[HELP] Battery Life - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone please explain to me why I only get 7 hours of battery life? Using ViperOne with ElementalX
I've seen some people on here get 20+ hours.
Here are my battery stats thus far.

Stock kernel is in the ROM.ZIP, instead of flashing it separately (fastboot flash boot boot.img), easiest way is to just dirty-flash the ROM again.
you should check wakelocks (use Wakelock Detector or similar), to see if you have any rogue app(s) that are not letting the phone go in deep-sleep.
I use a combination of GSAM and Wakelock Detector to monitor battery usage, and you should check into Greenify to hibernate apps

You should also check GSAM, but from what it looks like, you had 1h 19min of Screen On time (might wanna consider brightness level) while going from 38% to 9% (+ whatever apps you were using... i guess a lot of music too), so it doesnt sound very strange to me.

1. Was there any process in the background that consumed battery?
2. Charge it to full, and see if u can repeat it again.
3. 5.2 version, I think, has the regular gallery 3d. Pls install the updated version using 'SGS Tools'.
I've used all versions of this ROM since 2.5 and am on 5.3 now. Never experienced this.
well, is there ANY possible way to conserve battery life, cause battery life RUNS fasttt!
D:
i heard u have to flash some kernel.. ?

Try the ROM in my signature. Even with the bundled kernel, its pretty slick and conservative on battery. And if u want to squeeze a little more, u can try replacing the kernel with the one in my signature.

Battery Consumtion issue

I have installed the program GSam Battery in order to check what apps consume my battery
After one week of usage i have seen that Kernal (Android OS) consumes around 15%-20% of battery and phone consumes 5%-7%
I dont believe that this is normal ... Any idea ?
Pay attention that phone is not about talking time . its about processes : gkisystem, rild, *wakelokc*, location, rild_tcmd, com.android.pjone, TIDrv

What rom are you running? Stock? I had the same issue running stock EU JB, but after flashing Omar's rom Android OS only consumes about 7-10%
I would use BetterBatteryStats instead to find out exactly what is waking your phone.

How much time you get after 100% battery? If phone is idle most of the time - Android System will use more %.

How to do you know that there is no app in backgroud? You do not use any chat app? You use stock 4.1.2? Did you do factory reset after going from 2.3?
When I remove device from charger after Fully charge it shows to me 98% and after two or three minutes show 96% .. etc ...

When I upgraded from 10.2 to 11/M7, the battery drain was terrible. But after going from M7 to M10, it is MUCH better.

From a clean flash?
Also, did you try using different kernel settings and/or another kernel?

I haven't kept up with the cappy's dev but NeatKernel seems popular. Check its features and see if it fits your needs (that goes for ROM as well).
Maybe flashing twice does the trick

No I didn't care for cm10. If I didn't see any improvement with the latest milestone I was going to go back to the gingerbread kernel and cm7. I would expect there to be more battery consumption with KitKat then gingerbread due to the mere work load on the processor. But its running more conservative than my dual core phone with ICS ever did even with this amoled screen.
The second flash of cm11 fixed my issues. From CWM recovery I first wiped the cash, installed the cm11 zip file on the SD, then wiped dalvik cache. After up and running I did remove some Google Apps that suck battery and bandwidth like Chrome and Google Play sound recorder (which seems to be running all the time searching for music or something).

Battery drain

I will.
Also when I start the phone in the upper left corner says: KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
thats because you are not on stock touchwiz
once you go custom rom you get that thing
you cannot get rid of it.
but that doesnt affect performance
its just a text.
if you go back to stock touchwiz rom then it will disappear

Thanks for the info.
I will try Greenify and see if the battery improves.
I installed Greenify and searched on the internet on how to use it.
After using it I don't see a difference.
What else can I do?
Nobody knows what causes the battery drain or how to fix it?
