Does anyone know if the Samsung SGH-T759 has an amoled screen? Some reviewers(gsmarena.com...) state that it's an amoled unit others such as phonearena.com say that it's a regular TFT screen. I just need to know if this phone may suffer from screen burn in.
One more thing, has any of you tried the voodoo sound application on this device?
P.S. Since there isn't any dedicated section to the SGH-T759, I had nowhere else to post these questions.

Hi
My Galaxy S got a permanent screen burn-in after 6 month use.
After got a service, I think I got a LCD instead of AMOLED.
So, I'm wondering if galaxy s (i9000) can use LCD(probably for i9003).
Anyone know this? I'd like to complain about this.
Because, I bought Galaxy S to get OLED screen.
Thanks in advance.
anything is possible tho this sounds very unlikely to happen.
try to compare it to another SGS and see if theres a difference (and dont forget that a poor screen protector can change colors)
if u r still unsure u should send it to a lab to get it checked
Dude, believe me if you had your phone for 6 months and got a LCD display, you wouldn't be just thinking it wasn't AMOLED - you would have already sent it back for replacement. Just look at the display at a steep angle from all the sides and if it doesn't fade to white you've got AMOLED.
Would the amoled screen on the rogers vibrant s work on the T-Mobile t959 phone? I have the t959 with a cracked screen and can get the rogers phone with a bad internal SD for about 40 which is cheaper than buying a screen new and I know how to swap I just don't know compatibility anyone have an idea?
Can i putt a lcd on my galaxy s1 amoled version?
Touchscree iz broke, realy bad but still works.
So i need a new touchscreen.
And i cant find one without a lcd screen
Recently upgraded from a black S2 to a black note (which i love) then learnt of the whole screen issue (black clipping/crush)
ive trailed through soooooo many pages and seems very little evidence of anyone who has done the gamma test pattern and had a good screen
My gamma result is that i can see all the way to the number 4 and then it turns black (i have blocky grey squares for example when there is a scene change during a video and the screen darkens)
my question is is there anyone in the UK with a good screen? i am within the 28 days so i guess they would swap for a brand new note but dont want to go through the process if there doesn't seem to be any good screen units in country!
(i realise there is a member supercurio working to correct this in ics but some people saying it might be a hardware issue since other solutions are simply shifting the values in the gamma test to 6-7 so i would rather have a good screen if possible)
I think its a software and not a hardware problem, but I read the threads on this long ago. In day to day use I can't even tell about the black leveling off, so it doesn't matter to me. If I were you id just stop looking for problems in this amazing device because if you look you'll always find something wrong.

i'm with you on what you said at the end...but the blacks on my phone are more grey and if i watch videos/youtube etc its obvious (actually prefer watching stuff on the s2 and that goes against why i wanted i bigger screen)
i did specifically want to know if there are phones without the issue in the uk as i'm still within 28 days and eligable to swap the unit
regarding if it is software - people still saying the problem is there who have flashed ics though?

Samsung may just not care about it with ICS and things like that, exactly why a XDA member is working on it instead. But since you just got it you might as well swap it quickly and see if it's better. Personally on my note (it's not from the UK) I don't notice this at all, just a yellow tinge sometimes (Damn you pentile!)
Hi guys i had a Galaxy S2 but i made a bad decision and changed for a motorola photon and some cash. Now i really really hate this motorola with its pentile screen, i hate this phone every time i need to check it to answer a call or read a fb update.
I want to buy this HTC vivid phone cause it is kind of cheap on my country (cheaper than GS2) . I don't have money for a GS3 or a HTC one x cause both cost around 800 USD here .
Basically what i loved of my S2 was the amoled screen and the easy root process cause i need proxy droid to get wireless conection on my job.
So i'm just looking this features on the vivid. am i going to find them?
Thanks in advance
Edit: i know that HTC vivid does not have AMOLED screen, i´m talking about screen quality. am i going to find a similar quality of pictures and video? I don't want another crap screen like the motorola pentile :'( .
Thank you so much guys

Imo screen is great , just yesterday i compared it to a friends galaxy3 screen ..
TRUE COLOURS on vivid, excellent contrast/B] .. white is "white"
blue tint on sgs3 and galaxy note screen... seriously white aint white, white = pale bue
My screen cracked, so I need a new one. My question is, is the screen of i9000 fully compatible with the one on i9001..I have found many answers to this question, but some say yes, some say no..Did anyone had any experiance in this, and can confirm is it working or not? thx
Well i've had my screen broken once, and decided to bring it to a local repairsman, when i got it back, the frame (the side of the screen) was silver instead of black, just like the one of the samsung galaxy I9001.
So i think it could work, also because it is the same size and resolution.
Greetz
I'm wondering whether led burning is still a problem. What is your experience on your amoled device? Are the new ones burn-free? Even after 2 years of use?
I think, it doesn't exist now.
Amoled burn-in still exists, but advancements in both the technology and production process has made it occur less often for consumers.
There are still other issues to think of other than burn-in that still exists in amoled displays today. Right now, Samsung produce the best amoled displays.

Could you mention an example of such issues?
Thanks for the answers. This burn thing always kept me from buying amoled phones. I'm a 4-year phone type of guy. Still using Nexus 5.

The use of a pentile matrix (Samsung amoled) for brighter display and lower power usage at the cost of image clarity. Colours are usually over saturated but can be adjusted to your liking.
