I flashed the latest viperRom to my Sprint HTC One. When the phone starts up is is on a locked screen. On my stock but rooted system I just swiped up to unlock. Any idea how to unlock the screen?
Also, I tried installing the CryanogenMod and Slim Bean roms. The phone would never start - just start their animated startup screen logos. I waited a fair amount of time - should I have waited a REAL long time?
I am trying to get back to an Android 4.2 version to see if I canget wifi tethering to work. I never could after trying many things under Android 4.3

That's a very bad idea mate!! 2.6.3.3 is for M7_U/UL models, he has Sprint (M7_WLS), latest TWRP for m7wls is 2.6.3.0.

Yes just figured it out, what it does is it it flashes just recovery to boot or something like that and from there you are able to install kernels, roms, whatever without fastboot if you are s-on

Help please, whenever I flash a cyanogenmod or AOSP based rom after the htc boot logo shows on bootup the screen remains blank forever, the phone is on but doesnt boot whatsoever. My phone only successfully boots I've found when flashing sense based ROMS. I have s-off, bootloader is unlocked but looks like stock 1.44 hboot or whatever because for some reason I can not successfully flash moonshine. I have tried many different custom recoveries nothing I do can fix this problems. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I have already tried flashing RUU multiple times attempting to re do the whole unlocking, rooting, custom recovery bit with no improvement. Thanks everyone!

I am here in the sprint forum I also forgot to add that at one point before all this started happening, I accidentally wiped my internal storage and for whatever reason I could not get my windows 8 machine to recognize my phone in recovery mode to push files. Yes i had sdk installed and tried windows 7 drivers, etc. So i decided to RUU but forgot to relock bootloader so the ruu flashed on top of my phone which at the time had moonshine eng hboot. my phone appeared to go back to stock as well as hboot 1.44 but retained s-off somehow...I attempted to re do moonshine and have not been able to since...Whenever i flash an aosp based rom and the screen remains blank I am able to restart phone to get back into recovery now to flash sense based rom to avoid brick.
Also I just successfully flashed nocturnals ge edition rom so really i am only failing at flashing anything aosp,.... sucks because I am desperate for 4.3

Hey all , minutes ago the 4.4 update was downloaded via OTA on my converted GPE htc one. I pressed install and when it went to recovery i get the error message "set metadata recursive" error , and the device dosnt even boot anymore. Any ideas what might be the problem ?

Sounds like you have a custom recovery? If so try stock GE recovery

I have the exact same problem. I can get into the stock recovery but my device is not recognized in fastboot or adb
I got the same error when attempting to sideload 4.4 on my phone which I had previously converted to 4.3 GPE (rooted) using the instructions in the developer's forum. Guess it's time to do a full reflash.
I guess doing a full reflash is not gonna fix it. I would suggest flashing the stock recovery again and give it another shot.

I'm s-off with rumrunner
Then why not flash the full 4.4 RUU zip from GPE conversion thread?

seems like lots of issues with 4.4,
from @makbil:
It seems only s-off, 4.4 compatible recovery and a clean flash are required. If all 3 are not met -> bootloop

EDIT: just noticed you're supposed to be 100% stock (converted), so the above quote shouldnt apply to you, i guess, sorry
could someone list the correct things to do to make a clean conversion?

I'm also S-off with rumrunner, H-boot 1.54.
Flashed the RUU for 4.4 and all is fine. Luckily I backed up the data I cared about beforehand, just in case.
I just flashed the stock RUU because I had troubles to update my HTC to KitKat....(another story)
Then using fastboot I flashed ClockWork recovery but then when I am trying to boot to recovery I just getting black screen...
I can manually boot to boot loader by pressing power+voldown
How can I fix that? Tried fast boot 'fastboot erase cache' didn't help.
I can't understand why it is going wrong
I downloaded recovery from here https://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Was trying HTC One and HTC One (non-US GSM) versions

If your device is Dual SIM you need to be careful what you flash. You must flash Dual SIM files only. Other M7 recoveries are incompatible with your device.

Look here for a collection of dual SIM files RUU's and recoveries etc.

he's got 3 threads going now for the same issue
Moderator information,
Thread has been closed as per OPs request.
Many thanks,

I'm having the same issue that so many are having. I'm trying to S-Off to convert my htc one m7 to a Google edition.
I have installed the most recent versions of ViperOne and ElementX as my kernel. Each time I run Rumrunner and Firewater I get the errors saying to pray and restart or that my kernel isn't supported.
Right now I'm downloading Bulletproof for and Android Revolution HD to replace my rom and kernel and then will be trying rumrunner again. Should this work probably?
Thanks and sorry, I'm kind of a newb in all of this haha. I've read a ton of other forum posts and tried everything they've had to say, but haven't figured it out.
help :/ I installed ARHD, then wiped Davlick and Cache and then installed Bulletproof and went to reboot phone and now been stuck on the htc one splash screen for ten minutes.... held down power button and capacitive buttons on bottom of the screen flashed..... am I screwed?
EDIT: I ended up getting into recovery and installing the backup I made. Does anyone know where I went wrong though and how I can achieve s-off? Thanks!

And I keep hearing and reading about Sunshine but I'm trying to figure it out before I have to spend the money.

You must use twrp 2.6.3.3 to flash arhd!
So I ended up not being able to install the rom. I got the new recovery in, but if you view my other topic, the recovery crashes I believe or the phone does before I can wipe the cache or reboot.
