Depends which ROM you're using, some allow for the Updating through the VDMClient but others are really buggy when it comes to updating the Profile/PRL...?
I have bad boyz rom 1.1, but when i factory reset...it allows me to update, but all of sudden it stops working.......
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Do you mean that it initiates the update, but gives you an error? or does it just sit on that screen? OR does it not initiate at all?
It would seem @rootlinux was having problems as well with updating Profile/PRL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50609118&postcount=727
Looks like it may be a ROM related issue, I'd keep my ears open on that forum for now. Unless you change ROMs until its fixed.
It initiates but prompt me to try again later or contact customer service if persists and i try prl it give me error code 1233

are you doing it over wifi or network, sometimes it won't work over network.

So I can't give you an exact time of how long this has gone on, but it's been a few weeks probably. Every time I try to update my profile or PRL it gives me an error saying it can't be updated. Haven't had this problem before. I don't think it's sprints network, cause I haven't had problems like this before... Anyone have any ideas? I'm s-off running the latest d3rp rom.

You can try updating on wifi. Second choice is to go to settings, mobile data. Then click on network mode. Change from lte/cdma to cdma only. Update profile and prl. Switch back to lte/cdma.

Would help to know the exact error you are getting.
I can't remember the exact error, but it worked over wifi. Thank you.

well it worked over wifi.. but my 3g still funny?
It sounds like you have a bad network connection honestly...network vision upgrades, phone issue, settings issue remains tbd but if it worked on wifi but not on network i would say there is a network issue.

Flashed cm10.1 release candidate today. Everything seemed fine, then I discovered I wasn't receiving calls and wasn't able to make calls either. Anybody have any similar issues? Anyone have any suggestions as to what I may have done to cause this or if there are any settings I may need to change? Please help. Thanks in advance.
I literally just had this problem and spent the past 5 hours with useless tech support.
Don't call Sprint tech support, they just end up doing something on their end that makes you lose your texting and data, too. They ****ed me so hard I have to go into a repair center.
I can't even get another phone correctly activated in the meantime to use as a placeholder.
I'm just as lost as you are, too.
Try ##786# menu and reset. Make sure you are in a good signal area, this will do hands free activation and update prl.

The problem with trying that is the phone number and MSID fields are now blank, and going into the other dialer menu ##221542# and setting them that way doesn't stick past the reboot it forces when you try and apply those.
Maybe try following this thread

Tried that a couple different times with a couple different tech support reps, each time the phone number and MSID don't stick afterwards.
Sorry I tried, I don't have any other ideas. Hopefully someone else can help.

My older phone is finally activated (took well over an hour for calls and data to come back to it, by far the longest I've ever seen a phone take). So at least I have a phone again.
Good luck OP, I'm going to visit a Sprint store tomorrow to see what they say. Report back in on whatever it is you try and what you find does/doesn't work.
Did you try set ril.class to HTCCDMAQUALCOMMRIL in the build.prop

I couldn't seem to find that line but I'll look for it again after work. What line is it numerically and what exactly does the line say?

Yeah, I just read through the entire thing, that line is missing. I'll add it in and see what changes.
Posting again instead of editing for the sake of the bump.

It didn't do anything. I'm heading to a Sprint store right now.

Back from the Sprint store, the rep I had happens to be a flasher like one of us. I explained to him what had happened and he got right to ordering me a new phone after a $50 deductible.
So, OP, we were both SOL. The MSID had gotten corrupted (similar to how in the early days of the Galaxy S3, it had a chance to lose its ESN) and couldn't be re-written. Only thing to do is get a replacement.
Hey all. I just got this phone yesterday and went through s-off process. Idk if the problem was present before or not, but my WiFi and 3G keep turning off/resetting. I thought it was a kernel issue but returned to stock and it still does it. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe ruu to stock?

Seems to be related to the update.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
U thought so too, but I called Sprint and the guy did something and it fixed it. It was part of the profile update. I returned to stock before calling and had to get off stock afterwards. But flashing the recovery img to twrp broke the fix.
My phone constantly booted into trying to activate, now it tries prl updates. I got my phone on Amazon, and they are sending me a replacement. Idk what's wrong with this thing

Lol, I guess it did sound like that, but in a way yea. It was actually my phone is in a constant state of not being activated. Idk if it's something I did while going s-off or what, but the phone tries to connect to 4G and there is no 4G coverage here. If I manually put my phone in 3G only, it works. I get intermittent drops in 3G followed by recycling of WiFi. When the guy at sprint had me update my profile, it auto reset. So he must have sent some special code in that update. Then it worked. So I did what anyone else would have done, and flashed a new ROM. In the process of flashing the recovery to twrp, I rebooted without flashing a new ROM and it was broken again.
So I called Amazon and requested a replacement. Hopefully it was just a hardware issue. Plus the camera had the purple bug. I couldn't take a usable photo unless it was outside during the day
Is there anyone that else having issues beaming apps or webpages to other devices via NFC after updating to 4.4.2? I get a transfer error message that says unable to transfer URL via NFC. Sprint and HTC have both said they haven't heard of any known issues... Until I updated the store demo HTC one and showed the repair technician. I guess I'm trying to find out if these are isolated incidents or something that will be a known issue.

Having the same issue here, though I did not test NFC before the 4.4.2 update. I can receive URLs but I can't send them. Sending pictures and videos works though. Running stock Vodafone branded HTC One

It worked on 4.3. On the store demo phone, we had tested it to make sure it worked before the update and verified that it stopped working after. The Sprint tech said he had submitted a trouble ticket. I also reported it to HTC and they are "going to call" me back in 3-5 days. Just curious as to how long before they fix it.

I'll let you know when mine gets fixed as well. Also, do you have any problems with audio in Skype? Just noticed I can't hear anyone since the update, but they can hear me... weird
I tested Skype. Seems ok to me. Then again I had uninstalled it and reinstalled it for something else prior to you saying something about it. Another thing I noticed with this update is that the 4G icon will disappear while on a call. I can still use data while on the call. It's just that before it let me know data was available. Now it was making me think that doing both wasn't an option anymore.

Turns out the Skype thing was because of the other device. As far as I can see, this update brought us only bad things. NFC not fully working, battery life sucks compared to 4.3... Only improvements are easy change of SMS default app and some visual improvements. I want my battery life back!
I don't have a Sprint HTC One, but after the upgrade to kit kat, NFC isn't working for me.

Does it give you an error message or just doesn't work? I'm assuming you have the NFC toggle set to on, right? Can you provide any specific details? Like does it make the sound effect at all? Any indication that it is at least trying to work?

It gives me an error message, NFC is on, and it works because it shows the error message when I touch both phones. It's very laggy, look at my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660552

Strange, that was an issue for almost everybody after the december 18th update which was then fixed in the early January update. The only resolution ever found was the run the RUU.... Which isn't available for KitKat yet...
Since updating to KitKat I have had intermittent loss of data connection while wifi and data show connected. After toggling on and then off airplane mode connection is back. Strange. On rooted stock, S-off.
