a GPS in the car, and for android development and testing under android 2.3.
Last time the battery was dying, so I put it on charge (on the original HTC Charger) during the night.
In the morning it was off, and I'm unable to turn it on. It doesn't vibrate when I hold the power button.
I removed the battery and tried again, same.
I tried to plug it, remove the battery and put it back (as it normally boots the device without pressing the power button): same, it won't boot.
I left the device alone for a while, and then after like 30min it was all hot as when I'm heavily using it. Still black screen, no vibrate while pressing the power button.
I tried to plug USB and power it, windows says "the USB device didn't function properly" (translated from french "Le périphérique USB n'a pas fonctionné correctement")
I tried every combination of power, volume up/down, trackball.. nothing...
Any clue?
I have no idea if this will help you it not, but when my OG Milestone overheated one day, it would not respond to anything, much like your phone. I thought it was dead and so I ordered my beloved N1 as a replacement. About a week later, still holding onto a shred of hope, I decided to power on my OG Milestone because I missed it too much. To my surprise, it turned on! It was fully functional after that, and is still working fine. Apparently with Milestones, this was a common thing to have happen if they overheated so none of the internal stuff gets damaged...
Maybe this is your situation also? I hope this gets fixed for you! :-(

yeah I was thinking leaving it alone for a while. Haven't waited a week yet, though. Hope it's just temporary! I was also thinking of leaving the battery die. Only problem is the overheating, I'm afraid it might damage something inside...
Thanks for the input!
Any result yet. My phone did the same thing

Hi Guys,
This is exactly the same as my original Note (N7000). Been using it happily for like 7+ years..... Been on custom roms from the day I bought it, second hand off a friend of a friend.
Last time, before it died... It was on.
Recovery = TWRP 3.x.x
OS = Resurrection Remix 5.8.5
Woke up one money, to find the phone had rebooted itself for no reason. It was stuck on the "Samsung Note GT-N7000" screen.
So I held down the "3x finger salute combo" to reboot it, which it did... but still stuck on the Samsung Logo. So I left it like this, whilst I drove to work for like 15 / 20 minutes, see if it would progress further.
Got to work, still stuck on the Samsung Logo. So I pulled the battery, re-inserted it... hoping it would boot back up. That was the last I ever saw of my Note, never to live again...
No idea what caused, or why it won't even boot into any kind of mode??
I thought the likes of TWRP was supposed to prevent BrickBug? I guess not.....
Won't power on at all, won't charge (doesn't even get warm).
I've left on charge, I've tried other batteries (that are like 70% charged). I've tried USB JIG....
It's dead Jim, but not as we know it...
Any clues, any recovery options???
Cheers, Lister
I have a GT-i9000 it's about 1 year old and about a week ago it turned off completely.
Power button didn't respond, holding it down for 2 minutes with and without the battery, power/usb cord plugged and unplugged didn't work.
Nothing I did would power this damn thing on.
I decided to take to a cellphone service and they called me the same day telling me that the phones cpu is dead.
I didn't have any custom firmware installed on it nor any roms or software like that so my question is what could be wrong with the phone and what may I attempt in order to fix this thing, FYI I do not trust the cellphone service that the CPU is dead.

So I finally picked up my nexus 7 from best buy. Got home started to power it up and it died before I was able to input my info. So I plugged it into the charger and I cannot power it up. I occasionally get to the Google animation but it turns off shortly after. I've left it charging for 30 min and still nothing. Has anyone run into similar issues?? Please all advice welcome
Normally, there should be at least a third of the full power left.
But in any case, just leave it charging for a while.
For a few times I had problem powering up (not because of no power), I had to keep it plug in and keep holding the power button on for a few seconds and then let go and try again... I had to do this a few times..... It is a matter of trial and error.

You just bought it?
Take it back, and demand a new one. It's not you fault it's not turning on.

Pissed off!! So I left charging over night and in fact I just got home and its still not booting up at all! How can I have this bad of a did!?!? I just picked it yesterday and haven't even had it for 24 hrs. I headed to best buy and what's even worse is I know they don't have any in stock. To make things worse I'm going on vacation for a month in a week and I doubt I'll have one by then. Pretty disappointed at this point!
Hi All,
My Note 3 suddenly switched off over the weekend and wouldn't turn on. I did try battery pull, tried rebooting to recovery, tried connecting to Laptop, it wouldn't start for any of the methods, It's not even going to Bootloop or stuck in start screen.
Only response I get from the Note 3 is when I connect my charger, gray charging icon with charging symbol comes up every 5 to 6 seconds, makes vibration and disappears. Also I did extensive search in Google and XDA before posting, couldn't find any solution so far.
Couple of things I ruled out so far.
1) Not a battery issue - One of my colleagues has Note 3, swapped batteries and his phone works fine but mine wouldn't start.
2) Not a micro-USB charging issue because I have wireless charger as well, wireless charger indicates it's charging but I can't start my Note 3.Also when I swapped batteries with my colleague, my battery was almost 80% full so charging is still happening.
I am thinking it must be some hardware issue but not sure what it is, is there anyway I can identify the issue and possibly make a DIY fix? Would greatly appreciate any assistance.
Thanks
Neel

something like that happened to a friends note 1 and it was the power switch was broke and stuck on so his shut off and would want to reboot but would stay off because the switch was stuck and it kept resetting, same thing would happen with the charging it would flash for a second and restart. don't know if this is your problem or not but just a suggestion to look into

Thanks for the reply, I am also suspecting the power button as device was randomly getting restarting before this happened. I took mine to one repair shop, they checked it for some time and said they can't find out what's wrong with mobile.
Do you know if your friend's mobile got repaired with power button replacement?
