Help! Recovery for LB - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Goodmorning, can anyone teach me how to install recovery for 4.3(.569) JB?
Thanks in Advance.

If you're already rooted - XZDualRecovery
If you don't have root, then it's a little more complicated, as there is no method to root 4.3 directly without unlocking the bootloader.
You have a few choices -
1. Unlock bootloader to root.
2. Downgrade to 4.2.2, root and flash a prerooted rom.
3. Wait for an exploit to be found to root 4.3.
All this information is readily available around the Z section, so please search in future.

[Q] Downgrading on locked bootloader

Hi guys!
I have searched the forum and I DO have got a lot of answers. But still I want to get some things clear before I go on.
I just got myself an Xperia Z. It was already updated to 4.3 .569. The phone has a locked bootloader and I found out that it CAN´T be unlocked. So there I´m stuck.
I was first thinking about following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590088
But then I got some more questions.
If I downgrade according to that guide... since I get a custom recovery, can I flash any custom ROM that is made for locked bootloader? Do I even have to use the 4.3 .569 used in the thread above or can I just downgrade and root then choose the ROM to my liking?
Thanx for all your help!
Downgrading
Dear friend:
1-the easy way::laugh:
2-Flash 4.2.2 with flash tool
3-Root on locked boot loader
4- Install Dual Recovery follow
5- Install 4.3/4.2 Pre-rooted or any other rom of your choice.
Once you've downgraded, rooted and have a custom recovery, you can use any rom you like, as long as it's a stock based rom for locked bootloaders.
You cannot flash anything based on CM/PAC/AOSP/AOKP etc as they require a custom kernel and therefore an unlocked bootloader.

[Q] Rooting WITHOUT recovery/flashing?

I'm using a C6906 on Rogers in Canada, locked bootloader. Currently on the latest 4.2 variant, rooted. I personally don't care about having custom recoveries, modified kernels and all the other bells and whistles that float around these forums.
Is there a root for 4.3 for the Z1 that isn't a cluster**** of downgrading and flashing and what not?
Stock kernel, stock recovery, stock everything.. just a root method so I can use Greenify and TiBu on 4.3?
I know there's 90 other threads on root, and I'm sure someone is going to post the Dual Recovery thread - but please.. as much as most people don't read or search before posting, if you're thinking of posting that thread please re-read the above. I don't want to have custom recoveries and all that other crap.. just root, so the apps that require root work on 4.3.
There is not a Direct Root for 4.3. Sorry for you but if you want a Rooted Android 4.3 FW .136 you have to Downgrade to .534 Root with Bin4ry, then Update directly to Pre-Rooted .136 Provided by NUT. Also I know you don't want Dual Recovery but in this case is very helpful because after all this process you can Backup the entire system and if one day something go wrong with you Android you can Restore it to new. All have his reasons.
Are you on 4.2 or 4.3?
4.2 has direct root methods (vroot, 360root and kingo)
You can try this if you're on 4.3:
Downgrade to 4.2 via flashtool, buy supersu, tick the survival mode and upgrade to 4.3 again.
This can work...
You won't have a recovery.
But as of now: there is no direct way to root 4.3

Rooting

I have latest official firmware JB 4.3(12.1.A.0.266).
Now i want to root it.
Is there any way.
Thanks
Yes there is. However you need to unlock your bootloader for this.
Tutorial for Bootloader unlocking: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354721
Tutorial for Rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646193
However for unlocking bootloader you need to create a backup of the TA partition and this requires root.
So there is an loop in this issue.......
What some users do:
- Downgrade back to 4.1.2 (see my tutorial about Flashing with Flashtool)
- Root it
- Backup TA
- Unlock bootloader/Install CWM
- Install custom 4.3 rom with root

Those who do not want to unlock bootloader are waiting for @DooMLoRD to release an exploit for official firmware JB 4.3(12.1.A.0.266).
I am one of them.

Don't think you'll get an answer as this question has been asked countless times.
As of last month, you don't need to unlock the bootloader to get root on 4.3
But you need to downgrade to 4.1.2 (257) and root using doomlord's exploit. Then install recovery. After that choose a rom of your choice (based on the latest .266 or .201).
For noob's infor:
a. the downgrade is necessary as you need root and doomlord's exploit for rooting works only up to version .257.
b. rooting is simply needed so that you can install recovery (CWM is good)
c. after which all will be wiped out by the new rom which will be flashed with its recovery and root :good:
And before you ask where these files are: search in the various forum, notably "android development" and "General" sections

You'll need flashtool to flash .254 (full firmware). Note that flashtool will only work if all the drivers are installed in your computer (there is an installer inside flashtool directory, after installation - double click on that to install the drivers)
Hunt around for the .254 ftf and .257 (kernel only) if you can't locate it in the link I gave you.
[The .254 in the link is "kernel" only - you want the full firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964)
The link to cwm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923 but I prefer this one (simpler): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444605

[Q] One stop shop for rooting on 4.4.2

Hi all,
Apologies for starting a new thread, but I cant find what I am after anywhere at present.
My wife has a Xperia Z, completely stock, and just been upgraded to 4.4.2, and is now having the problems with SD Card permissions.
Is there somewhere with all the relevant info to
a) Unlock the bootloader (if required - where do I check)
b) Root the device
c) Install the correct version of CWM recovery.
Once this is done, I am happy to install the relevant bits and pieces, probably via the Xposed framework.
Thanks in anticipation

unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty
to root the device downgrade the device to 4.2 and root using easy root by doomlord using this link after that flash pre rooted 4.4.2 rom
for flashing recovery use this link just flash the recovery don't flash kernel or root as you will be rooted beforehand
Thanks for that, I am aware of the warranty issue. Is there a link for downgrading to 4.2 ??
I'm anticipating similar issues on my Motorola xt890 RAZR I when KitKat is eventually released for that
