I posted a couple times in the release thread but it got lost in all the posts about rooted and unlocked versions. So has anyone on Verizon with stock moto X receive the 4.4.2 update yet?

Yes, I got it Monday about 9:30-45 in the morning. Not a soak tester, however I am registered on Motorola Connect. Just wait, it is not a big change and everything works basically the same. Chris

Are the battery improvements noticeable??
I never had battery problems before.

Yeah I just like having the latest lol but thanks for the response. Did it come to you in a notification or did you get going into settings and checking the update status? Cause that's all I've been doing.

So nothing noticeable but nothing worse signal strength same as before?
Signal seems the same for me. Camera seems better for me but who knows. Nothing really noticeable for me but I don't use exchange so I'm not sure if that bug was squashed.
I side loaded it btw didn't get the OTA.

havne't got anything yet over here! still waiting impatiently....
Woke up this morning to a "your phone has an update available" message. Downloaded itself and was waiting to install.
I did notice that I had to reboot the phone to connect to Wifi after the update, but so far everything is looking solid. Haven't checked bluetooth or NFC yet.
I got mine today too..tried to install and it failed.. I'm root using jcases method of rockmymoto and had to do it by adb shell.. Could that affect it?
Slapped my Moto
Woke up this morning to the update! After today's use, battery is definitely better.

Moto service automatically downloaded 135MB 4.4.2 OTA for me, OVER THE MOBILE DATA. I only had 300MB data for the month and am not amused that the phone just decided to download OTA by itself even when WIFI was turned off. Furthermore, I can't find any place to disable such behavior for the future. Any suggestion ?
Mine is verizon.
Thanks.

Call Verizon - they will credit you for any overages for this.

I've looked in and out and haven't found any setting that can disable such OTA behavior.
I'm actually using another carrier's SIM on this phone ---- Verizon Moto X is gsm unlocked.
What if this happens when I'm roaming internationally (with a non-Verizon carrier) ?
Downloading OTA via mobile data without consent just doesn't make sense.

If you are rooted you can freeze MotorolaOTA app or rename it.

Hey all. I just got this phone yesterday and went through s-off process. Idk if the problem was present before or not, but my WiFi and 3G keep turning off/resetting. I thought it was a kernel issue but returned to stock and it still does it. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe ruu to stock?

U thought so too, but I called Sprint and the guy did something and it fixed it. It was part of the profile update. I returned to stock before calling and had to get off stock afterwards. But flashing the recovery img to twrp broke the fix.
My phone constantly booted into trying to activate, now it tries prl updates. I got my phone on Amazon, and they are sending me a replacement. Idk what's wrong with this thing

Lol, I guess it did sound like that, but in a way yea. It was actually my phone is in a constant state of not being activated. Idk if it's something I did while going s-off or what, but the phone tries to connect to 4G and there is no 4G coverage here. If I manually put my phone in 3G only, it works. I get intermittent drops in 3G followed by recycling of WiFi. When the guy at sprint had me update my profile, it auto reset. So he must have sent some special code in that update. Then it worked. So I did what anyone else would have done, and flashed a new ROM. In the process of flashing the recovery to twrp, I rebooted without flashing a new ROM and it was broken again.
So I called Amazon and requested a replacement. Hopefully it was just a hardware issue. Plus the camera had the purple bug. I couldn't take a usable photo unless it was outside during the day

Ok so two things.
1. At least once or twice a day my data quits after receiving a call on my moto x, and I have to turn airplane mode on and back off to fix it. Had that issue with 4.2 and 4.4. I never use WiFi as I have unlimited data but it seems similar to your situation
2. My wife has a HTC One GE on AIO and has mentioned a few times that her data takes about 5 minutes to activate after going out of range of WiFi. I just assumed it was her phone but maybe it is an issue with aio.
I spoke with Motorola a few weeks ago about my moto x and they told me to do a master reset, but I never did.

I never get it again after Wi-Fi without reboot. I live 20 min from work and go from there to home with no data most the time. I like aio but not having data is going to kill me. I don't get why it works perfectly fine on the 4.2.2 but not 4.4 even when I ran the leak before official it still didn't work
Will the update still be pushed to my device..will be getting it this friday. thanks
You should... Just make sure your apns are correct.
I went through the whole process of testing the 4.4 leak, downgrading to 4.2 using rsdlite and then got the official ota for 4.4 immediately on first boot. All on straight talk. Everything went perfect =).

Sorry it took so long to respond. I do get good lte speeds with straight talk. I'm near Eugene, Oregon and the highest I've gotten was about 3 megabytes/sec. I don't recall the exact speed as I did it early on and only did once because it ate up so much data. I'll try again later tonight and give you an update.
As for the apn, I use the ones listed on their website. Before lte sims were available, there were a few alternatives for apn settings. However, since the lte SIM card change, I can only find the ones listed on the website.

Not the best I've seen but my lte speed test update is 1.3mb/s which is still pretty good.
Is there anyone that else having issues beaming apps or webpages to other devices via NFC after updating to 4.4.2? I get a transfer error message that says unable to transfer URL via NFC. Sprint and HTC have both said they haven't heard of any known issues... Until I updated the store demo HTC one and showed the repair technician. I guess I'm trying to find out if these are isolated incidents or something that will be a known issue.

It worked on 4.3. On the store demo phone, we had tested it to make sure it worked before the update and verified that it stopped working after. The Sprint tech said he had submitted a trouble ticket. I also reported it to HTC and they are "going to call" me back in 3-5 days. Just curious as to how long before they fix it.

I'll let you know when mine gets fixed as well. Also, do you have any problems with audio in Skype? Just noticed I can't hear anyone since the update, but they can hear me... weird
I tested Skype. Seems ok to me. Then again I had uninstalled it and reinstalled it for something else prior to you saying something about it. Another thing I noticed with this update is that the 4G icon will disappear while on a call. I can still use data while on the call. It's just that before it let me know data was available. Now it was making me think that doing both wasn't an option anymore.

Turns out the Skype thing was because of the other device. As far as I can see, this update brought us only bad things. NFC not fully working, battery life sucks compared to 4.3... Only improvements are easy change of SMS default app and some visual improvements. I want my battery life back!
I don't have a Sprint HTC One, but after the upgrade to kit kat, NFC isn't working for me.

Does it give you an error message or just doesn't work? I'm assuming you have the NFC toggle set to on, right? Can you provide any specific details? Like does it make the sound effect at all? Any indication that it is at least trying to work?

It gives me an error message, NFC is on, and it works because it shows the error message when I touch both phones. It's very laggy, look at my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660552
Hi!
I just got my new G Flex today (I know, a bit late to the party) and I put my SIM in and there is no service constantly. I know the SIM is not the problem because it works in other phones. I have already called my service provider and they say that there really shouldn't be anything stopping it from getting service. Also tried to reset the phone to factory settings with no positive result. Is there anything you guys suggest to do?
Thanks!

No, I got it from becextech (a website which imports them to NZ (country I live in)).
No I'm not rooted, just got it today would rooting it help?
And Yes it only goes in one way!
I am however performing a software update to see if that changes anything. Will keep you posted with the results!
Thanks!
