NO. This purple tint is entirely a hardware defect. Give the phone to HTC, who will replace the camera for free if you're under warranty. Even I am a victim of this issue. My phone is currently with HTC

Nope, its sadly not a software issue. In my case, the problem was VERY bad. But, if its a slight issue for you, then try adjusting the ISO level to the lowest possible (100 if im not mistaken). It was a huge improvement, but not quite perfect.
I don't think the repair cost will be a lot though. I think its worth considering a camera replacement if lowering the ISO didn't solve the problem

[Q] Camera Problem: Dead or stuck pixels

Hi,
I have noticed that i have few dead or stuck pixels on my htc one camera. There are few pink or purple pixels that are shown on my screen while i use camera and they are on photos too so i am thinking that there is problem with camera senzor. Is there anyone else who is having this problem, and would HTC accept my claim and give me new headset.
Here are the pictures that are showing my problem.

Definitely a hardware problem. Set your device back to stock (unroot, S-on,..) and send it back to HTC!
interestingly, I was posting about a similar issue yesterday. However, in my case it's a bright pixel, I think, that only shows on camera app. Just make sure your bad pixels really show in pictures as at first I thought that that was my case too, until I discovered that, camera turned off, the bright pixel slowly fades away..

try to zoom in to see if pixel moving, if do means is a defective camera
The pixels are moving so it's definitely a hardware problem but i want to know would HTC repair my phone or give me a new one because i don't want unibody phone that has been opened.

I want to buy this phone but i`ve read a lot of comments about the camera starting to show purple/pink colour .. most people say it`s a hardware/overheating problem.. how can I now if the same thing will happen to my phone ? Is there any way to avoid it ? does it have to do anything with the product release date ? any kind of answers is welcome

The purple/pink color issue is definitively an hardware issue. Its caused by a bad camera sensor (Omnivision) on early batches. Mine is an Omnivision sensor but did not experienced the issue yet, even if know I will someday. So if the phone you want to buy is equipped with the Omnivision sensor, you'll probably have the purple issue. You can replace the sensor under warranty.

How can I check if it has omnivision or not ?

Sorry the bad camera sensor is the ST microelectronic vd6869. You should be fine with the omnivision or sharp model. You can determine which sensor you have by browsing to /sys/android_camera/sensor

[Q] [camera] pink spot

hello guys, is anyone experiencing this issue with both the z3c cameras? i've noticed that the problem seems to be partially related to the white balance and exposure and it's also a common deal with many other smartphones and tablets cameras (not just sony branded ones). i've tried with all the shooting modes possible and with 3th part camera apps as well but the pink spot at the center of the picture is still there.
i was wondering if it was a common issue (software maybe) or my unit was damaged,in this case i will give my device back to sony.
here some samples:
Looks exactly like the pink spot in my Z2 tablet's pictures.
Here is your answer:

I'm having the same issue and apparently Clove doesn't cover return shipping costs which is pretty frustrating.
EDIT: it also seems to disappear later in the day.
Got my Z3C today, no pink spot on mine.
I'm getting the Pink Spot too, but I think it only started happening after I dunked my phone in the water...

This is a common "problem" the camera app and post-processing will almost remove it. To see it go in diagnostics (you have to switch the developer mode) and thn camera, so you see unprocessed camera picture. I don't think it is a defect, most smartphones suffer from it.

Hoping that Sony will fix it somehow, as I am planning to get a Z3C too..
Have it on HTC one too. It should be the ISO value in dark

But it is related to the design of the sensor, iPhone also exhibit it some more than others but it is normally corrected by the software as it is normal.
Apparently mine does also have a pink spot, ever so slightly in my test picture:
I'm also getting the pink spot.
Has Sony officially said anything about this issue yet?
I just bought the phone 2 days ago...I'm gonna see if I can get it exchanged.

Question Green tint ? Lolz

Just wondering if the green tint issue synonymous on Samsung 2020 panels has continued its trend onto the S21U? Asking for a mate.

Hi.
Haven't noticed any green tinting on my panel yet. Even on the lowest brightness. There is a teeny tiny smidge of motion smearing at the minimum brigntness when scrolling dark web-pages, but that's about the only fault I can find with the screen so far.

I had the S20 (6 different devices). All had a green/red tint issue. The S21 Ultra has a much better display. Mine at least.

Yeah. One of my Note 20 Ultras was more green tintish than the other. I couldn’t stand it, the Oneplus 8 pro also had it slightly. As did the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Thanks for sharing your experience.

You can change the colour temperature anyway under display settings. If you get a display with green tint just turn down the green and up the red.

Cheers. It didn’t quite work that way in practice.
I had the screen show a like a green background for split second , does this mean the screen is starting to get faulty or is it a software issue? I had this phone since launch (for about 4 months now)

If it was a one-time occurence, it could be due to anything. Difficult to diagnose it based on a split-second incidence. If it doesn't happen again, don't worry about it. But if the same issue keeps occuring, then it may be worthwhile investigating.

Its a one-time thing for now, but it got me scared. especially since I am currently having another issue with the phone (its crashing and rebooting randomly).

I saw your post in the other thread. This wouldn't have been a cause of concern in isloation but if you add your reports of system crashes and erratic behaviour, there may be something serious wrong with your phone under the surface. Would'nt be the first time this has happened to someone (at least not me).
This is exactly the kind of situation warranty is for.
I cannot profess to know what you should do next but i can only tell you what I would do faced with your situation. And that is to head to the nearest service centre and explain the issue and ask for a resolution. If that fails, escalate it upwards.
Looks like I jinxed myself by creating this post before receiving my device. Since I got it yesterday it has a very aggressive green to pink tint when slightly tilting the viewing the angel. I sent it back. The lord taketh away green tint and replaced it with this LOLzzz.
