Sam's Club 32GB Nexus 7 Placeholder

Not sure if anyone cares, but I found this on Sam's Club's website:
http://www.samsclub.com/sams/nexus-7-32gb-nexus7-asus-1b32/prod8010536.ip
Might check around at your local Sam's Club if they're willing to sell it for a wee bit less than $999.98 :silly:
A thread about Nexus 7 at $999....Better jump on that!
I'm guess it has that price so that no units get sold until a launch date

Not trying to be snooty or anything, but I think the fact that people have bought them and have them in their hands confirms it.

Chrome OS and Google TV update. No moto x. Nexus 7 and 4.3 are debatable because it's kinda low key to the public

I think most of us would be expecting the new n7 and android 4.3..TBH i'm not so excited about 4.3, i think it would probably be just a maintenance update, which i think is a wrong move for google cause IOS 7 was just released a few weeks ago and in my opinion google should release something big like android 5.0 that will bring a whole new UI to actually compete with IOS 7..(although IOS 7 sucks lol)..just my opinion..

A lot of the new features in ios7 were taken from Android anyways. Apple is just playing catch up.

What if android 5.0 isn't done yet? Should they release it with bugs cause apple is catching up? They should finish it first and only than should they release it.

They can't just release something that's not done yet. Software doesn't just magically happen.

I say somewhere that they were inviting people "for breakfast"... Which hints at a food. When they do that it typically means they're referring to a new android release. We always assumed 5.0 would be Key lime pie. Perhaps its a breakfast item beginning with a K. Maybe Special K cereal or something lol.
The next Android release was never stated it would be 5.0. Perhaps the next "K" release is just 4.3, maybe 5.0.
I don't really care TBH. The next N7 will have some sort of update and should be good. I would expect that they would be focusing a lot on their Google Now design since lots of updated apps from I/O are now using it.
You'd think they'd update the major build to describe the year. This is the nexus' 5th year (Nexus 5) so should have 5.0 (KISS).
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'm actually extremely excited for 4.3 and 5.0 because 4.3 delivers gpu optimization and new touchscreen drivers for my Nexus 4 and 5.0 delivers dalvik vm changes that will greatly increase android fluidity

ios7 is out of beta?.. Last I heard, the next iPhone has already been delayed.. Google doesn't have to worry about anything apple might bring.. They just have to worry about creating demand for their software and hardware.

Omnirom for Nexus 7 (2012)

yesterday I saw the news that a new rom called Omnirom from top devs on XDA is coming for Nexus devices. Is anybody excited for it? The most important feature in the rom in my opinion is that we can use Multi window in it!!
The code of rom is already up. Is anybody thinking to bless our nexus 7 with first omnirom for it? Cant wait to try

Factory images does not have it. But I think pretty much all of the roms that are based on AOSP have it. I have it for example with official Omni.

Will The Nexus 6 Get Android 'N'

Will the Motorola Nexus 6 get Android 'N'? If so will it be around October 2016 when the new Nexus 6 is released?

Google supports their Nexus phones for 3 years after release. So yes, it will be supported. It likely will be released over the summer if not sooner.

Sweet, I know the up coming nexus 6 will come stock Android 'N'. I'd like to have a sneak peek at the layout of N.

According to Google's support policy, devices receive two years of support from their release date. The Nexus 6 won't hit two years until November 2016. So yes, the Nexus 6 should get Android 7.0. It should also receive Android 7.0 security updates for some time afterward.
Fortunately, these are Nexus devices. Custom ROM support should keep them going for much longer.
EDIT: @mikeprius beat me to it. LOL.
I made a mistake. It's 2 years for software updates, but 3 years for security updates.
My money's on yes
obvious answer is yes.. nexus 6 is still very capable.. probably until P..
The real question is will Nex6 get the android N dev preview?

There's nothing to "rip", just download the preview and extract the radio image with your favorite archive utility like 7-Zip.

Pixel ROM for Nexus 6

Hate to be that guy asking devs for anything but pretty pretty please can we haz a straight Pixel ROM for our Nexus 6.
Sent from my Nexus 6
I don't think you're going to see one. The closest you'll get is to port the Pixel's 32-bit apps over to the Nexus 6, since none of the Pixel's 64-bit firmware will work on our device.
Oh man, I'd love to see that too! Sadly, I don't think it's possible. Could be wrong, development never ceases to amaze me
They've always amazed me as well, hopefully one of them has a lot of love for this device and can figure it out

To make a 32bit app of a closed source 64bit app? No love is enough to achieve that.
So if you want Pixel on you Nexus, you'll have to buy a 64bit phone, either the 5X or the 6P.
Oh well I never keep devices long anyways. Just wishful thinking/pissing in the wind

A Rom like this one Would be perfect????
And they can do that because they have a 64-bit processor in the 5X. We don't. We should however be seeing a developer preview of Android 7.1.1 drop soon for us, with the finished product to follow.
Wow Having a nexus and asking for a ported rom is like having a Mustang but wanting to put a pinto engine in it.
