Just to elaborate in case OP needs it, you want to flash boot.img from within fastboot (but only necessary if you're not S-OFF), i.e. boot into fastboot and launch an adb shell:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

iirc you have to flash the boot.img regardless if you are s-off or s-on for this rom.

Well, I can tell you, you aren't missing much given half the features are still broken. I would suggest using another one of Szeszo's ROMs which have a bit more functionality in them
I guarantee that after 5 minutes, you'll be switching to another ROM.

You still need to flash boot.img regardless of S-Off/On if you read my previous post.

You need to flash the boot.img
Sent from my Incredible S S710e using XDA Free mobile app

first you need to enter recovery and perform a full wipe, then flash the rom via HBoot (if the filename is PG32IMG.zip) or via a custom recovery.
then, if you get stuck at the booting animation, you need to flash boot.img
and then it should be done

If you flash the boot.img seperatly it might? I'm not sure with ICS roms. ..... worst that van happen is boot loop in which case you have to restore a nandroid.

Since you are SON HTCdev unlocked you need to flash your boot.img manually.
You can use any version. Read the second post (#2) in ice cold sandwich thread to learn how to flash your boot.img.

so i just extract the boot.img from the zip and follow the instructions after i flash the sob version ?
edit: im abit confused about the wifi module thing , do i need to do that bit or just the boot ?
take boot.img, boot into bootloader > fastboot
start up command prompt/terminal for adb (whatever OS your computer is on)
type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
when finished, in the same zip locate bcm4329.ko (for other roms it's usually in rom.zip>/system/lib/modules).
type
adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules/
you are done.

A little more information would be very helpful.
First is your phone completely S-OFF or are you running an UNLOCKED bootloader?
If you are running an UNLOCKED bootloader, did you manually flash the boot.img file contained in the PACmon ROM's zip file in FASTBOOT USB mode using the command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Did you check the Original POSTs in the PACman ROM thread to see if there are specific instructions on flashing the ROM for S-OFF versus S-ON Unlocked bootloader?

If you took a minute to read what's inside the PACman thread instead of just flashing right away, you will notice that blindndumb advised you to flash troj80's fix. The fix isn't provided in the ROM so find it somewhere closer to the end.

Lol, i made this thread bcuz i dont know how to use fastboot + dont even know how to enter recovery.
Install this
minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.1.3_setup.exe - 2.12 MB
Then install flashtool from flashtool.net. Goto C:\flashtool\drivers and run drivers.exe
Choose Z1, flashmode and fastboot drivers.
Enable usb debugging and unknown sources on the phone.
Turn the phone off and attach it to the computer whilst holding the volume up button. Then goto the folder where you set up the fastboot, make sure you have no items selected and rightclick whilst holding the shift key. Choose open command window here.
then type
Code:
fastboot devices
you should get a result back indicating that there is an attached device and a few alphanumeric characters.
If not let me know.
If you do then carry on with this.
Extract the boot.img from the update.zip and place it in the same folder as the fastboot. Then type this if the kernel is called boot.img, if not, replace the boot.img with the name and extension of the kernel
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
To enter recovery just boot the phone and press the volume up button when the phone vibrates or the LED flashes (If it does not vibrate or flash just keep pressing it until it enters recovery)
OK, will try it later today.
there is just one thing missing, what to do after flashing boot.img ?
