Seen a few GELs for Moto X. Which is the most accurate GEL out there right now visually and animation wise?

What do you mean GELs? Google experience launcher? There's only one original GEL the others try to imitate it but it can't be duplicated. If your asking for a good launcher to each their own.

Obviously I'm well aware of these skinned GELs as for their not baked into the os like Nexus 5 GEL. I'm looking for suggestions...not questions.

Nope trolling
The phone is awesome. It is definitely smooth as butter IMO. I had the Note 2 previously and it wasn't near as smooth as the X. To me, it is right on par with the smoothness of an iphone. I highly recommend it to everyone who asks about it.

Sorry, no infrared port on the X.
You'll also get pretty close to a stock android experience as well.

I've owned every big phone (GS4,HTC One, N4, etc) and I can easily say this is the best phone I have owned. Super smooth with every task and exceptional battery life. I have not had one frame drop in anything ui or gaming based so far. I would highly recommend it to anybody and I have most of my family upgrading to it.
I thought it was supposed to take a while to load facebook and games, this phone has no lag at all.
I've had the Galaxy S3, Note 2, and HTC One before the Moto X. For me, the Moto X has the best call quality and volume.
O have an Xperia S but I want to buy a MotoX it really worth to buy it? Or only for the camera should I stay with the Xperia S?

Good phone but it was not for me, I tried it and I really didn't like stock Android just to plain. I'm use to all the bells and whistles or gimmicks as what there called around here lol. I'll stick with Samsung until they give me reason to leave but for a person that like the nexus this should be a great phone for them.

I will admit having to find the work arounds for the features I was used to from HTC (IE Facebook Contact Pictures) was a bit of a hassle.

Use a custom launcher. I recommend Nova.

Nova is better cause I already paid for it. Lol
Actually... They are very similar.... Very. But I don't know the exact differences.

I noticed that even the screenshots on the Play Store for both apps are nearly identical. I haven't paid for either, but I might pay for the one that is the better deal.

I know. Someone seriously copied from someone. Lol
I'll say this... Here on XDA... You'll see Nova mentioned allot. Can't say I've ever hardly seen Apex mentioned.

Just rooted my DEV edition Verizon. Love it. Blacked Out most apps, just loving it. But of course I want to change things because I can.
Coming from my razr maxx 8xx ram and 1.2 I am loving the extra power and cores.... BUT.... My phone flies! How much better would battery life be if it was underclocked a bunch?
Also, is there kernel alternatives?
Thanks.
PS... Anyone questioning if they might get the moto X, get the dev edition. I feel like I am in phone heaven.

don't recommend doing it to much at all i know from just using the Enhanced Kernel a lot of people are having issues not being able to wake there phone up after hitting the power button to shut the screen off without having to restart there phone. so def be careful underclocking your device.
I took my phone out to take a picture and it took fine, but immediately after there was an artifact on them preview screen. I took another picture and now there is definitely something wrong with the camera (seen in top right). I have never dropped my phone or put in a position to be damaged. Any ideas???

I've tried cleaning it multiple times with a microfiber cloth and can't get the spot to even move so I'm not sure if that is the problem It is just strange how it was fine one picture and with no change in conditions it has this problem.
Have you rebooted? Try force stopping the camera app and clearing the app data. Just a thought.

Just tried it and it didn't help. I really don't think it is a software problem, unfortunately. I'm going to see if I can remove the backing of the phone to get a better look at the lens.
Yikes.
Good luck!

I think that is what I'm going to do after looking at the instructions for removing the backing. I wonder if it is even something wrong with the camera ribbon cable.
For those who own a Moto X with leather or wooden backs. How are the wooden or Leather backs? ie look, feel, and most importantly durability? I was planning on getting a basic black but now I'm intrigued by the leather and wooden options. Any input would be great. All research I've done brings up people's first impressions. I'd like to hear/see how they hold up for a year+. Any pictures would be great as well. I'm looking forward to picking up the new one next month. Thanks in advanced.

I don't know about them, but i would recommend waiting for the moto x style to come out, only 100 bucks more for a flagship killer?
