I have an Xperia Z C6616 (Bell PentaBand LTE model)
For the longest time I was running a generic UK C6606 ROM on it with no problems.
Recently I went to sell it so I flashed the stock Bell ROM again.
Unfortunately after this flash something seems to have gone haywire.
Everything works fine except for calls and texting.
I can even browse the internet using H+ but I cannot complete a call.
It tells me that it is connected to the Home network but yet it shows me the notification of 'Selected Network Unavailable'
Here is what I have tried so far:
Reflashing generic UK ROM
Reflashing Bell 4.2.2 ROM
Reflashing Bell 4.3 ROM
Returning to stock via Sony PC Companion using 'Repair my phone'
Nothing seems to have worked. I still cannot make phone calls or send/receive texts.
It tells me that the 'Mobile network not available' whenever I attempt to make a call.
What have I done?
Is this recoverable? What else can I try?

Bump. Please help.
Bell won't honor warranty because I dont have an account with them.
And they told me that even if I did...
Because I unlocked the phone, I have voided my warranty.
Wtftftf?
I just have $350 paper weight now.
TL;DR reply: No!
Standard reply: The 6616 is a North American carrier-specific handset, in your case, Bell . The bootloader status of your phone must have been LOCKED, with Bell specific bloat pre-loaded with your ROM. If you've flashed GB 6603 ROM, then you have got the bootloader unlocked (whether by Bell unlock code or from any other paid service). The phone was sold subsidised by the carrier with a precondition that you/the original owner accepts a two year locked-in period with Bell (contract phone). Unlocking the bootloader simply voids your warranty or any hopes of getting a replacement/refund/service from Bell. The best option for you is to obtain paid service from Sony, (dunno if that may work or not). My sympathies.....

So firstly, thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.
I'm not too concerned with the warranty refusal from Bell. I'm working to do something about it.
I have NOT unlocked the Bootloader. I have only loaded Official Sony ROMS which do NOT require a locked bootloader.
This phone does not let you unlock the bootloader.
I just did the network unlock which they said also voided the warranty.
My main concern is whether I can try something to fix this.
If there is a HARD reset or something.
Is there anything from my side that I can try?
In terms of rooting the phone or looking at some diagnostic tool or loading some other official Rom?
Thanks once again for the reply.

Hello everyone, we are a group of HD7 lovers having a hottest HD7 forum in China, and want to share our experience with you worldwidely.
Most of us purchased T-mobile version HD7, some are htc version. We can use "China Mobile" or other operators SIM card, with good reception of telephone, SMS, GPRS & 3G , but many HD7s can not flash ROMs. My HD7 shows "Security Unlocked" on top of Bootloader Mode, can flash different rooms such as RUU_Schubert_O2_DE_1.61.207.01, RUU_Schubert_TMOUS_1.20.531.01, RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE. But others are without "Security Unlocked", can only flash few rooms like RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE.
Following questions puzzled me for a long time, we want some help:
1. There are lots of HD7 unlocking service selling about $15 online, do we need to buy it, since we can use local SIM on T-mobile HD7? Is this kind of unlocking service meaning "network unlock"?
2. For those can not flash ROMs, is that because of SPL locked? What does "Security Unlocked" mean? How we can flash other operators ROMs?
Also, our HD7 can display Chinese language, but we need Chinese input inbuild WP7 so badly. Now we are using free apps such as "Chinese SMS", "Lights Chinese Type", but we are looking forward someone maybe can help to develop inputs. Otherwise we can only waiting for Msft release Chinese ROMs, which is unknown date.
Thank you so much for your concern.
Regards.
1, is only to sim unlock the phone (and nothing more)
2, sec unlocked is that you can flash all the STOCK rom's (and only stock rom's , and radios but that isn't that interesting for you)
what you could do :
look for someone that can make a working goldcard (fakes the sec unlock , so you can flash all the stock rom's)
or you can wait for Hspl/sec unlock
but your main problem is the input language and that will take long (the system isn't hacked )
I think that MS is faster with lang updates then the hackers can crack the system.
so I say wait for the updates .
Thank you sooo much for your detail reply.
I want to know more about goldcard for HD7 sec unlock, where i can find more info in the forum or some websites?
Best regards.
And what does "security unlocked" on bootloader mode mean ?

a goldcard is a file that you put on a sd card (for the hd7 you need a "Y-cable to connect a cardreader to the phone and an external power supply ) this is a generated Key that bypass the vendor ID checking (you can flash all the stock rom's)

this mean that the bootloader is security unlocked (no need of a goldcard) and that you can flash all the stock rom's you can get your hands on and you can flash radio rom's from different phones (DON'T try to flash radio rom's that at this point in time)
here is a link where you can get a goldcard http://psas.revskills.de/
security unlocking isn't available now (hackers need to crack the stuff they need for sec unlocking)
Thank you for your time, Ceesheim.
Want to discuss with you more. Hope that won't bother you. I bought T-mobile HD7 online and I think it is the original pack directly "imported" from the USA, because there is a T-mobile SIM inside, and the accessories are not unpacked. IMEIs all match.
Here is my question again, i assume the first buyer in the USA unlocked the DH7 network so that he can sell it in China or other countries (nobody will buy HD7 if can't make calls), but i dont know how he did "security unlocked". I bet some Americans know how to do it.
I also keep update with Ansar's development. He is doing a great job. But i think there are many firends in this forum can not flash Stock ROMs or Custom ROMs, even those made by Ansar. If we could find out what happened behind "security unlock", maybe it is good for all of us, bcz we can flash all rooms.
I flashed this ROM for the first time (looks like a SingTel Rom, with some SingTel apps):
RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE_1.57.728.02_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10_Signed,
Now i am using this (without any operators apps, but with 5 lang packs):
RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.60.401.01_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE

the first buyer didn't do the sec unlock (only sim unlock I think) , HTC did that . as we speak only HTC can sec unlock the hd7 (there are alot phones htc delivered unlocked , but don't ask me way not all phones are unlocked)
and here you see the different , I can only flash O2 DE rom's (I am not sec unlocked) , you can flash HTC_Europe , hTC_Asia_SEA actually every stock rom .
goldcard is the only thing to bypass the phone right now and it allows you to flash every stock rom there is .
Understood now, you are really awsome.

I want to change my nexus 4 for a moto X but I hate to lose the "nexus liberty", in other words I don't want go back to a smartphone that I can't get root. I read in XDA forums the jcase root for motoX 4.4 version (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538896) but in the first step he said (I quote):
"You need to get the camera update from http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ghost/list.php and flashing back to it. You must be 100% stock before continuing."
I'm from colombia and i saw that Skrilax_CZ have the ClaroColombia image, but i'm not have that carrier and if I get the motoX will be from other carrier named TIGO Colombia, so my question is that the ClaroColombia image works with the TigoColombia phone. If not, someone can help me to find the TigoColombia image?
Yours will probably be boot loader unlockable so you can just flash root
If you are bootloader locked then it will not let you flash anything other than what you phone is supposed to have to feel free to give that a shot. You can probably bootloader unlock however and save yourself the trouble of using the exploit to gain root. Also once you are bootloader unlocked if that devices is model xt1053 you can flash just about every image out right now for tmobile or other xt1053 carriers.

OK, finally I have all the information.
The motoX of Tigo Colombia with the camera update patch is:
Model: X1058
Baseband version: MSM8960PRO_BP_2323.020.90.00R
System version: 139.12.37.ghost_row.Latam.en.CO
Compilation number: 13.9.0Q2.X-116-LCX.37
The phone is from a friend of my
So as i see it (correct me if i'm wrong please) I have three options for root:
1- Don't do it and life with that
2- Do it via Custom recovery and superSU-chainfire
3- Via SlapMyMoto xploit with the images of Skrilax_CZ (http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ghost/list.php)
The option #2 implies the use of TWRP or another recovery. I actually have a nexus 4 with a custom recovery and when I upgrade android via OTA the phone goes to a bootloop, with the nexus it's easy to solve because google publish the factory images. With the motoX it's another question...........
The option #3 implies use the factory image of Skrilax_CZ (http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ghost/list.php) but as i said when I open the [Q] i don't know what factory image i can use. Hopefully with the info above someone can tell me what image i can use or if i can't use any at all.

For some weird reason I can't flash the phone with the Movistar's ROM, but the flashing is working with the AT&T ROM.
EDIT: It won't let me flash it with Telcel's ROM either. Is there a way to get around this or should I just install AT&T's ROM (Which I hate)?

It's NOT recommended to flash other carrier official firmware. Custom ROM's are a different story.
If you want to try anyway, at the risk of bricking your device, you could try the Rogers official ROM IF AT&T is also XT1058. I can confirm the Rogers firmware has ZERO bloatware. Source: I own Rogers unlocked Moto X and run stock ROM.
Mine is a XT1058 AFAIK, but then again, just to confirm, where can I double check?
EDIT: Nevermind. It didn't let me. Only AT&T's version seems to be working.
Is there a way to uninstall the bloatware without unlocking the device? Perhaps by rooting?
Ah too bad.
For future reference, model# is on the back

Did AT&T do something to these phones so they wouldn't work with other stock ROM's?

You can't root if you are on 4.4.2 already, unless you have an unlocked bootloader. Which you can't do on motos site. Not with an at&t retail phone.
You can look in general section for the China unlock thread, and can pay for an unlock code....if your phone is on his list.
Otherwise, you can't root.
And flashing other carriers firmware is not a great idea as said above....especially since your bootloader is locked... Limits your options for fixing issues.
So my trusty M7 decided to go rogue on me and now decides to smother my night and dark camera shots with a purple tint

A ***relocked*** bootloader (as oposed to ***locked***) will not give you back you warranty. Only if you set it back to ***locked*** (not ***relocked***) and this require s-off. As for the date of unlocking he refers to, i'm assuming its only the date when you have requested an unlock_code.bin from htcdev.com. In theory they can't prove that you have used the code even if you have requested one. So it might be possible to recover your warranty if you can set back the bootloader to locked (not re-locked) ---> need s-off.
I see! Thanks for that piece of info. And yes I am S-OFF.
I'm assuming the "how to go back to stock guide" shows how to get locked bootloader, correct?

very interesting conversation... did that guy actually look up whether you unlocked bootloader using htcdev
so if someone went into a pharmacy and bought a box of con*oms, then this guy is assuming they will be used
or are you using HTCSync, cause that seems to "send home" that information
in either case, setting your phone back to 100% stock (ie LOCKED, no tampered, stock ROM and firmware), should get you warranty (provided you are within the period )
and although vague (as usual), the HTCDev bootloader unlock says it "....may void warranty...."
I also noticed that you are in the UK, and i've seen plenty of posts with the purple tint (and other hardware) issue being fixed, even with unlocked bootloader, s-off, and running a custom rom
so don't let them get away from trying to back out on fixing the thing the M7 is most well known for, the purple tinted camera
just my two cents
In that case I'll just run an RUU and send it off and hope for the best
Oh and no I've never used HTCSync...it's too cumbersome....
Thanks guys.

in a nutshell:
1- remove TAMPERED
2- set LOCKED (not relocked)
3- run/flash RUU
4- [optional; once you've confirmed everything is good <- and please make sure it is] set S-ON
you can check my guide for more detailed information
Everytime I have had an android smartphone, I unlocked and rooted straight away. I know what benefits unlocking the bootloader and rooting the ROM bring to the whole experience of using the smartphone but I have never actually looked or thought about the negative effects of unlocking and rooting.
I just received my Mi 9 Lite last night and I am just about the unlock its bootloader and get Magisk flashed. But before I do that, I am interested in people's opinion about what they think of rooting their phone.
- Can I root the stock ROM without unlocking the bootloader? I have heard this is possible but no idea how! If yes, does it have any limitations or is it the same as rooting after unlocking the bootloader?
- Does anyone have any other valid reason for not unlocking their device except warranty and maybe system updates? They always warn you about security, system updates and finger print sensors not working etc... is this true?
About the system updates, usually Xiaomi publishes the flashable ROM on their website which I can download and flash it manually so I don't have to worry about missing out on ROM updates.
Warranty wise, I am not too concerned either.
Security wise, I don't think this is an issue too as I always know what I would be flashing and installing on my phone.
Thank you.
I used some rooted device before . Don't no what you need, but, with this phone WITH NO ROOT, it's possible to uninstall or freeze some app, using blokada, you can stop/ block many thing.... and keep a clean and fresh device, with no mod, like out of the box ; )

Thank you.

Don't try to flash or modify anything on an Xiaomi with locked bootloader, you have many different ways to hardbrick device xD ?
