I replaced the screen Z1, now when I want to open the webcam phone restarts.
I came to this that it is the fault of those sensors, is there a way to turn them off?
can by editing the registry or something?
what files are responsible for the integration of these sensors?
I think the first your step should be to Calibrate all of them and see if the issue persist. Type on Phone keyboard *#*#7378423#*#* and there go to Calibrate the Sensors. A faulty sensor it's a faulty phone so I will consider to replace the device via warranty too if you do not solve this in other ways.

Hi. my UK note (baseband N7000XXKK5, 2.6.35.7.N7000XXKKA, CF-root, stock ROM) has recently stopped turning the screen back on after a call (or during a call when I take the phone away from my ear to use the dial pad, go on speaker, etc.).
Normally the only way I can get the screen back is to hold the power key in until the phone reboots (though I've randomly managed to get it back sometimes, possibly when the other party hangs up and/or I'm pressing the power or home keys to try and get it back).
I've turned off the proximity sensor in settings meantime, and calls are fine in that state - but I don't want to waste battery and/or risk pressing stuff on screen with my head/cheek so I'm looking for a fix. Anyone else got this problem or suggestions for a solution?
I used the *#0*# test menu and chose "sensor". This gives a value of 0.0 for proximity until I put my hand within a few cm's of the sensor, at which point the screen goes green, the phone vibrates constantly and the reading changes to 1.0. Once in that state it stays that way when I remove my hand and doesn't change until I hit the back key.
Is the proximity sensor test intended to be a one-shot affair, or should it register 0.0 once I remove my hand?
My galaxy note is having a similar issue, however when I run the sensor test from *#0*#, I observed a different behaviour, where the proximity output says "1.0" and constantly vibrates all the time (which would explain the screen went black when a call comes in even if I put it on the table, as the phone constantly detects something)
sounds like yours is likely a hardware fault then. I ended up just leaving the proximity sensor disabled for calls and I don't really miss it. The only other thought I had was that my front cam has a load of dust built up under the display glass and it's adjacent to the sensor. I wonder if a layer of dust could trigger it?
actually I just re-ran the sensor test and it now toggles between 0.0 and 1.0 each time I move my hand over the sensor - so looks like in my case I have an intermittant problem. At least now I know how that test is designed to work. I will run it periodically to see whether anything specific is triggering my sensor to stop working.
OK, the following steps resolved my problem:
1. Remove microSD card and turn on the unit
2. Goto *#0*#, sensor test and verify that the issue is resolved
3. Put back in the microSD card
4. Repeat step to and now everything should be back to normal
Just rebooting the unit does not help (as I tried this before), but the above steps have fixed my problem.

I would send it to SONY. That is the best what you can do if you have warranty.
Try this
Disable the Stamina mode. By now it should work as normal. If it does then try the below to see if you can rectify the problem.
1. Go to phone app and key in *#*#7378423#*#* to get to service menu.
2. You should see a menu called service tests, open that and find proximity test.
3. Open it and if it shows you as ON, then you have a proximity issue.
4. Try to tap on the area where the proximity located gently and see if you can get it back on track. If it doesn't, your only choice is to go back to Sony service centre.
Good luck.
The problem was with custom rom i have installed.I have flashed the stock ftf with flashtool and now it is working .My proximity test was ok but my proximity sensor was causing problem while calling which is fixed by gently tapping the area where the proximity sensor is located.

It is not a hardware problem.
You can try to factory reset.
If it is still not working, then there is a system bug that acknowledged by Sony.
You can try to update your phone. Or wait for next new software to solve this problem.
hi guys. i recently replaced my cracked screen and after that i noticed that the auto rotate function isn't working properly. some times it's ok but sometimes like when i go to camera, and when I come back to menu, the screen is Locked on landscape mode and the only think I can do is to lock the device and unlock it to make the screen portrait.and after that i cant change the screen orientation att all unless i restart the phone.
Mostly the screen has a light that only noticeable in the quite dark place when the auto screen light is on after turning off the screen.
i had some problems with ambient light sensor and proximity sensor as well.
i once wiped the data i was thinking maybe it's a software problem but nothing changed
is it really a hardware problem? is the board or any parts damaged during the replacement?!
Same problem Here
I have the same problem, but it is with ambient light sensor and the proximity switch, when i go to the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) the proximity switch does not show up, when i press ambient light sensor it says ¨This device does not support this function¨.
This phone i just bought it a few this ago, i tried reseting customization, wiping data, flash another rom, Root... everything and no answer.
If u wipe and flash and still have the problem it is possible you have a hardware problem. Check all of ur water damage indicators to see if they are red. Also you could tell us your model.
My proximity sensor is not working on any app.
But *#0*# shows the sensor value changing....
Help.?
What apps are you trying it with?
As far as I remember proximity sensor works only with phone calls, pretty much only when you talk and it can be set to off, so check your settings. I also would like to know what other apps work with the sensor?
The proximity sensor doesnt turn the phone screen off during calls.
I meant to say that those sensor testing apps on the playstore is Not showing responses with the prox sensor but *#0*# does.
I'm having the same problem... Phone does not turn display off when it's at my ear.
I had the same issue wit mu new T-mobile Note8 (pre-ordered from Samsung) I have sent it back
Mine gets stuck at 0cm. (As if the phone is at my ear) it causes the screen to be off whenever I'm in a call. I have to reboot the phone to correct the issue.
Try this app and check if it works?
Phone INFO ★Samsung★: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
(in the HARDWARE tab > Sensors)
It will change between 8cm and 0cm.
today when I woke up, I suddenly realized that " all of the sensors" dont work!
even I tried *#0*# none of the sensors values are changing. even sensorhub self test fails!
also IRIS scanner stopped working!
isnt it STRANGE?
all of them stopped working suddenly
I have a exynos 950F, and proximity sensor does work fine with third party apps, I use gravity screen, and macrodroid mostly to make the screen on/off in diverse situations macrodoid is very useful for automation many things
none of the sensors work on my Galaxy note 8
I have the same issue, none of the sensors work, i mean proximity, gps, auto brightness, and gyroscope don't work on my Galaxy note 8.
Does anybody know what should i do?
I also rebooted my phone.
When i am on Google maps, and turn the location sensor on, suddenly the phone find the location, after that, the sensors doesn't recognize the location.
it also happens for auto brightness sensor, when i unlock the phone, it works, suddenly it stops working and doesn't change.
I tried *#0*# none of the sensors values are changing.
I don't know what the problem is? Is it about the software or the hardware?
I updated the phone, rebooted it, but nothing happened.
Hey All,
Im from Sri Lanka and i too have the same issue Non of the sensors works. I gave the device for service and as for them Samsung asked them not to do any repair but to rerun the phones to Samsung Korea and give a full cash refund till the issue is sorted . Issue begins with a official Samsung Software update and it cannot be reversed. They have done main board replacement in one phone they got but the same issue has come aft the software update and its a issue for one production batch. May be Affecting Asia region.
I got a Sony Xperia z3c d5833. Yesterday I installed an app named pocket lock. The main feature of this app is to lock the screen when you cover the proximity and light sensor. Now the problem is just when I Uninstalled this app, the proximity sensor permanently switched ON automatically. And I can't view my screen during calls. I replaced the proximity sensor kit and also re-installed the firmware and went into stock mm6.0.1 from kit kat 4.4.4. Also installed the lollipop 5.1.1
But invain and the problem is still there. My proximity sensor kit which I replaced with another Xperia z3c is working fine in that phone.
I need help....
There is a problem with the display glass on the Z3C separating from the sensor, with an always ON sensor the result. Google and you'll find it.
You can test it in the service menu. It will show as ON, and go OFF if you lightly press on the top left corner of the display.
So you might have a hardware problem. Sometimes just glue the display corner down works.
There are also a few fixes that disable the sensor. You really do not need it. It is a battery saving feature.

All was going fine and fantastic until I installed this fckn app pocket lock ? there's no need to change the proximity sensor kit now because I already have changed it and the most interesting thing is that the faulty proximity sensor kit doing fine in another Xperia z3c. To assure myself that new kit should work fine in my phone I flashed it thrice with three different ROMS but nothing worked. Now I'm wondering how a software can damaged a phones motherboard. It means there's only two things left for me to change, Bootloader and motherboard. D5833's bootloader isn't allowed to be unlocked so therfore I can't upgrade the bootloader, now the only thing left is motherboard of my phone. .
