Well........ Just keep charging for 1 -2 hours. do not try to switch on the device. if it doesn't help, try with different charger.

Just plug it in for 1 hour then try reebooting
I had this problem. What it was for me was the micro usb dock on the phone was bent downwards and out of place. To fix it I put in the cable and bent it back. I do not exactly recommend it but it was a quick fix for me.

[Q] No longer switch on please help

I had a S i9000 with a cracked screen. I have replaced the screen and since I put the bits together the phone no longer switches on
If I place in the battery charger the battery appears on the screen and chargers normally but when I try to switch the phone on nothing happens.
Could please somebody give me any suggestions?
Is there any alternative way to switch on the phone?
Thank you
This may seem obvious but leave it on charge for 30 mins unplug then try turning on

[Q] charging over usb

Is there any indicator of charging? When I plug in charging there are no indicator of charging once screen is off. Couple of times, while charging over USB, my phone didn't charge at all, and I didn't know because screen was off and there's no indicator of charging exceps icon on screen.
Anyone had problems with charging over USB?
Your usb ports may not provide enough power for charging. Often the case with laptops, sometimes only specific usb ports provide power.
My USB charger works fine but there is NOT an external indicator because there is NO LEDs

You do not want to keep the screen on while you are sleeping, for example!!!
Try this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.led.notify&hl=en
Makes use of the LED backlit screen, VERY useful.
Not enough power over USB is not likely, because sometime it does charge, sometime it doesn't. On same USB, I charge HTC Desire without any problem.
And I also think that not having indicator of powering is wrong, because keeping screen on is bad solution. There should be a led light indicator or some other way without keeping screen on.
Sounds like a bad cable but if you can charge your desire then i'll guesss it's not.
Stupid question, but have you tried different cables? Different usb-sockets?
Only problem left I can think of is if your connector on the phone is bad.
Mine charges just fine through USB.
Tried different cables, different USB. But sometimes works, wometimes not, so it bugs me. I would hate if it's bad connection on the phone, but just can't find what it is, since sometimes it works, sometimes not.
It would have been nice, afaik the S III has one. But then that's a design decision by Samsung. If you decide you need that LED, you should have chosen another phone.
For me, it's not that that big an issue...

Red light and nothing...

Hi guys,
I have a very strange problem. My Xperia Z was discharged and when I was connect it to charger the I've got permanent red light. Even after disconnecting from the charger the red light still occurs. I cant turn on the phone!! Please help!!!
Just keep it on the charger for a few hours,it should spring back to life:laugh:
This happens cuz there isn't enough charge left in the battery for the screen to turn on(maybe,i think so) and show the battery meter. When it gets recharged to a certain level(around 1%) it will hop back to life.
Yes, true. Strange bug...

Screen Flicker? Normal?

Hello, I'm not seeing any others with this issue...don't know if it's normal or not but I often get a "screen flicker" when using the phone with the brightness lower than half. I really notice this when the app has a black background. For example using the dark themed XDA app. It looks like you see with old computer monitors when you tried to take video of them.
I have no such issue, and i use it on a very dark setting, sometimes with an app to make it even darker, amoled is great for this. Only thing i have noticed is that some apps override the set brightness.
Get it to stock and if it continues get it replaced.
i believe ive noticed the same thing but when using the quick charger. when plugged in the screen will constantly flicker but stops as soon as i unplug it. if im using my computer to charge i dont have this issue.
It flickers sometimes only with the quick charger on lowest brightness w/ adaptive on.

OK thanks. Can't recall if I was using the quick charger but I may have been since the likely time I'm using it that dim is while laying in bed. I'm going to keep note of that for a few days and see if that's it.
