Hi @ all
I'm working on unlocking my bootloader
and it always get stuck on this "factory reset for first bl unlock" thing
and I think it is because of missing fastboot drivers ( possibly that's why it's working
on linux distros).
When my phone get stuck and I go into device manager in Win 7
there's a fastboot device with a yellow triangle (=missing drivers),
so do anybody know how I can get those drivers?
I already installed latest LG drivers (through LG Update Tool and from a external download)
and I updated adb and that whole thing but still no fastboot drivers
Are there any drivers available for our v20A yet?
Thanks for your help in advance,
you guys are awesome

you don't need the fastboot driver simply type adb reboot oem-unlock, the official way...
send from my rooted P880

Youl'll find fastboot drivers here, in post number 17 by 'nedooo'. He attached them in his post. They worked for me!
Well I think you didn't get where I got stuck
I do the official way (or any other way) and I get into the
unlock procedure menu, then I press volume up
and it says "Download Mode" (in red) and nothing happens
but the fastboot device is recogniced in windows (without drivers).
If I unplug the usb before or after the download mode thing appears
it shows the next line (factory reset for first bootloader unlock ... please wait).
But then nothing happens
Tried plugging usb back in and power button but nothing happens after that.
So I think it's the fastboot driver

How do you install them? I run the Install.exe but nothing happens. I am running it as administrator too. And the FilterDriverInstaller.exe is in chinese so I don't think it's that one. Sorry if this is a super noobish question.
Edit: Don't. Just don't.... **** I'm retarded
Edit 2: I have the same problem (stuck on factory reset), but I can't seem to find the fastboot driver with the yellow triangle in device manager. Is it something completely else that's causing my problem?
Edit 3: Don't know why, but I now get the message Done... Now ready!
You guys need windows 7 PC to unlock the device. And make sure your PC have android fast boot drivers given by needooo installed in. If drivers in PC are not perfectly configured you can't unlock your device. Why windows 7? Known truth windows 8 sucks. You can't install fast boot drivers in windows 8
Not yet solved you must be missing something do as it is in the post.

I had problem to, to install the drivers to but i find a very easy way.
1, uninstall the LG suport tool and then reinstall it agien.
2, connect phone to computer.
3, open LG suport tool and from it uppdate/install adb drivers. (If u have drivers but maby wrong drivers uppdate, if u dont have drivers you install).
4, now u have the latest and right drivers on your device.
For me that worked very good....good luck

Few posts before yours there's a link to fastboot drivers. Just install those manually. For me those where the only one working so you should give it a try
The problem seem to be that there are different fastboot versions or something similar.

Hello I have an unlocked Lg optimus 4x hd software version 4.1.2 JB. I recently successfully rooted it but CWM said there wasn't one available for my phone on the rom manager app so i found one. I would post a direct link to it but apparently im not allowed to yet.
I realised that this was realised almost a year ago after the fact, this probably is what messed my phone up.
I installed it and ran it, when my phone rebooted it was stuck in a boot-loop. I can still access the default android recovery screen and I tried hard resets and clearing the caches but I'm still stuck on the LG logo. My computer still says that its installing drivers when i plug the phone in but it won't let me do any thing. I have looked around the forums and the solutions i found aren't helping me. Any help would be appreciated.

Access the android recovery screen, then select adb sideload.
if you can access adb mode, you can use all in one tools.

Try this way.

You just need to be able to get in S/W Mode by pressing "Vol- & connect to PC".
For a better flash try to use LGFlash Tool, look here:

Anyway, the All-In-One tool does'nt help me. I can perform the root (which is useless, because I cant even boot) but I cannot anything. I think it's because no sd is mounted.

Choose The Number :-7
Now connect your phone with "Debugging" enabled .
Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste . . .
Copying files ,, Please wait ...
failed to copy 'O4X_OR_R.img' to '/mnt/sdcard/O4X_OR_R.img': No such file or dir
ectory
sh: cat: /mnt/sdcard/O4X_OR_R.img: No such file or directory
rm failed for /mnt/sdcard/O4X_OR_R.img, No such file or directory
I can't even boot into the S/W mode. I just get a grey (or sometimes blue) screen.
Please help!

That's not a hard brick but a really bad soft brick (hard brick means you can't even turn it on in anyway).
Did you try with adb? Don't know if there's an option to but maybe you can delete /system etc. and then try to connect to lg software.
At least that's what I would do right now if you already tried every other method.
Edit: Please reinstall all drivers for the phone and the lg software manually.
Maybe a driver is incorrect (try that before the adb way)

I installed the correct drivers but nothing stays the same, when I want to list on the device adb mode does not detect it, what should I use key combination to enter ADB mode?
Try out every single mode you get into (S/W, LG recovery etc.) don't know which will get you to use adb. I for myself never had such a brick without having a backup, therefore I can't really help you at this point but try to get into adb or some recovery to install any kind of system.
Did you follow the instructions from a tutorial from XDA? Like the one for installing a kdz manually, maybe this'll work. Give it a try.
EDIT: Try the manual way to convert a kdz into a dz file as mentioned here:

See this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861942 I tried the method but doesn't work, pressing volume + and connect the usb to the pc does not detect the OMAP drivers, my OS is WINDOWS 7 Home Premium 64 bits, I think my last option is go the technic service and flashing it using a box.

Don't spam! Your problem has already been answered. You can't unbrick a developer version device (at least not with casual tools/drivers)

I need help! This is my first time I am doing this so I need all the help I could get!
I am planning to flash a custom kernel.(maybe later custom ROM,but for now only kernel) So, I know I have to unlock bootloader, install CMW and then flash. I see there are many tutorials so that will not be a problem(I hope) When I unlock bootloader I lose all my apps and data so I would like to backup it. I have TB but I am not quite sure how to operate it. Here is my explanation: I open TB, tick "Backup all user apps+system data", let it run and then what? Is there any folder on my phone that I should copy to my PC and then copy it back to my phone after I unlock bootloader? Question is, how do I backup and restore ALL of my data(apps, contacts, pictures, music, videos etc..)?
Second question is about ADB. I dont think I understand it fully. It says I have to have working and updated ADP and that is something I have to install. But I dont understand how to instal it. I got ADB in root folder for JB,someone told me that I could find it there. But how do I install it? In procedure for unlocking bootloader it says:"if you have the path to your adb defined" What does that mean? Question is, how do I install ADB and how do I use it for unlocking bootloader and flashing CMW,kernels etc..??
First part is ADB Driver

I followed the instructions and I think I already have those installed.. There was no yellow exclaimation signs, it recognized my phone as a portable device. Does this mean I have all drivers installed that are needed for unlocking bootloader?

you lose nothing by unlocking. unlocking means unlocking not wiping or reseting or formating.
adb is a mode you can enter the device. so the first time you do it , u need the adb fastboot files or the whole android sdk 32bit version. after that u can either enter adb mode from recovery option menu ,either again using adb fastboot.
the adb mode is a way to communicate with the phone using the pc. to do so , of course you need the pc to know when u enter adb mode. so for the pc to know that , just like with any device, it needs drivers. those are the adb drivers. u can either find the android drivers in the forum or download and install android sdk 32bit and inside the folder where you see the adb file ,create a cmd to easy open the cmd at that specific location.
you will need to bakup before you wipe or format all your data to install a new kernel + rom. if u only go for a kernel then u lose nothing, but u are not sure u will succeed in the first try , so .. backup them up to a cloud or external sd.
careful if u dont succeed with kernel , u will need lg support tool to restore the stock rom. if u go for a custom , u will just use same way in adb mode to install the rom.
edit: i dont know if u already have the drivers. open the cmd inside fastboot and write adb devices . if u see ur device then u r ok. try adb reboot bootloader and if it goes in adb mode then reboot and do the unlocking. dont forget the all in one toolkit. will help u now that u r a beginner in this.

I tryed to unlock with All in one tool.. I followed insructions, it started to do something on my phone and when I clicked "yes"(for unlocking) it said "download mode" and on my pc opened up a window that said found new hardwer and that I installed. I clicked cancel and in the bottom right corner of my pc it said "hardwer installation failed your device might not work properly". My phone just was stucked in "download mode". What now? I removed my battery and everything workes fine..

first thing to know , when u talk about a problem is to identify the problem and what the "machine" does. if u dont say that u followed this guide, you did that and now when u do that the machine does that... i cant say anything im not magician lol. so now whats the problem ? the phone is working and u just failed the unlocking ? u failed the kernel installation ? ?!??
u r slow extract adb , open cmd in there ( i dont know if mine works for u , because i created in linux, maybe u need to delete the cmd.exe and create new. )
open cmd there and write : adb reboot bootloader. it goes in adb mode ?!

 Ok,lets start again.. I downloaded All-in-one tool.. Opened it.. Connected my phone.. Press 2 for unlocking bootloader.. I was asked,on the phone, do I want to proceed with unlocking.. I clicked yes.. Red letters showed on the phone and they said "download mode".. At the same time, on my pc, window was opened that said "found new hardwer".. I clicked cancel and pop-up message appeared "hardwer installation canceled, your device might not work properly".. On the phone the read message was still there, nothing happened.. I took the battery out, turned my phone on and thats it. Nothing on the phone was lost but I didnt unlock bootloader.

Hello guys, is there any way to downgrade my cmw(i have 6.0...) to 4?I had the 4 version and it was very good and stable. Also i want the version 4 because i want to downgrade to android 4.0.4 aosp(now im in kit kat).Thank you.
Ps odin can NOT detect my phone(THATS THE HARD PART OF THE STORY )
Odin cannot detect your phone...?
1) Do you have the Samsung USB drivers installed?
2) Which version of Odin are you using?
3) Try switching USB ports.
4) Try using another USB cable.
1.Drivers auto install when i plug in the usb cable.
2.I used many odin versions from xda and google
3.I tried at all the usb ports of my pc
4.The usb cable is fine
Any other way to change cmw (downgrade) without odin or pc?

If u have recovery.img file then place it under the /sdcard directory like : /sdcard/recovery.img.
Now goto terminal emulator & type:

wait for a while until new line is displayed. Now u should have a new recovery.
Switch off ur phone & press & hold Home & Power buttons together to check if it's installed properly. In case u can't access new recovery, then normally switch on the phone(yes u can still switch it on...) & repeat the above procedure again in terminal emulator & now it will definitely work.
For me it took two tries to get it
Hope this helps...!!
I will try it tonight and i will tell you if that works
Thanks man!
WORKED!I love you!
