I've tried two clean installs of milaq's 10.2 nightly (the latest two)... with the correct gapp version (and tried others), but I get a no connection error when trying to access the Play store and syncing isn't working. I seemingly successfully added my google account with 2-step verification and everything.
I'm connected to wifi and can surf the web just fine. Just before this I was on some CM9 nightly and everything worked fine. This is frustrating and time-wasting. Any ideas?
I just did another clean install using the recommended install package (10.1) from the easy install guide. Same exact issue. Dunno what the heck is going on.
UGH, I figured it out. So stupid, so lame. The touchpad thought I'd entered the right password for my google account, I thought I'd entered the right password for my google account, in fact I HAD entered the right password.
But it didn't work for whatever reason (and didn't tell me the password wasn't working). I had to create an application-specific password in google account settings and input THAT password. Now it works. And I wasted too many hours.
I had exactly the same issue yesterday. It was the right password (I re-installed Android TWICE). Seems that the authentication DOES require a 'one off' password to be added to your google account security, which worked fine for me. Two factor auth has worked fine for me before. Maybe someone needs to make a note of this on the relevant ROM pages. This was CM10.2 20140303 I installed to (and I asked this question on pafe 83 I think).

noob can't use play store
Hi all, I am having the same problem. Could you please explain in noob terms how u resolved this issue? What is one off??? And how do you set an application specific password in google settings?
If your logged into google.com visit: https://www.google.com/settings/security
You then have the options for "App Passwords".
Give it a name (I just used touchpad), doesn't matter. Click generate, and it'll make you a password you will only see once.
Use that password to login to the touchpad. I had to remove my account in settings, and re add it, using this password instead of my usual.
Pain in the bum two factor not working anymore, but at least it works.

Hopefully someone can help me get the market to download apps.
Steps taken:
1. Rooted with Auto-nooter 0.1
2. Ran Auto-nooter 2.12.15 over top of 0.1 to fix some stuff
3. Market failed to download apps
4. Factory Reset - reverted to stock
5. Re-registered NC to functioning stock device
6. Rooted with Auto-nooter 2.12.15
7. Got root, followed all instructions to enable device and extras in order specified
8. Market still not downloading
Can anyone else say they are having this issue? What about a possible fix to this?
When I went to Sync gmail for the first time, my account was already in the device. I'm assuming this was because of the Youtube activation with my gmail account?
Thanks
I'm also having a problem downloading apps from the Marketplace. They show up as Downloading but never download. I searched for the problem on the Android Marketplace help, which offers the following suggestions (go to google support androidmarket and click the download issues troubleshooting page):
If your application is stalled at "Starting download", please use a few of the following troubleshooting steps to help your download to completion:
Confirm that there is connectivity on your device (contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected)
If downloading a paid application, confirm that your credit card information is up to date by logging in your Google Checkout account
Make sure that your phone is logged into Google Talk by following these steps:
Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app
If you’re already logged into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out
Launch Talk again to sign in
If unsuccessful after attempting these steps, let us know and we'll be happy to investigate further. However, I cannot sign in to Talk on the NC. Anyone having similar problems?
I followed the steps below to Root, after Rooting and Unrooting due to the Market issue:
Chose Complete action using Setup Wizard
Tapped Droid bot
Skipped Learn how to use your LogicPD Zoom2
Skipped Set up your Google Account
Selected both boxes for Use Google Location and clicked Next
Clicked the menu arrow -- settings -- Wireless & connected to WiFi
Launched Youtube, accepted ToS, clicked menu and added my linked google account
Launched Gmail and refreshed
Launched market and accepted ToS.
Well, my limited experience (i only got market able to work last night at 3 AM Pacific) taught me that even if you don't see an item downloading in the task bar, if you go to the main Android Market screen and click Downloads you'll see it there. And it installs on its own. You do see the "installed" check mark symbol though, after it's done.
For some reason, mine started working all of a sudden. I didn't do anything different since second root attempt. Maybe I wasn't waiting long enough for the download to kick off. Anyways, thanks guys.

I'm having this issue now as well. I've restarted a few times to no avail...
Was not sure were to post this, but thought I may ask if anyone has ever ran into getting a Google account disabled. I have several Gmail accounts only really use just 1 but the rest are for different devices over the years, or sites I do not want to give out my personal email etc.
But I thought I'd give my old LG G Pro some new life by flashing Blisspop CM rom. I decided since this device may be used as a remote for my TV box, throwing around, dash cam, etc I'd just have it its own Google account which I created on the phone. Downloaded some apps, and about 2 hours later pick up the phone and it says I need to sign back up, which did NOT work. So I tried on the computer which stated the account was disabled.
Anyone know what may cause this? Running Blisspop and creating the account with it? since its not stock android? something I may not know about? (downloaded Gapps from a reputable source)
I rely on some Google services heavily on my main account I do not want that comprised by the accounts getting linked.
Very secure password was used. But just found it strange.
Thanks!

I was trying to get this to work in Aus as well. In the end I could only get it working when using the ios Google Home app. Then the "Multi user" notification popped up consistently. Just make sure you set the language and region to English US.
I can't get it to work in Sweden either. US version of Home, all languages and regions set to US but I do not get the multi user functionality on any Android or ios device... Maybe they use ip number to verify location before they enables it? All other functionality works fine.
any update on this?
No success so far.. I installed a VPN on my Dd-wrt router with a US based IP number and confirmed with IP location site that the external IP is located in US for all devices on my wifi . Then I created a new Google user on my phone (without sim card) and GPS turned off. Unlinked Google home from previous user and did initial setup of GH with the the new user. The multi user funtionality came up! Success? No.. After training it with my voice it just keeps loading and never finalize the process... Grrr. Hope someone else have better luck!
have you performed factory reset on your GH before seting up the vpn connection?
i am trying to do the same WA but had no time to setup vpn on router.
also with the new features presented during google i/o yesterday i would love to have them sooner than later
I did the factory reset on the GH after the VPN were in place. I will do a new attempt this weekend with an iPhone instead. Will report after.
No luck.. With an iPhone, USA VPN on the router and factory reset on the GH the multi user setup show up directly after initial setup. I can successfully go trough all steps including training it for my voice but afterwards it just ask me do it the same setup once again... It seems like it does not register the data correctly. I will move on. Hope someone else have better luck!
Success
Finally, I did it!
I did a lot of stuff and I'm not really sure what did the trick, but I now have multiple accounts working on my device.
First of all, I have a VPN on my access point with an American ip address.
I also did these all:
Spoofed my phone and the other phone (second account) GPS locations to one single address in the US.
Set my home address on the assistant settings to that spoofed address.
Set my time zone to that zone
Removed both phones' sim cards (and put back in at some point? I'm not sure)
Factory reset the gh, and on new setup set the address to that spoofed address (all addresses the same)
At this point, it's not a matter of Google home anymore. In your phone's Google assistant settings you shall see a new section "shared devices" right under personal info section. Use that shared devices page to add a new shared device (your gh), train your voice and done.
On the second phone, go to shared devices and add a new device. (I never got the blue multi user notification during the process)
Once finished, you can set everything to normal again. Once you did the setup it won't log you out.
Good luck

Great job!
I performed factory reset on my phone and after installing google home app i noticed that the shared device option showed up. After setting up gh for my user i tried to do the same on my wife's phone but no luck, shared device and other options are missing. I then declared her account on my phone but every time i switch to her account a lot of options are missing for the app like home control, shared devices etc.
Hi guys! Google is rolling out the multiuser support in the UK... without any hope I tried with mine (I live in France) and it works here too!!... go ahead and do it quickly, just in case it is just an error from their side.
yesterday i managed to setup multi-user on my wife's phone but not with google home app as it didn't showed the shared devices option but with google assistant.
steps i performed were:
- setup multi-user on my phone using google home app. i had to go into settings -> shared devices -> add GH -> setup multi-user
- on my wife's phone google home app didn't showed shared device so I started the google assistant app -> settings -> shared devices -> add GH -> setup multi-user
i didn't used any VPN or gps spoofing, the only thing is that the language needs to be set to English US or Canada
Google Home COUNTRY ID
I cannot change country ID anyway ... Any new idea how to get full features from Google Home out of the US?
Google Home Country ID
Thx you very much
My solution
You have to deny all devices to access to location for Google Home app (1.)! All your devices must be set to English US, no other one English work (2.). You will not see to blue "multi user available" but on the other devices with other account you will see blue bar with "link account". This helped me. I suppose to restart all devices after setup mentioned above.

Thanks for the tip!
I would like to add that this may only work if you uninstall the Home app on all the devices you want to pair to your Google Home speakers before you do what Petrmenzel is writing.
Here is what i did. I assume the secondary device is another person thus another voice than yourself, and not just two different of your own accounts as google cant know the difference between two accounts with the same voice profile.
Uninstall Google Home App on all devices
Change language on all devices to English (United States)
Reboot devices (not sure if this is necessary, but I did it to ensure the language was completely changed)
Reinstall Google Home App on all devices
When you open the Home App, deny the app access to location
If you did not unpair the Home speaker on your primary device it should still be paired, otherwise, pair it again.
On the secondary device(s), you should now be able to see "Link account" as a blue bar in the device list on your home speaker, click on it.
Now it should ask you to train the voice model and all that standard setup stuff, once done you should have two devices paired to the Google home device, and you can once again allow the Home app to access device location and both accounts should stay linked.
To test that this works, simply try asking your google home "Hey Google, what is my name" and afterward having the user of the secondary device ask the same question. If it correctly states your names it should be fully working.
Note that this was tested in Denmark with a US version of Google Home, a UK Version of the Google Pixel phone as primary, and a Danish version of a Samsung Galaxy A8 as secondary

Im in South Africa. I actually had an online chat with a google representative that ended up phoning me to help me out. This is what I ended up doing:
On my phone in the Google Home app I added my wife's gmail account. I then went to Account > Settings > Voice match.... Voice Match was previously unavailable for her. Did the voice training module. Then voila, she can access her account on all our Google Home devices (5 of them). I then removed her account off my phone. Simple as that.
So this has been this way for a couple months now.
I have the At&t variant of the Axon M.
It's completely stock. Though from what I researched 99% of them are. There's only a possible preliminary twrp and I couldn't even find that when I got the device.
This happened after I put a lock password from Google security. When I got home and tried typing in that password it did not work. So I changed it from Google settings and that didn't work. So I rebooted it and.....to start Android, enter your password was there to greet me.
Nothing from any of the Google lockscreen passwords I used, my Google password, translating the lock pattern to numbers, default_password, cache wipe, etc works.
And on top of it a week or two ago there was a suspicious sign in on my Google account so I changed the password and it logged all devices off. It in fact doesn't even show any previous device that were linked in the list now.
Most threads show this as something flashing files or update issues with certain phones. There was no update or change recently except the Google security lock.
Can I adb, flash, or do anything to regain access without wiping it completely?? Any help is appreciated.
Hi,
unfortunately I had to change my password for my Google account for various reasons. Since this account was previously set up with the Googlefier on the smartphone, it can no longer be used or the new password can not be entered on it, it is not accepted. So i deleted the account on my phone because of the various error messges from all the apps which are using this account.
I still have a second Google account, which is also already available on the smartphone and which also still works. Nevertheless, I would like to use the other account also, because it is my main account. But when I try to add the main account as a new account on the smartphone, that doesn't work either ("An error occurred, we could not create the account").
Hence my question: googlefier is still installed. Can I use it to subsequently create the second account without having to reset the firmware on a 10.x version? Running 11.0.0.168 currently....
As a workaround i'm using Dual Space already, in which i can access my main google account, but thats not the "real thing"...
thx, jennix
Yes, you can, here is a very simply away:
- Uninstall Google Play Service.
- Install Micro G, then add your new account.
- Uninstall Micro G.
- Install Google Play Service again.
thx, but does uninstalling and reinstalling Google Play Service work without downgrading the firmware?

Yes, you can do it on Settings -> Apps -> Apps. (Just only remove 1 app: Google Play Service)
You don't need to downgrade or restart your phone.
Can anybody confirm if it is working.
No, it doesn't seem to work like i need it. But first, something reassuring: The smartphone will still run afterwards, so nothing will break.
But the real purpose, to bring my main account back to the device, didn't work. I have made several attempts. I uninstalled Google Play Services, installed Micro G, added both accounts (both were then visible under Vanced G account), then uninstalled Micro G, installed Google Play Services, and all that happened was that only my secondary account was available again. I couldn't log in with the main account, e.g. in Play Store or in maps, there were always error messages like "we are having problems with server communication" etc.
In another attempt, I created only the main account in Micro G, and still afterwards only the secondary account was operational in Google Apps.
I did this several times, sometimes also with restarting the phone between the steps, but it's still the case: my secondary account is working, the main account is still not there.
OK, i can live with this, but...

Because you mentioned you changed password for 1st account, so I think that you have to remove it first by going to:
- Settings -> Users and Accounts -> Google.
- Access your 1st account here, then click on the recycle bin icon to remove it.
Then you can do those steps again (Remove Play Server, Install Micro G, add account again, remove Micro G, install Play Service).

Hey @Shymmy, thank you very much. Even if it was a bit hard to follow the video because i'm not able to understand the spanish language i could follow the steps and finally: It works! Even with EMUI 11.x while in the video it's still at 10.x. So now i have again two working google accounts at this phone! Thanks again!
Does Google play Works?
Yes.
But depend on what method do you use for having GMS. I have an old one, all works; with Googlefier I think you can have notification or Google Play (freeze framework or not).
