Hello, I am on the latest RUU for the Sprint HTC one, and for some strange reason it looks like my green led is always on. It's very dim however, and I can only see it in the light. I never had this problem before. Maybe it's just the reflection of the light? It always shines right into my eye when I look at my phone haha!

I was just wondering if anyone has a fix to this or anything, or if it's just an amoled problem. When I have the screen brightness turned down, all the blacks on my screen turn an ugly brown color. Is there anyway to make all blacks overall more black? Thanks

Mine look black. Just a dirty black. You sure you don't have the SLCD version of the device?

I just double checked to make sure, and it is in fact amoled. I guess what you're calling "dirty black" is what I'm talking about. Compared to my g2x lcd screen on low brightness, everything on the nexus is brown and the g2x is simply black. Its not that big of a deal but its one of those things that is annoying me lol. Is there anyway to modify this that you know of?

This doesn't sound right. My understanding of AMOLED is that blacks literally won't even light up (which is why dark backgrounds help save battery power). Each individual LED is individually lit up. If there isn't any color on the screen, it won't light up. My blacks always seem black, no matter what the brightness of the screen is.

For example, look at the status bar (gingerbread) while you change the brightness, for me as the brightness goes down, the black starts to have a slight brown color to it. Or is my screen just screwed up? Lol its not like its major, its just annoying compared to g2x

I don't notice that at all on mine. It stays as black as it was when on full brightness. Does it still happen when all the lights are off in the room?

It happens when I'm in pitch black darkness, if there's light it isn't as noticeable but its still there

Hi. Have had this gorgeous phone for a few months now. Is it me or are the red and green LED notification lights less easy to see now?
In a dark room in the middle of the night, it is not a problem, but during the day (office and at home) I can't really see these lights at all... So I have to unlock the handset to see if I have any messages.
Anyone else?

same here but getting immune to it coz the batt the sound/music output and overall performace is class apart.bought this sleek gizmo just 3 dayzz bck simply luving it.
I agree that I find the red/orange LED a little dull, hard to see.
But the green LED is so bright and it looks so good imo. When that green LED starts flashing sometimes I just sit there looking at it :silly:
I have a kernel that flashes the capacitive buttons when I get a notification. Have a look for a new kernel

Clean the grill with a dry toothbrush small particles of dust will inevitably get stuck I'm the grill clear it out and You should notice a big diffrence in the light intensity, and also in the speakers.
yeah and make sure u use colgate to make it shine
I agree. The notification light is pretty hard to see, especially coming from a BlackBerries and then a Galaxy S3, in which the LED notification lights can be seen from just about any where.

Glad to know I am not alone in thinking this.

This seems to vary per device (possibly per rom) as other people I know with a One complain that its too bright, but for me on mine it seems (and always has done regardless of rom) very dim. In a dull room it is easy to see, but in my bright office I struggle.
Exactly, at night, I can see a faint light, but I the daytime, forget it!
One more thing I noticed, when I am charging and whilst connected to the mains, I turn the phone off, for a fee seconds the red notification light is proper bright again... Then after a few seconds it goes back to its very dim state again.
This therefore eliminates problems with the led itself and things like dust in the grill, etc.... It must be to do with the software I reckon.... Either in the system instructions or some side effect to one of the many settings in the options........ Need help please!

I used a toothbrush, maybe I need one that is firm or hard. I got a better audio from using it the the loudspeaker on the back underneath the BeatsAudio logo so very pleased with that. I can now see 1 tiny speck of light on the rear LED and 1 tiny speck of light on the front where the ear speaker is, other than that I cant get it cleaned. Any other suggestions
A few days ago I received my ONE back from repairs. I had the purple tint camera issue. I am not sure what happened, but first of all I noticed a stuck pixel when turning on the camera and covering the lens. I didn't have that before. Another I noticed, which seems strange to me, is that on high brightness black seems to have a slight purple tint. I put my old sensation and a tablet beside, it just doesn't look like black. Unfortunately, I know no one with an HTC one to check.
Can you guys tell me how your black is on high brightness? I'd appreciate it. I had to wait 3 weeks for the repair and I am not really in the mood to send it back in.

Just asking if anybody can reproduce this: with auto brightness turned on, if I go from a dark to bright room, brightness increases.
When I go from bright to dark room, brightness stays constant at the setting in the bright room.
On note 3, I read that it will only go from bright to dark only if the phone is less than 30 degrees tilted.
Can anybody test this out?
Mine dims like it should. You might have defective sensor or are using a poor made case

Sensor is working properly. I'm using the samsung case.
When I use lux, it works perfectly so I'm trying to diagnose the problem.
Looks mine does same thing. Maybe there is no enough difference between both rooms. I noticed one thing. Going from dark to bright - screen brightness increases, from bright to dark - stays the same. If I turn off screen and turn on again (in darker room) it wakes up dimmer.

For some reason, if the phone is on the table and I turn the light on and off, it works perfectly. Don't know if it's by design or what.
Thanks for checking though.

Simply stated, when i turn on the flashlight it's a yellow hue (like classic light bulbs)
I'm a stickler about this, I like daylight color (white) and hate the yellow. I was shocked when testing out my S6's flashlight to see how bright it was and everything suddenly went to a shade of yellow.
Every android phone I've had (including S5) has been a pure white led, was this design or did I get lucky enough to get some kind of defect?
is your S6's LED light yellow tinted or white? I'm honestly hoping i just have a bad phone and can go trade out
Mine is white

Mine is white as well. Just blinded myself to check lol.

odd, are either of you with t-mobile?
Mines t-mobile so maybe thats whats going on? I dont know.
Also, anyone have an S5 and an S6 they can compare to side by side? If you're just using the S6 I could see how one might not notice the yellowness
I have them side by side and tried taking pictures with flash to show you guys but the issue doesnt show up well in pictures (like i said it's not a hard yellow, but its obviously not the same as the S5/other phones daylight white)
should I take this back to tmobile to exchange for a new one?
That's definitely weird. I'm not sure what you guys would consider white or yellow LEDs, but mine definitely has a natural-ish slightly yellow-bronze look and I have no problem with that as it gives a pretty natural color.
Got the same issue, yellowish LED. TMo S6E. Man this is my third unit too. Honestly it's getting frustrating w/ how many units they have floating around with defects, although not necessarily saying this LED issue is a defect. It is strange though.
same
I got the same issue on ATT S6. it bothers me that it has a yellow tint, i'm so used to white light
Mine is white same as my note 3 and I'm with att

Got the T-Mobile version and mine has the slightly yellow tint to it, not really a deal breaker for me as long as it works. It's still plenty bright to be useful.
i m too having yellow flash so anyone contacted the service center ?
is it normal?
Can it be that you maybe color deficient? We found out my coworker was color blind recently orange and brown are the same color to him.

I come to terms that the flashlight doesn't represent the true color of the led because when I take pictures and it does that final flash it's white

Noticed the same thing!
I used the flashlight for the first time last night and noticed that it was a yellow color as well! My old phone, the Nexus 5, has a flashlight with a white color to it so I knew the difference immediately. Dunno what's up with this yellow color...

I am on Att and have the same problem. Led light is yellow in a flashlight mode as well as camera mode.

And it its defect or everyone has yellow flash?
ATT S6 here and mine is yellow compared to my S3 and doesn't seem to be as bright. Not too concerned as long as it works fine for pictures, though I did like the convenience of a bright LED on my S3.
An update all indian models 920i have yellow as far as i have seen
