What kind of factory reset are you talking about the one build in the phone or flash tool
1) phone factory reset will not delete you root but you will need to reinstall the busybox and superuser (available in google play store)
2) flash-tool will remove your root and recovery.
3) your reinstall you rom using a zip file that will not remove any of you recovery or root

you can flash any FTF of Official JellyBean FW 9.1.A.0.489...
1) download SuperSU and place the file on SDCARD
2) download latest TWRP for JB and flash it using fastboot
3) boot into recovery and flash SuperSU update.zip
4) reboot device
You might also want to install busybox... Just go to market and download busybox installer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox) and after downloading app select /system/xbin/ as location to install busybox...
enjoy Root!
Strange.. When I tried to uninstall some system apps, one of them uninstalled, then the others failed, and now I can't do anything that requires root, almost like I'm no longer rooted...

Installed, still not working.
I have definitely done everything correctly, I have tried both SuperSU and Superuser, busybox installed to /system/xbin/
I guess I could try a different ftf, although I highly doubt it would help.

Maybe a silly question, but you did wipe data when you updated right?

Downloaded a different ftf and that one worked, must have been a faulty download...
EDIT: Nope, I tested by uninstalling one app, when I tried to uninstall others it failed again.
I had total success with this method, how every I have also had a reboot :/
Not sure what caused it and couldn't get at my pc to get hold of any kind of log.
Might just try a pure stock unrooted jb for a while and wait to see if problem is reproduced or reported by other users.
Otherwise, great work Doom, look forward to your feature packed DoomKernel once your exams are dusted!!(best of luck btw)

Yep.
I ve got big problem. After flashing your kernel when i'm trying to boot the phone it shows white triangle and blue bar under the triangle. Phone wont boot. Im on unlocked bootloader. exactly what ive done:
- flash 4.1.2 europe via flashtool with full wipe
-flash your kernel with recovery
-enter recovery- it shows "cant mount system, cache data etc
-reboot
-before sony logo -> white triangle and under triangle blue bar
- again flash 4.1.2 europe via flashtool with full wipe
-before sony logo -> white triangle and under triangle blue bar..
So, what now i can do to boot my phone?
please help
Is it possible to have CWM with stock kernel?
Flash back stock kernel. There are no working custom kernels yet as far as I know
Did I help? Please press the thanks button

That'll get rid of CWM. There is no way to have CWM with the kernel provided by Sony. What doom has done is included CWM in essentially what is his version of the stock kernel.

[Q] about ROM JB Zaiben by Siauka

Hi all,
I have a problem with this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203700
I install the .zip file with CMW.
After wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache, format system I reboot.
And the phone does not boot.
It stops at the LG logo.
Any solutions?
I tried also with TWRP

Dude 1st: format/wipe everything
2nd: install/flash rom
still nothing...
I install it again without re-flashing kdz
is it right?
or I need to flash the kdz, wipe all then install?
now I use TWRP recovery.

Probably now you have some kind of tutti-frutti of files in your phone...
Better flash your phone with .kdz or other method, after that follow the tutorial.
Did you flash from ICS? You need to be on V20 (JB) before you flash it.

Oh, just realised you stated you formatted system. You're not supposed to do that since /system contains the ROM, so it wouldn't boot past kernel logo.

Then what I could do?
Now I am on v20a with TWRP installed.
I need to reboot into recovery, do a factory reset, system wipe, cache wipe, data wipe and then install?
TWRP is the same of CMW?
Thanks

I sugest you to use adb instead of terminal.
Once that you facrtory reseted the phone, check if you didn't forgot nothing... root, etc...
Try install SuperSU if you have Superuser.

[Q] How to completly unroot my note

my company just moved there email system from good to airwatch, the problem is airwatch started detecting as my phone as rooted ( which was  ).... So I booted in stocked recovery did a factory reset and re-flashed a stock ROM using ODIN.
The problem is Airwatch still identifies the phone as "rooted /compromised" any idea how to completely unroot it or really reset to default
thankx
Flash a 3 part gb rom. Before flashing do a wipe of cache and data from recovery. Flash with pc odin, then do full wipe from recovery of gb, should clear any traces.

follow the instructions of SpyderTracks only instead of install you can also install jb gb, it is important to do all the wipe format and send it in download mode directly from recovery

I have tried Google... I am drawing a blank.
Can somebody point me to official 3 part N7000 ROM for StarHub- Singapore.
All the rom I am getting are single file.
There is no need for that rom. Just boot into a Cwm recovery. (if you have already Un rooted then install Philz kernel.) . Format the system, data, cache and preload partitions and then choose reboot download. Then flash a stock rom again.

Thankx ... but did not work
Airwatch still is pain in back side....
use different email app to connect that support airwatch, whatever that is.
Or hack airwatch app if that exists to not check
Or dont allow it root...

You could also try ota rootkeeper from the playstore to temporarily disable root.

Rooted c6902 using towelroot v1, installed nuts xz1dualrecovery n supersu 2.00...now

After rooting n flashing xz1dualrecovery with the help of pc and then flashing super su 2.00 i am facing strange problems! After a day my phone is not booting in recovery, no vibration or yellow lights during restart! Then after yesterday i saw that its not switching off when i hold power button and then click 'power off' only reboot to safe mode and holding power n volume up is working. I had uninstalled google play services, google plus n all except google search, google sttings, maps nplay store. I uninstalled youtube and notes too. N Yes i had backed up entire partion via xz1dualrecovery, but after that due to insufficient space i manually delete the backup file from sdcard/clockworkmod/
What do i do now?
And also tell me please that whether i update 4.4.4 via ota when it come(my phone is rooted, bl locked) ? Thanks in advance...
N last of all kindly suggest me what apps do i install now to improve my phone(i had installed busybox free, rom toolbox, android tuner, set cpu, trickstermod, add free and uninstalled them, only root app present is titanium backup pro).

You lost recovery and had all those problems because you installed busybox...
Read OP from XZDualRecovery - it clearly says - do not install busybox.
Busybox is included and if you installed another version you'll lose recovery...
You can flash fw via flashtool and root device again to repair that...

Sure you can...
You will lose root, of course but for now, there's no fw for Xperia which cannot be rooted.
So, when PC Companion say - update is ready, update your device and root ut using easy root, install NUT recovery and you'll be rooted with recovery again.
There's no "better" recovery on locked bootloader, there's only one recovery by NUT.
In that recovery you can choose CWM, TWRP and PhilsRecovery.
CWM and TWRP are my favorites and you there's not much difference between them.
Both will do the job...
