[Q] optimus 3d p925g - LG Thrill 4G

I recently got an unlocked( rogers) lg p925g..also known as optimus 3d or lg thrill for the states.?! My carrier is bell and im wondering how i can get rid of these rogers apps running and unwanted in my cell..also if i do put a new rom will the code for my sim card disapear..as in will the phone lock back up and i will have to get a new code to have it unlocked to use on the bell network.?

You will not have to reunlock the phone. I rooted the phone, and then used titanium backup to remove all of the rogers apps. Left everything else stock.

[Q] Rooted my Captivate (i896) using SuperOneClick; unlocked now?

Hi there,
I bought a Rogers Captivate to use on Fido. The first thing I did (before putting my SIM card in) was root the device using SuperOneClick. This worked fine. Then I put my Fido SIM card in and booted the phone up. I was able to make calls when I expected to be prompted for an unlock code. I had attempted to run the "unlock" command from SuperOneClick, but it told me the process failed. Is this normal behavior?
Thanks!
FK
Rogers and Fido are the same company.
The phones are usable between the two networks without an unlock code.
Its when you go to bell, telus etc that you need to unlock.
Super one click will not work to unlock our Canadian phones, so your phone is still locked.

[Q] Help with canada virgin sgs

Got two virgin sgs with froyo 2.2, i9000UGJL2.
what are the steps to unlock, root, install CWM and update to latest or apply doc roms.
i read everywhere but i kept on getting errors.
it's the same as the Bell phone
by the way Virgin is Bell owned
the unlocking apps dont work and i cant find cwm for 2.2 but only for the 2.1.
I downloaded Galaxy S unlock from the market and unlocked my sim. The app allows you to rewind just in case you need to rewind for any reasons i.e. warranty etc. My phone's sim was locked on to Vodafone UK but now it accepts any sim card
When i try rooting, it says verification error.
use the superoneclick rooting app on the DEV section of the forum

[Q] ISSUE Rogers raider ICS Reboot loop (S-OFF, unlocked bootloader, sim unlocked)

This is for my HTC Raider from Rogers Canada.
Below is I've done
1. sim unlock, by use the code bought from internet
2. unlock bootloader via HTCDev (bootloader for ICS and bootloader for GB).
3. S-OFF via wire trick.
It runs Dark Raider v1.5.4 with stable kernel, without SIM card, so far so good.
But when I try to use Rogergs sime card, I got boot loop issue like this :
It can boot the ICS system, show unlock screen, and can even unlock screen by sliding circle and get into home screen and check app drawers, but when I turn off flight mode (thus turn on radio), after a while (20 to 60 secs), it will reboot; and again, reboot to ICS, after a while, reboot, .....
I've try other ICS ROMS/kernel combination, such as
AT&T VIVID ICS with stable kernel, no lucky, same boot loop
AT&T VIVID ICS with stock kernel, no lukcy, same boot loop
Try to use FIDO sim card (use rogers network), no luck
but if I change to my old T-Mobile sim card , it works fine, and it find rogers network and even show me it's 4G. (T-Mobile use Rogers network in Canada). No reboot loop anymore.
Can anyone here give me some suggestion about this issue?
BTW : My raider use the new HBOOT to boot ICS. If I want to switch back to GB, can my new HBOOT boot GB? or I have to downgrade HBOOT?
Thanks

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I have the same issue. Rogers Raider, S-Off, SIM unlock, tried to use a Fido SIM. Did you ever figure this out? Thanks
Dunno if it will make a diff or not but it doesn't hurt anything by super-cid'ing your phone.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it didn't help. I guess I should get some logs and figure out what the issue is

I'm using PAC-man with the default kernel. I'll try other kernel's and/or ROMs I guess. Thanks
Edit: I actually just tried a friends Rogers SIM. That rebooted the phone too.. maybe I need an LTE SIM?

This is definitely odd behavior. I have a rogers raider, sim unlocked and running PAC.. I'm currently with Chat-r and have no problems.. I've used telus and fido sim cards as well from friends' phones just to test and never once had it reboot..always comes up with cell service. So...not sure but your issue doesn't sound like its gonna be an "easy" fix.

I'm wondering if I might have messed something up when doing the wire trick for S-Off. Shorted something I shouldn't have..
you can try to reinstall the latest ruu for your phone than use HTC Vivid All-In-One Toolkit V2.2 to root phone again choose the wcs recovery than try installing darkraider again from recovery

After installing the RUU, waiting a few days for the htcdev.com site to send me my bootloader unlock code, everything works as expected. Thanks for the suggestions
This is curious, I am having the same problem with my Rogers HTC Raider. Difference with mine is, it's completely stock. Had the phone sitting around a couple months with a broken screen, finally replaced it, thought I'd be curious and do the OTA update to see what the new software was like compared to my HTC Desire running CM7
All was fine until I put a sim card in to play with it (Rogers sim, phone isn't even Unlocked), and I get bootloop. Take sim out, boots into Sense fine and I can play away. Put into Airplane mode, turn off phone and insert sim, turns on fine. Take it off of Airplane mode, reboot......
Any further suggestions for a completely stock phone?

[Q] got rooted can't read sim.

i finally rooted my thrill it doesn't save my apn and it says no sim card any idea why?
edit: i flashed using lg flash tool

Will my phone work after rooting and custom roms?

Hey People,
Thanks in advance for all your replies and help, really appreciate it ..
OK, So I have a Verizon LG G2, which I am using in Pakistan (also I bought it in Pakistan) and I am using it without a Verizon Sim. These sort of phones are common here which are used phones which come from US. They do some unlocking and make this phone accessible to every local sim.
I want to inquire that if I root it and install a custom ROM in it will it still work and use my Pakistan based sim or will it stop working and than it would need a Verizon sim to work
Currently it shows that it is unrooted.

Hi,
If you wanted to know whether you will lose your phone unlock thingy, then nope. Unlocking a phone is permanent.
