Huawei Ascend W1 ROM flashing - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,,
I have just tried flashing a ROM on the Ascend W1 and I am getting an error, which has oviously rendered my device unusable. It does vibrate when trying to turn it on, but screen is black.
I was working with eMMC Software Download app, activated "Program Boot Loaders" and loaded a XML-file. Then I clicked on Download, as shown in the video of windowsmania.pl and in their instructions. I got the message:"Download completed - no errors detected" and my device is correctly recognized as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006. In the eMMC Software Download app it is listed as Qualcomm MMC Storage USB Device, which should also be correct. Still, the device status is shown simply as "error" instead of "writable". The Download button is not clickable. I have tried it with two different PCs, one with Windows 7 and another with Windows 8.
What am I doing wrong?
What does this mean and could anyone who has experience with this issue please help me out?

I found a way to solve this issue, but I have no idea why it worked.
I installed Windows 7 32-bit on my PC, installed the drivers, restarted and it was instantly recognized as Qualcomm (whatever) 9006.
So I started QPST Software Download app and I was able to download it. It seems that I had to use a 32bit operating system and not Windows 8, at least it looks like that. The Download button wasn't clickable and the device status has shown error on Windows 8 64bit and Windows 7 64bit. It was writable in 32bit. Hope this helps someone out.

Right click the eMMC Software Download and choose run as Windows XP Service Pack 2, this should do the trick

You need to run as administrator

Huawei W1 does nothing as expected during flashing..
My W1-U00 started having problems with loading apps..whenever I tried to load my photos or weather channel app or whatever it looked like it tried to load the app but it redirected me on home screen. After a few days I had a problem with the space on device and some updates it needed so I tried to uninstall some of the apps but when I did so and restarted the phone the apps where back again. Since that point it's impossible to uninstall any app, impossible to reset the phone from the settings>about>reset phone and impossible to hard reset the device, I tried all the possible ways to do a hard reset but nothing, it just restarts like nothing happened and I get no sprockets logo. So after a few months I decided to reflash my device. Everything went smooth but after I clicked on the download button of the eMMC Software Download app instead make my device recognized by my pc as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006 the device restarts as normal and nothing happens. It's impossible to make it work, I tried all the methods available online but nothing...Any ideas??

HTC Touch Diamond Won't connect to PC.

Alright, I'm running Windows 7, and this is exactly what happens.
First, i connect my HTC Touch Diamond, on the phone screen it asks me to choose ActiveSync or Disk Drive, regardless of what i choose, or if i choose none, i always instantly get the following error appears in the task bar and the "Unknown Device" in device manager.
{

Under the devices properties in Device Manager, the Device Status says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
If i try re-running the Windows Mobile Device Center installer (drvupdate-x86.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...F1-E46A-4A5F-A791-09F07AAA1914&displaylang=en) the following happens:
So, apparently it finds the driver and then attempts to install it, but while doing so, the device appears to become 'unplugged' some how and then the Windows Mobile Device Center installer continues on its way.
I've tried various reported fixes for problems like this, such as:
-Checking or unchecking the "Enable advanced network functionality" box in Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC.
-Used 2 different cables in various USB ports.
-Deleting the device from device manager, resetting my PC and soft resetting my device then reconnecting them.
-Hard and soft resetting the device
-Enabling various system services, such as the UPnP one (which was originally disabled for some reason)
-Tried it on an XP machine, same task bar error, and same Unkown Device in Device Manager.
None of the above has worked, and im out of ideas. I'd be extremely grateful to anyone who could help out, i've tried to provide as much information as possible, if anything else is needed, just ask.
Thanks in advance.

Solution?
Hi!
I have the same problem with a HTC Touch HD. Can you tel me what is the solution?

hi, i have a same problem. i am using a standard 5 pin mini usb which comes with nokia n95.
Please tell me is it right to use 5 pin usb cable or i have to buy 11 pin mini usb cable.
my touch diamond starts charging when plugged 5pin mini usb but doesn't sync.
plz help
I'm having the same issues as the OP. I'm thinking if I could manually load the drivers, all would be well. Could someone who DOES have it working with Windows 7 perhaps strip the driver out somehow and post it here? I've tried all of the tricks listed above, with no luck. I'm going to try to get it working with my laptop running XP later tonight... maybe I can find the driver that way?
try this.
i also had this problem. try another data cable which ur friend use to connect his htc.
same problem, and it causes errors connecting as flash memory.
tried same computer, same cable, but windows xp sp3 with activesync. everything worked fine.
wtf is wrong with windows 7?

there is nothing wrong with windows 7, I think you need WMDC 6.1 Driver for Windows Vista (64- bit) to make it work
in this site you can get it http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=3182
I have a problem with my diamond, can't make it work through usb with my pc.
It gives me an error in device manager:
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
I have installed wmd and tried different usb ports with no luck.
On my pc I have win10 installed, any suggestions?
Hi,
not sure if HTC Diamond can sync with Windows 10. I run Linux and have Windows XP with ActiveSync in VirtualBox. Works fine. So you may want to try the same, run XP in a Virtual Machine under Windows 10.

[Q] Cannot access TP from computer...help

I have a TP and it was working fine ( or so I thought )
To cut a long story short, everytime I plug the usb cable into the computer I get a usb not recognised, I've installed novacom ( I have borrowed another TP and it is fine working with my pc )
If I double click on the unknown device it tells me that there is a code 43 error ( the device has reported problems so its not installed )
Can anyone suggest what I can do to get out of this fix ?
OsDoctor cannot see my device as its not recognised.
Many Thanks
S8utt
What rom are you running and what recovery CMW or TWRP.
I did have gingerbread installed and mboot etc.
In the process of trying to fix the dam thing I've probably made it worse as its completely reset ( no blue text on startup, or menu options to allow selection of what to boot )
The HP symbol just shows and it boots into WebOs
Gingerbread ? You must have done that ages ago. So it now just boots into webos , is recognized from there when you connect it to your PC if so what size is the TOUCHPADs drive showing as available /used.
Yes, I did the hack as soon as it came out and I hadn't touched it since. ( turned into the kids tablet, they complained that they couldn't install any games which is how the fun started )
So anyway, no the TP is not recognised, I get this popup as soon as I plugged the TP in

double clicking on the Unknown Device in Computer Management
Gives
I have another Touchpad, and that connects fine to the computer, so I'm guessing its the Touchpad that's at fault, not the PC or drivers, I only hope its not beyond fixing.
I was hoping there maybe a WebOs app I could download ( like a terminal ), maybe there is a way of running some commands on the TouchPad directly ?

Have you tried this? Go to settings > storage and click on the 3 squares on the upper right corner. Then click on usb computer connection and make sure the MTP box is checked.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
My thoughts would be to use acmeuninstaller to hopefully remove the Android partition. Reboot and see what if any difference that makes. Before doing the above if you put it into recovery mode" power and volume up" is it recognized by either webos doctor and webos quick install ?
I haven't come across your problem before and would also suggest you give it a while to see if someone more knowledgeable than myself has any other suggestions . Meanwhile I'll put my thinking hat on.
MTP settings ? this is for Android yes ?
I don't have android on it anymore, just WebOs

I think the option to boot into Android has gone.
I put into recovery mode ( white usb icon ) still get unrecognised USB,
novacom and webos cannot find the device.

Just to keep the info stream alive, even when I could boot into Android, I couldn't get it recognised (USB), so MTP option was not valid as it wasn't even seen.
I think the TP is broadcasting it has a problem which is preventing the Pc from connecting to it.

Duhhh. Skimming the thread too fast.........
In webOs, install preware with WOSKI, as sstar wrote. There's an android remover that you can download and install from there. Run it. Install android using acmeinstaller3.
Good luck.
Nope, webos quick install doesn't see the touchpad, well I think it does but it does work due to this code 43 error

Must admit I'm at bit of a loss. As I am reluctant to suggest anything that might make your situation worse and don't know what a code 43 error is.

[Q] Lumia 830 USB Connection Problem

I got my Lumia 830 today and after setting up the Device, I wanted to connect it to my PC.
But Windows does not install the required treiber. Although it is shown in the Device Manager under "Other Devices" under the name "Lumia 830 (RM-984)".
I tried to "update treiber automatically", but Windows does not find any.
Since there are no treiber available at the Internet (neither at the Nokia HP, nor at the microsoft HP) i dont know how do fix that Problem.
Can anybody help me?
PS: I got Windows 8.1 with all latest updates installed.
>Uninstall all drivers for Windows Phone.
>Disconnect device and reconnect again.
>Go to "Device Manger" on PC.
>Trouble shoot the problem or update all drivers.
>choose automatically search for drivers.
(Make sure you have active internet connection)
Windows Phone supports Windows 7 PC and higher.
check USB settings in phone settings for USB connectivity or when you connect phone to USB be sure you enable USB mode on phone screen message...
also uninstall this drivers from device manager and reconnect phone

Thanks for the tipp with Nokia Software Recovery Tool, but it did not work either. Although the program seems to recognize the phone.
edit: Tried connecting it to my freind's PC with Win 7 64Bit -> worked fine
Also tried it at my Laptop with Win 8.1 -> didn't work
So probably a win 8 problem?
few days ago i worked with Lumia 630 and worked without problem with Windows 8.1 Pro x64
There is no issue with Windows 8.1 64 bit or something missing in Registry.
But,
It will work definitely but you need to try again and again.
You need to download driver's through"DeviceManager" to automatically search for driver over the internet.

Need Method for Google Pixel 4 Android R QPST & QXDM Log Method

Hi ,
I Need to Know the Complete Method How to Connect Google Pixel 4XL Android R With QPST & How to Take QXDM Log for Google
Thanks ,
Nabil Anwar
Hi, I am trying to install QXDM5 ( QXDM5.5.1.280.7.Windows-x86) on win10. First i have installed QPST.2.7.485.7.exe and it is successful and then tried to QXDM5 but while installing seen the error saying that "QUTS.Core was not installed. Reason: CatalogError". Here i have attached error logs. It would great help if some one help me on this issue.
sadly my 4xl has the same problem, it seems to be a serious bug from Google and needs to be fixed. Phone can't access Fastboot mode or Recovery mode, it can only stay in 9008 mode. This situation happened when I tried to update android 12 version but failed. Hope to have help from the developer, because there will be many people facing the same situation.
Hey!
I am working with the EDL mode, I am trying to use it as a way to unlock Pixel boot loader form it's carrier. Though I am still testing...
Let me see if I can help you guys:
*Keep in mind this only works on windows, and I am assuming you have ADB and Fastboot command line installed, and you have some experience using the command line, and you are using a recent version of Windows10,*
1. Remove Lmobile drivers(from device manager on windows) and install the Google one's instead. If you don't know how to do it just search on google and you will find a tutorial
2. You need to download Qualcomm drivers and QPST tool. I will leave a link to a website where you can download it.
3. After Qualcomm drivers are installed, set up QPST.
3. On your phone, if you have access to adb, run without quotes "adb reboot EDL"(for carbon coupe)
If the phone can't reach adb there are other 2 methods, one using fastboot commands and other using the testing pins(requires phone disassembly)
As my phone is working and running fine android 12 I only know the adb command.
Once on EDL mode the screen is going to be completely black, and device manager will se your phone as :
QUALCOMM HS-USB QDLOADER 9008(COM "USB port number")or something similar.
Now you can use the QPST tool to flash the firmware and boot image, or any other software that supports EDL mode.
Here is a link to a website which explains very well how to set up and use the QPST tool and where you can download all you need.
Hope this helps you!

You are going to need also these files, that are the programmer files.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I DIN'T TRY OUT THIS FILES, SO THEY MAY BE FOR OTHER PHONE OR MAY NOT WORK.
So please use this files with caution, I found them on a post of XDA and they are in theory from a working Google Pixel 4XL, so they should work.
I would recommend using this one: generic > Pixel > EU > Commercial > pixel_Free and use that file, as this one is from an unlocked Pixel I believe
Though I didn't test them so they may just not work at all.

Question HELP msmdownloadtool - Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Good morning everyone. First of all I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place.
I have a Realme 8 Pro (RMX3081) I was trying to flash a rom through msmdownloadtool, everything was perfect, the program recognized my device correctly and a few seconds after starting the operation you can see that in the communication status it said "verify data" and then "WCSM communication failed (WCSM code: 4010 the project number is not matching.)
Then I disconnected my phone from the computer and it no longer turns on and when I reconnect it the device manager recognizes it as "Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"
I also want to point out that something similar had happened to me before, however, although the phone did not turn on, when I connected it to the computer the device manager recognized it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008", but now he recognizes it as Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). I don't know what I can do please help
I do not know if this has a solution, I will be very grateful for your answers.

I explain the solution. Apparently when I tried to flash the phone it went into EDL mode and disconnected from the computer, maybe that's why I'm not sure.
To exit EDL mode just press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power (in that order) until the phone vibrates.

I tried it and it works. You need at least 10 dollars and you can use the program a couple of times.
