but my phone is not that hot... before it use to be hot but never shuts down..
m so worried about this.. will be replaced my phone or they will repair for free as my phone is under warranty. it's not even 1month also.
It is the heat protection of the device. Even when it gets hot very fast it will shut down for protection.

m on stock 4.1 and with doomlord kernel it happen when I went to antutu benchmark and was testing and suddenly I got the error your phone is hot shutting down... till now no issue as I have stop using that app.
Benchmarking is a heavy proces for the device. So it's not weird that the device shutsdown.
Did you Overclock it?

that time it was default... but now I have overclocked
Do not overclock it as it can do some serious hardware damage. (disclaimer)
I just dont recommend it..

yeah it common , if you play r browse the back side as well as the screen also become very hot, if install temp. app. it will show 50 oC may 60 o also some times
My device tends to heat up when I leave it on certain surfaces, like a mattress for example. It will overheat and shutdown automatically. Which is extremely annoying :/

Hey guys,
In some cases my display heats up very fast. Can't touch it for a while. Can anyone confirm that? I don't do a lot, just text a SMS or something...
Thanks in advance

Is the whole screen heated up or just a part of it (possibly only top or bottom of the screen)? What were you doing before it started heating up? Playing games while charging can sometimes cause the whole device to heat up, at least it does on my SGS.
Did you accidentally drop your phone in some water or something? That's the most common cause for such problems.

Thanks for your answer. The hole screen is heating up very fast. If I play 3d games it is usually but I just look at the time or chatting with some friends. My phone never dropped into water and I don't overclock it.
I'm on JB Rom right now but had that problem in GB and IcS too. Just wanted to ask if it is normal for 2 years old devices
My device is running great but the fast heating is wired ;/
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
While playing 3d games heating up sounds quite normal, but it should not happen when just chatting or similar stuff that does not use loads of system power :\
If you still got some warranty on it, you might want to send it to some repair center to fix it. (Remember to flash back to stock rom before doing so )
Haha my phone didn't have any warranty anymore
I could buy me another but I love the style and great support of the I9000 ! it seems like I have to live with the "heat issue" until my phone burns haha
Thanks for your advice again.

i noticed that my screen heats up quickly if i'm charging battery and if i overclock the cpu..
i just leave the phone for 15min then so the screen cools down

That would be what I would do. If it continues after that maybe look at trying another battery. Heat will affect you performance without question.

You should fully wipe your phone, including the memory cards.. Sounds like a corrupt File System to me...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
In a first step clean your cache and reboot.
Do you have CPU Sleeper installed? If yes, then freeze it with i.e. TB.
If your system´s still lagging then you should do a full wipe.
Do a quadrant standard immediate after taking a break for half an hour and keep ur device off and then turn on and do quadrant ....

keep the phone plugged in for a while .. like couple of hours.. in off condition. then try again.
What battery did you replace it with, a link would be helpful. If it was an eBay knock off, there may be a chance its a dud.

Does it even charge fine? I mean when you connect the charger does it properly charge?
you sure its the battery? What rom are your running?

seems like d battery is loosing its charge very quickly .. or supply is inconsistent.. even small current drops can turn off ur note .. clean d contacts ..if u have a spare battery somewhere check with it ..if d problem persists .. take it to d service center .. unroot it first

Most likely some cpu heavy app was still running after being divided by zero.
But myea maybe the camera got stuck, that happened to me once so who knows
