I am trying it a bit detailed...
You do not really remove the old one, just flash the new one over it. And how you flash it depends on your image.
Zip´s (.zip) you can flash with your current recovery direct on your phone, and tar files (.tar) or the unpacked images (.img) you have to flash with odin or something similar from your computer.
Regards.

How are you going to flash CWM if you don't have CWM?
I think you're looking for this or this
This thread is god http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153167
You will find everything you need that are essentials for rooting, recoveries and roms etc. Direct link to CWM for locked BL is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187363
It's a script you'll have to run from your PC. (Incase you were thinking it was a flashable zip)
EDIT: Looks like diego beat me to it lol

nope thats not it, you can do flash it becuase you have already booted into it eg. boot into cwm flash new rom then while you are still in CWM you reflash the file to keep it, other wise if you reboot out of it from installing a new rom you loose cwm

Well... Hopefully someone can help you then.
Is it possible to install CWM through stock recovery? Or via any app on rooted phone? Or is it possible to just unpack CWM and put every file in it's place? (I know it's probably stupid, but I want to know)
isvants Commercial

CWM can be flashed through stock recovery.
1) First download this file - http://www.mediafire.com/?qadx0xhewbfm89a
2) Enter stock recovery
3) Choose apply update from sd
4) Choose the zip file>>yes
There you go. CWM is installed on your device.
CWM can also be flashed via Odin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156194
As for unpacking and putting every file in place, i suppose it can be done but what's the point?
Press thanks if i helped you.

No, basically I wanted to start TOTALLY fresh with a new ROM so I went to CWM and formatted EVERYTHING!! I was half asleep when I did it and formatted my SD card (where my ROM was saved lol) I also formatted boot, so I have no recovery anymore either.
What I'm wanting is a custom recovery I can flash using Odin.
So CWM recovery in a .tar format.
Thanks for the help!

So attached one may help you a lot. It works even for JW9! All you need to do - it's install the latest stock ROM first

But this isn't a recovery is it?
It's just a root package for stock firmware?
All I'm looking for is a custom recovery (like CWM) that I can flash in Odin so I can get a recovery back on my phone and flash CM
This on contains Root+CWM3 for stock ROM
Hey guys,
I have s3 mini. I wanted to flash 4.4 Kitkat on my phone. I needed to use TWRP recovery for that. So I removed ClockworkMod & installed TWRP.
Now,the problem is I have my stock rom(4.1.2) backed up using rom manager in ClockworkMod.
I tried installing ClockworkMod recovery using TWRP, but still TWRP recovery appears.
Is there anyway I can get ClockworkMod Back?
Plsss Help me guys!

I think you need to use the same version of cwm that you used to take the backup. Example, if you did a backup with cwm 6.0.2.7 you only can restore it with cwm 6.0.2.7 not work with 6.0.2.8, I think, got it!?!

I did the backup with 6.0.2.7. When I backup it says md5 dispatch. I have another backup saved in my computer. I copied it into the phone but no recogonized by rom manager. Is there any other way?
I meant when i restore it says md5 dispatch.
Or delete the checksum file so it will skip that

hello,
try this:
1. CWM flashes with your back up when you reboot freezes at startup because it finds the data folder or another (can not remember which) I think.
2. Then reboot into recovery again
3. flash back your backup again.
I need to flash a zip file form recovery (cerberus).
I go in recovery mode but isn't present flash zip, but only update.
There is the way to solve it ?...i don't find mod recovery for S5 Mini
Thank
Hispanico
P.S.
I root S5 Mini from this post
Without custom recovery you can't flash any zip.
(CWM, Philz Touch, TWRP )
I really hope that the Devs do something soon. :good:
Without Custom Rom and Recovery it makes no fun.
