hi i tried different roms they are:
gingerxperiav11
gingerxperiav12
gingerxperiav10
Minicm7.2.0.7I
I just downloaded XGin_5.0 and extracted the zip then XGin_5.0 comes and put it in the xrecovery>backup in my sd card and it works! but its a bit glitchy
I want to know why those zip roms with [data,META-INF,system] inside the zip cant install on my phone?

X8 custom roms mainly for E15i or E15a.......
But yours is E16i......
No idea at all....
Just wait may be someone can help out ....
Both E15 and E16 have the same configuration,(It seems to me as my friend has one)
So it should work, you might be making some mistake.
review your steps, try gingerdx or xgin 6.1,
copy the zip files on the sdcard root,
use cwm to flash.

All X8 ROMs and kernels works with W8.Use latest versions without Baseband checking.Try GCR8.4.You can edit ROM\META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script in notepad for disable baseband checking.you cap unpack zip ,edit and then repack. Hope this helps.Perform a full wipe with recovery to avoiding boot loops
all roms for x8 are working on w8
bcoz same specs

how ican disable baseband checkin
I have an answer for the thread .
W8 has a different kernel or loader then x8, and this creates problem.
Initially i also had this problem, but now ma bootloader is unlocked and i only have x8 E15i kernel, because Stock E16i kernel isn't available. Thus there might be no problem installing the above stated roms after flashing E15i kernel.
Although i uses custom Kernel from our beloved devs ALFSAMSUNG and nAa.
To Original poster:
Why you aren't unlocking bootloader?
Is your phone 11W29+ ?
Just open the ROM(.zip) file using WinRAR and delete validate file then try to install the ROM agin
All u need to do is flash baseband again.... download the latest baseband (that ends with 015) and flash it using flashtool. I also own w8 and had the same problem. But now its solved and m using XGin 6.2
it doesnt works

Similar error.
I have the same problem. I tried to use a CF kernel, but the one for build "gingerbread.DDJVB" didn't work and I followed the steps in this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805526" (Second post.).
The flashing was successful and it installed CWM and superuser but whenever I boot into recovery, it ends up in android recovery 3e instead of CWM. I ultimately want to use the latest nightly rom for android 4.2.2. Is there a way for me to get into CWM? Or maybe get the rom without using CWM?

First of all you need to root your phone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AWYA1RkRhI and when you root it,you need to install xrecovery http://androidforums.com/x8-all-thi...ick-root-install-use-xrecovery-xperia-x8.html and when you do all that then you can install custom rom for stock kernel for exm. gingerDX

Baseband not influence the custom rom.
In my opinion, to start with the modding download a cyano 10.1, wipe data/system/chache/dalvik cache, flash Cyano, flash gapps and enjoy your new device

Are you using Jellybean or Gingerbread? If Gingerbread then first upgrade to Jellybean and install CoCore E 6.x or 7.0 then flash whatever ROM you like... Just be sure to BACKUP all your apps and data first...
HarshJelly ROM or Pure Vanilla.... These two are great in my opinion but they are both based on Samsung's Jellybean firmware... If you want Pure Android experience then try CyanogenMod 10 or 10.1 but they are still in beta stage so there are some bugs...

CoCore E is a custom kernel for our Galaxy S Advance... 6.x and 7.0 are recent versions of CoCore E kernel... You need to install this first before installing a custom ROM.. Just download and install it and then reboot to Recovery and install the ROM you want to use....
One more thing: Choose any CoCore E kernel that has TWRP recovery (not CWM recovery) since its much easier to use :good:

Go for harsh jelly the best with cocore 7.0 and low on battery drainage

And if you have problems of lagging and battery drainage with cocore (my case, but not everyone is the same) you can go to harsh jelly with stock kernel (which is good too)

With 3g on? I get massive drainage on 3g with harshjelly and cocore 7.0. Tried with other cocore still the same massive drainage with 3g. I've greenified apps too but still.. That massive drainage is 50% in 2 hours with 3g on and little usage.
Too bad..but I really do like HarshJelly.

No, you can't do it from stock recovery. Install UKF, then ES explorer (or any other). Download CoCore zip, unpack it. Use kernel.bin.md5 with UKF.
More explanation on UKF here.
I think your problem is caused by something else i dont regonize this issue
