hi guys i hope you are doing fine ..
my father's HTC one is screwed up
simply I opened the boot loader and flashed CWM recovery
the problem is the root didn't install perfectly and I had to wipe the whole phone witch affected the stock rom :/
I had to flash a custom ROM without doing any s-off/on
The new ROM is installed perfectly but root is not working at all!!!
I now can't go back to stock OR get the phone rooted :/
What do I do, it's not my phone
You should ask your father's forgiveness. =)

That's why you should not tamper with other's phone unless you know what you are doing. Now you want to go back to stock?
post your fastboot getvar all minsu IMEI/SN and maybe we can save you from being killed by your dad :laugh:
Check My post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659559. See if that's helpful. After you do all of that, you can then download of recovery.img of choice and put the phone in fastboot usb mode and flash the recovery. I personally like TWRP. (After you install it, it will go into recovery and when you reboot the system it will automatically install root for you.). Hope this helps.

when i unrooted did it delete my backups!?!!? omg i dont know what to do... anybody know what i can do?? i wiped data/ factory re set and its still sitting here on that logo... i can pull the battery and still go into fastboot/recovery...
PLEASE someone help me.. i dont care if i have to start all over, i want it working! lol

I have the latest clock work recovery...
Download and flash a Rom.
You may have f'd up your current Rom files. So if you can go into recovery, just download a new Rom from here..put it on your sd card and flash.
^what he said
just flash a stock root rom. that way you have a clean nand to work from.
I rooted, unlocked bootloader and flashed CWM. Then a day later the 4.3 update came around for the Google Play One. When it asked to reboot I said ok, watched it then saw it fail in CWM. I saved the zip to my download folder, now I want to know what I need to do to update the phone.
I tried flashing it within CWM but it fails. Thanx alot for the help guys, Im already on Hboot 1.54 since I just got the phone.

easiest way would be to flash the stock recovery back and get the OTA.
it's located in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43459658&postcount=1
flash it the same way you flashed cwm

yes but i dont want xbsa
i want rooted stock att ics
currently the phone can boot to twrp so i can recover from there if need be.
(this phone will just be used to play games and watch movies and probably as a vlc remote so i want to keep the 3d features)
You do not have to install XBSA ROM; just install the rooted ICS and you are done. Or find v30B firmware to flash (US ATT).
links?

when i go into the root fastboot it says partition does not exists
Hey everyone. I just recently bough a new Atrix HD since my other phone broke but anyways...
1. i noticed i can access the root of the phone (like / partition) but i cant edit it? so is this sign of root? I tried installing superuser binary and it didn't let me so i guess there is no root.
So
How do i boot into the boot loader?
What is the best method for rooting and instaling SU on my atriix (running 4.1.1)?
How do i flash a recovery and which one is best if i want to get cm11? (on my other phone i needed a completely different recovery to get kitakt)
Do i need to unlock bootloader first then root or vice versa?
So the more details the better i will understand if THANK YOU ahead of time.
sorry for such noob questions
PS yes i did google on how to do this and its a bit choppy. like no step 1 step 2 step 3.

No, its far from choppy. The only root method that works on 4.1.1 is Motochopper, and thats an automated script. So how you can say its choppy is beyond my understanding.
Since you are new to AHD, I highly recommend you reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2350721
I also recommend you download Mythtools, which is the all in one tool for AHD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262726
And download Philztouch recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552622
Bootloader locked = enjoy stock forever
Bootloader unlocked = you can customize
Flashing a ROM is the same as with any device, boot to CWM/TWRP recovery, wipe down, and flash

OOps my bad. By chopy i meant things i found on google. like they just say "this is how you root it" but do i have to unlock bootloader first like on htc or do i root first? etc
I just used motochoper and everything runs great.
i get how to flash a rom haha but do i unlock bootloader first then recovery?
Never mind.
Thank you so much this is so much simpler than my HTC (coming from an lg where you just plug and play) so pretty much this is nothing new to me.
Thanks again.
Now....which kit kat rom would be best right now?

Yes. You have to unlock the bootloader to flash anything, including a custom recovery.
Um....okay the fastboot part....
How do i flash CWM after i have unlocked the bootloader which i just did. I just kind of wonder....do i have to dowload the 400+ megabyte .zip for fastboot?! or im getting something wrong.
okay awkward....
i flashed the recovery and it said the recovery (i got cwm from official cm instructions) and it said it installed fine.
The phone boots and stuff...but when i cant do the following
1. Reboot into recovery using volume down and power button
2. Reboot into recovery using fastboot command (it reboots but instead of a recovery it gives me an android with an exclamation point in a red triangle)

You're booting into stock recovery. You have to change install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak You should find it in /system/etc I believe
Then reflash the custom recovery

Not sure, personally I'm still on stock 4.1.1. I came from the A4G and the furthest we got was 4.2.2, so yeah, you could say that I'm staying with what I'm comfortable for the moment.

I have a us cellular note 5, was trying to install a rom, failed and ended up deleting my system folder. I flashed the stock rom with odin, but the phone can only boot to the logo stops, and then goes to recovery mode

If you flashed a different recovery like TWRP then you'll have to use that again.. Have you rooted the phone before? If so, you probably have to flash stock firmware files one by one in Odin including flashing the recovery.

Since you've rooted the phone I'm gonna say the easiest way to fix this right now is to re-flash TWRP and download a rom that one of the devs on here have created and push it to the phone and use TWRP to flash it.. This is the best way for now since you are going to need a LOT more information and a better understanding of how to fully remove the root access because you cannot run a stock rom while rooted.. After you at least get it going then read around on here and you'll find all the answers and ways to fix things by those of us who've already been in your spot.

I'm trying to flash a custom rom but the most I can get it to do is hang up on the Samsung logo or a black screen, is there any specific roms I should try?
