Yes, you must remember to flash the proper kernel.
The best way is to use Flashtool & a FTF file

Yes it works, fine, but you will have to wipe data; the formats for the contact and messaging databases changed with 4.4.
The upgrade process will convert them up, but not back down.
Helium works very well as a Backup.

[Q] back from CM10 to stock Sony Xperia T

I have installed the CM10 of Cyanogenmod but I did not thought I would ever say this; I would like to go back to a stock Sony ROM. I miss the keyboard, the wifi-on-location, the Album app of Sony and more.
Is it possible to flash back to a stock Sony ROM and if yes, how do I do this? I think it would be simple since I have recovery installed of course. And, I live in the Netherlands, which shall I pick to restore?
I have tried with PC Companion but this says I cannot update it anymore. Probably because of the boot.img of CM10?
Thanks in advance!!!

Just flash a stock FTF from your region. Or restore the backup you made before flashing cm10 (You did make a backup didnt you!)
Or flash any stock based kernel for your device and any stock based rom.

No I did not make a backup.... I thought PC Companion would just work fine for restoring. I will flash a FTF. Does it need to be a ROM from my region. And can I do so without flashing a kernel first?
Sh*t I feel stupid now....

No, you can pick any ftf for your phone, but one for your region will be best. No you dont need a kernel as that will be included inthe ftf.
You wont be able to use PCCOmpanion anymore as you have unlocked the bootloader.

Thanks for all your help. I have downloaded the LT30p_7.0.A.3.195_Vodafone.ftf and placed in my Firmwares folder. When I start the flashtool, the source folder is correct, but the FTF is not displayed. How is this possible?
Don't worry, it is there. That dialogue box just confirms the folder, when you click ok the ftf's that are in that filler are displayed in flashtool
Or you can just drag and drop it into the open window of flashtool.
You will not be able to update from PC companion again because you have unlocked your bootloader

Thanks again for your help!!!! It seems to be working again! Am I now getting the latest updates of Sony/Google again?
Strange, with my X10 and all other phones, I hated the Sony firmware. Now I actually missed it and think the default is fine for me! Great job Sony?!:good:

No. Unlocked bootleggers won't receive official updates. However you will still be able to download the files then create your own ftf with the help of the instructions in the ask in one thread.
If not, then people will upload updated ftf's that you can flash
And no need to say thanks, just hit the button if you feel the need to thank someone

If you want customization you can try AOKP or Cm10.2
It restores my phone like you said via TWRP,but why is that there's an error popping out? "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped"?

Try factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. If the problem still persist, flash back stock rom with odin. After you have a fully working phone, then you can start looking for other rom. Now, you need to get your phone fully working again. Stop worrying about other custom rom. That can come later.

No, Omni does not see sim contact. You should export it in phone app before. You can flash stock JB now again and I suggest you to connect your contacts to google account.

I think all stock based ROMs see sim contacts. I am not sure about CMs. You can do that. But you can import contacts from sim to phone on stock, then export it in file - after that import in Omni. You have import/export option when you open dialer.

Just flash stock firmware using odin. You don't need to flash gapps if you flash stock. Then you can export your contacts to external sd (it will be saved as a .vcf file). Or you can sync your contacts to google. It will be automatically restored after you logged in on Omni ir any other rom. But I suggest you do both. Just in case.

This is the untouched Sony FTF so if you flash with this, it will give you latest build by wiping your phone so root is lost. I created the zip file and stripped FTF for this firmware but didn't upload it. Let me know if you want it, Ill try uploading again... last time dev host was being a bit** about it.

No, on 4.3 it doesn't work like that.
1 - You need to flash back to 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 firmware with flashtool, 1 that will let you root your tablet with a 1 click root method from DoomLord.
2 - Install Recovery once rooted
3 - Upload the zip file to your SDCard and flash the zip from CWM or TWRP
4 - Power Off WITHOUT rebooting
5 - Flash with Flashtool the the stripped FTF
Boot and you will be rooted on the latest firmware.
Its the same way as in this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588442 )except you will be using the latest files/firmware.
I'll upload the files later for whoever wants them ... getting off work in a few hours.

Previously had root and kept root after update.
Just follow these steps:
1) copy zip to SDcard
2) go into recovery and install zip (without wiping anything)
3) turn off phone
4) flash kernel via flashtool
done.

Two quick questions... One why is there a part one and two??? Doesn't flash tool only let you select one zip.
Second if I'm fully stock I can still flash with flash tool no root needed.???
May sound stupid but I was told ftf files can be flashed without root via flashtool

You'll have to uninstall your root apps, then flash under ODIN the official stock firmware, download from here
I first deactivate my modules under Xposed framework, then uninstall them, then I defrost all apps in TiBU, then I use the prepare for full unroot in SuperSU and then I uninstall the root apps. Finally I do a full wipe of SD (back your stuff up of course) and reset the phone, then I turn it off and flash the stock fw.

Yeah I left my sim card in, wiped my SD card with the reset etc. Now, did you do the uninstall "prepare for full unroot" option in SuperSU, generally doing what I did to double cover myself? I'm thinking, though this may be a tedious way of doing it but make sure you're all reset to stock as you may be, then do a full reset including the formatting the SD card, then do a re-root, then unroot as I do and try that.

I can not install the original rom from Sony, OTA doesn't work and via companion it tells me I have a other software installed and upgrade is not possible!
Can anyone help me with this? Where can I get the original 4.4.2 rom to install?
Is there a way to upgrade and keep the root?
Best regards

Thanks a lot for the quick feedback, but now I have some more questions:
I have Clockworkmod 6.0.4.6 installed, is there a way to flash it via this recovery?
And is there also a german/austrian rom-version available, or is it the same with the US version?
Actually I wanted to upgrade it according to the description from doomlord here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/cwm-based-recovery-6-0-4-6-root-xperia-t2167381 since I'm already familar with the process, but all what is missing there is the stock rom... so would it also work if I use the rom from your description and flash it via the recovery?
And will I always loose my settings and data with the update or is there a way without loosing it?
Thanks again for your support,
best regards

Okay, actually there are two questions from my side:
1. Is ist possible upgrade my existing rooted Android 4.3 to a rooted 4.4.2 without loosing my settings and data on the phone?
2. Can I achieve this by updating the stock rom and then the kernel according to the description of doomlord?
=> If yes, where can I get a german version of the Android 4.4.2 (stock rom) and how can I install it (keep point 1 in mind)?
I hope this makes my question more clear, thanks for your help again!

Okay, so that means I:
1. Flash stock Rom from your link via flashtool
and
2. Flash doomlord-kernel via recovery
and then I should have the the 4.4.2 rooted, did I understand that correct?

when you flash stock rom you will loose custom recovery most probably.

Thank you all for your support, I now made it!
Short summary for all who have the same problem like I had:
1. I installed the stock-rom via flashtool according first feedback from androidfreak70 in this thread and unchecked all "wipe" boxes in flashtool for that all data and settings are kept.
(Additional info: if you want to use the stock-rom supplied via sony companion, and you can like me not install it due to previous rooted ROM, follow this thread.)
As androidtweaker1 mentioned, custom recovery and root was lost, but all other data/settings are kept.
Therfore I then
2. Installed Towelroot according to this description and there we go, everything works perfect!
So thank you once again,
best regards
