Do you think there will be a honami mini? Or was that just a fake? I'm really looking forward to it, as 5 inch screens just aren't my thing. If there's no mini, I might just get the iPhone 5s :/

Yes, it would be pretty nice though if Sony's was similar. I'm not a huge fan of monster sized phones and I've held the Z1 and its a monster (although a slim one).

Yeah it was a z1 pic originally I photoshopped it myself. Just wanted to see what it would look like. I could have said it was a legit pic but didnt want to get people hopes up for no reason.

Seriously speaking though... With this much component.
I won't expect a mini version of Z1 with the same specs.... Z1 alone seems a little crowded already in the inside. I can't imagine how would they cram all these internals in a 4.3inch phone.
Although it might be possible if they put 2 PCB boards inside the phone but it would make it thicker by probably 2x. Never seen a dual layered PCB phone yet...

If it comes with the same camera and same processor, I'm def getting it.
But from the picture it looks like it may not have the same camera (the lens looks slightly smaller...?)

Personally I wouldn't place too much stock in what looks like a photoshopped regular Z1 shrunk down a bit, I'd hold off for some official SONY information before deciding, that way it's based on facts rather than speculation.
You'll also need to apply a bit of common sense. I.E. to fit a body that holds a 4.3 inch screen or thereabouts, logically something will have to give.
Certainly battery capacity for sure, probably the camera module for a lesser one, then there's chipsets & RAM sizes etc too. (You didn't really think SONY will make the mini the same spec as their flagship model did you?)
For me, I'd be happy as long as it's pocketable with a 720p screen
lesser camera module (if I want to take GOOD pics I'll use a proper camera thank you) or the QX10 add - on
2Gigs RAM
I'd go with a snapdragon 600 if necessary
Lesser battery isn't a huge issue, as the screen isn't a 5 inch full HD power sucker, you may find the battery longevity to be similar despite a smaller capacity.

Looks like it comes with exact same processor, ram, camera and the dust/water proof.

Galaxy S5 Leaked ahead of launch[FULL DEVICE LEAK]

Galaxy S5 has leaked today, a few hours from the UNPACKED event. This will give you an idea of what to expect at the event today.
Not much has changed from S4 in terms of design though, which is a disappointment. And it still looks like it's made out of some type of plastic and not even faux leather!
The UI is a little bit different and is much flatter.
The camera is 16MP. It is yet to be seen if it's the ISOCELL tech. Also, UHD recording is present.
According to calculations done by somebody, the battery is 2800 MAh, and it looks just the same as the one on the Galaxy Round.
There is also a Fingerprint scanner on-board, possibly only a Swipe type which is located on the home button.
Menu key has been replaced with multitask key and there is a weird sensor near the camera flash (iris scanner probably). EDIT: It is a Heart Rate Monitor

It is disappointing to me too. I expected a radically changed design this time around.
It looks worse than Hyperglaze or Faux leather. And the white one looks like Styrofoam.
But maybe there will be a premium "Prime" version too. There are leaks about such a possibility.

They seem to be just throwing in a good SoC, Camera, display and bloatware and not bothering about the build quality!

I stuck with my phone (iPhone 4) since 2010. I really want a new device an I'm waiting for every press event from Samsung, Sony, Apple and others. But the leaked pictures are very disappointing. Again...

My preference is for the Note 3

That design team needs to be fired ASAP. I hope the press this time criticizes negatively Samsung with no mercy.

Samsung need to hire that Duarte guy from Google. His designs using budget material and costs are amazing. With Samsung's pockets and resources he could design something that would beat an iPhone or HTC in beauty and also have personality, while starting a new design language for future samsung devices.

This is one ugly ass phone, even though I'd stick it in a cover I would not be happy buying that phone. Was going to go from my sg3 to this but scratch that, next months HTC is what I'm looking at now.

this is a question that will never be answered. Some car designs for example are absolutely awful - who comes up with the designs and the fact they actually get mass produced is beyond me.

Once again, minor upgrades from its predecessor. I have a gs3 and I still won't be upgrading to the gs5. Right now I'm leaning towards the Z2, unless LG or HTC can surprise me. Samsung is the new Apple.

It doesn't look too much different than the s4, very disappointed. Everything else looks up to par but I was expecting something different. The s3 which was their best selling device, customers are due for an upgrade. IMO it was imperative for Samsung to push the envelope and correct some of the constant criticisms the s phones have received. They hit a home run with the s3, the s4's sales were dismal at best now was the time. Software and hardware look good but it seems the build quality will be questionable as usual. Touchwiz looks the same. I wonder how locked down this phone will be. Most likely I will be buying one as I did with all the previous models. The m8 might have to come first though.

Never believe any tech blogs BEFORE an announcement.
Most were reporting 2k resolution, 3GB RAM and 3200mAH battery.

That gold is disgusting lol. Wow Samsung really screwed this one up. Do the powers to be not read forums or have access to what customers want. I don't get it this has been one of the most anticipated phones and since they announced it today its been getting ripped apart.

BGR jumped the gun and put up those specs about 5 minutes before the event started. BGR is the most unreliable tech source lately. They used to be great at scooping things back in the day.

I like new look, blue abd gold one looks nice, better than iPhone or Sony. I really like live hdr mode and fast auto focus. I want live hdr on my phone and this new ui it loojs nicer.
Water resistant is cool thing. But people remember its not waterproof dont swim with it, like lots of people with their S4Active, then they cried. Hope they improved usb flap port cover.
I laughed when they said that we customers want better KNOX, maybe when it wouldn't void our warranties when counter is triggered it would be ok. But I am disappointed that it has only 2gh RAM. With all that samsung stuff running in background sometime its not enough. And it would need better colling system.

You sound like working for Huawei and try do marketing. I know that Huawei Android SW development is total ****. How dare you say that CyanogenMod is ****? The OnePlus One is a superb phone and comes with CyanogenMod which is great on it. Unfortunately, Chinese seem not to like freedom in software. Same with Huawei; instead of leaving it to the people to decide what they want, they impose their crappy and laggy software which may be full of spyware from their intelligence services.
P.S.: I know that this was not productive discussion and it's not the way I like to discuss things, but I try holding a mirror in front of you.

Well cyanogen realized themselves and they creating something new ... (vis. pic bottom)
EMUI 3.0 is not laggy AT ALL, it works flawlessly ..
U have no idea how much spy is in iphones ! beware..

So let me start with a litte question,.. I´ve the Europe Version with Vodafone Branding, can i just Download the VIE-L09 B160*as example and Debrand it ?
Phone has no SIM-Lock only branding and damn APPS

I want to be able to set language independently from region, as my region is The Netherlands, but I want to use English System Language.
How can I get that done, as when I change language to English I cant set the region to Dutch/The Neherlands.

P9 and Outlook help
Hoping someone has some ideas. I got my p9 plus today and all my apps installed fine except for Outlook. It's downloaded but won't launch, just gives a while s teen then crashes. I've installed it a few times and I've restated the device a few times but no luck. Anyone else come across this?

You have to be in Pro mode to enable RAW. Pull up the white tab above the shutter button then swipe right.

Same here, I can't believe Huawei would lock regions to specific languages, especially when some of the translations are really bad (Danish for instance).

Maybe we need to install more locale,or something like that..

cant seem to find any entry here in xda, can anyone help me set Nova as defaut? the option to set it as such is missing in the app settings.

Here's what I haven't been able to figure out. I got my device yesterday and all is great except that the IR blaster doesn't seem to be working. I even tried to teach it manually and it says it registered but when I point the phone at the AC to test nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Call quality has been excellent for me so far. Huawei have always been great in this department in my experience.

The camera of the Huawei is better. As for performance both phones will perform great, though the Oneplus 3 should have the edge on paper with the Snapdragon 820 and 6GB of ram. I don't think you'll notice it much in day to day usage though, unless you really love having lots and lots of apps open with multitasking. With both devices having a 1080p display, they have more than enough horsepower to drive them.

When I first turned on my P9 Plus it had the following wallpaper:

However, after playing around with different themes, I can't seem to find this background anywhere. Not even applying the default theme brings it back. Does anyone know where to find it?
