imei is in the TA partition , but something happened wrong with u , first try to revert back to sony rom (clean install and see what happens ) if didn't work ask the developer of the TA partition at his thread cause playing with TA partitions is so vulrnubale ( u can easily hard brick it )
but to what it think installing sony rom and flashing your TA partition back will solve the problem
Everything working again,
Restocked by followint existenz instructions and flashed existenz
All is good now

Dear all,
I really should not post this, but i will do so.
I have unlocked bootloader to install CM 10.2 NIGHTlY. Despite of the so much warnings to backup your TA partition i did NOT backup it, because i thought "I never bought music so i have no DRM keys". Oh boy, was i so wrong to think that DRM keys are not only music related.
However: i was not happy with CM 10.2 and relocked bootloader with flashtool and reverted back to stock wit a FTF file.
For now: everything works fine.
Now my question, i see that my trackid is working fine, it recognizes music, so it works, also i still have the bravia engine option in the menu. So i am missing something here? I'm a lucky bastard who did not lose the DRM keys with unlocking the bootloader? How can i check if my TA partition is intact with all DRM keys?? Also OTA updates are working fine (yeah, of course its saying no update available, only there was 1 walkan app update available and i installed it success)

Drm keys have gone for good then, BE2 won't work on pictures. Track ID works on unlocked bootloader anyway
Edit: of you go into service menu and click on service tests then security down at the bottom you will see the top two are unknown error that is your missing Drm keys

You are correct, i see unknown error 2 times. So that means i will never get the functionality back then?

Nope, it's gone.
Skickat från min C6603 via Tapatalk 2
Nope they are gone your Drm keys are generated via your imei number at the time your phone is made, the only way is if you work on the production line of the Xperia Z and specialise in that with the software which is very slim and the imei number would most probably change which is illegal

I just want to ask that if I create a backup using TWRP or CWM before unlocking my bootloader. And after that if I want to relock it, will I get my DRM keys back if restore the backup which I created using TWRP or CWM?

So what should I do if want to make a backup of everything including TA?
Backup your TA partition with this tool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
You can backup everything else with your custom recovery.

Hi guys,
I tried searching for it but can't seem to find the answer.
I made multiple backups (on the SD card) using CWM while on CM11 before I tried to flash a custom kernel.
That kernel soft-bricked my phone. To get my phone working again, I used flashtools to flash a stock ROM.
Question: At what point can I restore using the backup made?
Can I restore as soon as I have CWM on my phone again or do I have to have cyanogenmod on it again etcetc
Cheers
Yes you can. By the way, what recovery did you use to backup back then?

I used CWM
I've read that I need to use CWM to do the restore?
Yes, buddy. Just flash any kernel that have CWM recovery. Then you can restore your previous backup.

Nyes ^^ Actually it backups that much, that it is a backup of the whole ROM so if you backup your stock ROM with CWM and you flash a.. Let's say Android 4.4.2 AOSP-based ROM and you restore that backup, when being on the AOSP ROM you'll be there on stock, like you never would have flashed the other ROM
But it doesn't backup the TA partition for example, so you can't backup the Bravia Engine 2 or Download Music Info in WALKMAN, but a backup of this is only useful when unlocking the bootloader, so a CWM backup shall be enough for your needs

Okay, that's good
I think you wouldn't need to wipe anything, because it also restores the cache, so also the dalvik cache and it overwrites the old one I would think. If you come in such a situation just try it out, if it doesn't work you can still go into recovery and do the wipes, but I am quite sure (not 100% but about 90% ), that there is no need for wiping anything when restoring

Hi.
I was running AOSP but I just wanted to go back to stock, so I followed a tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/guide-how-to-revert-phone-cm-aosp-aokp-t2458530).
I'm currently on DoomKernel v18, Android 4.2.2 (10.3.1.A.2.67).
My bootloader is unlocked but I do not have backup of TA partition, is it still possible to re-lock bootloader?
Yes. Flash a stock kernel then use the BLU mode of Flashtool to relock the bootloader.

No. You don't need root to use Flashtool.

Would the C6603_10.3.1.A.2.67_Generic ES.ftf work?
and if it does i can update OTA after re-locking bootloader?
Yes, as the kernel is the same in all .67 roms. Just exclude everything but the kernel and don't wipe anything when flashing.
Edit - You should be able to update OTA, providing you haven't modified your software in any other way (deleting system apps, for example).

Okay, I noticed my wifi hadnt connected so i went into settings to turn it on. I press the little switch it goes blue then back to grey almost immediately, and then it says Turning on Wi-Fi but wont turn on. Bluetooth works fine and so does mobile data/service. not sure what happened but its a big issue as i only use wifi.
You shouldn't have any problems. I did exactly what I told you to my own phone with no issues.
Did you flash fota kernel from the FTF?
If you did, try flashing the FTF without wiping data. That will wipe /system and reflash it and should solve any problems. Note that you will lose root and any other system modifications if you do that.

No, It flashed
kernel.sin
rpm.sin
loader.sin
I'm not near my PC at the moment, so cannot check, but when you're choosing what to flash, there should be an option to exclude fota kernel. Don't select it.
If all else fails, just do what I suggested and that should fix your issue.

same issue :/
didnt really understand what you meant with the without wiping data thing, sorry.
There are check boxes that you select to wipe data and appslog. Make sure they're not checked and flash the whole FTF. That should fix the problem.
I'm not sure what has happened, as I have done exactly what I told you before and my WiFi works fine. :/

Hi, just wondering, if there is anyone who is able to answer? (as i have a bricked Xperia Z motherboard) if its possible to use a backup from my bricked Xperia Z on my new Xperia Z ?
I do understand that i cannot restore the TA partition, (as in TWRP it has the option on which partitions to restore) as it will end up bricked, any other partitions not to restore ?? just wondering if i can restore the actual backup onto my new Xperia Z in anyway because i had BeanStalk rom all setup great before it went.
Any help is appreciated.
As long as you don't restore TA partition, you'll be safe on restore remaining ones, but expect some qwirks an so on

So definitely safe to restore all partitions apart from TA ?
KERNEL IMAGE - SAFE ?
TRIM AREA - UNSAFE ?
SYSTEM - SAFE ?
CACHE - SAFE ? (NO REASON FOR THIS I GUESS?)
DATA - SAFE ?
Thanks for the input.....
Only backup data partition if u just want your personal stuff.
There is no reason to restore system or kennel cus ur phones are same. Just go flash a new one
