Bricked HTC ONE? Wiped system! SOLVED - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
i just wanted to install a new custom and wanted to do a clean install.
But I wiped also my system. So there is no OS installed anymore.
TWRP 2.3.6 is still accessable for me but how do I get a new OS to my phone?
I tryed via adb push but it says "error: device not" found.
the same with adb sideload.
In My Windows Device Manager the HTC show up with no valid driver.
Installing HTC SYN Software again didn´t helped either
Is there a chance to get it fixed somehow?

Did you do a backup through twrp? If not you can reinstall the stock rom or any custom rom by removing your sdcard put it in your computer, put the rom on it, pot it back in your phone, reboot to recovery, then install the stock rom for the custom ROM that you want. I hope this helps. If not pm me.
By sdcard I mean external sdcard.

you should check Windows Device Manager (while in TWRP), if it shows up as: "Unknown -> One" instead of "Android ... -> My HTC" then check my guide's FAQ #2

Okay cool,
Driver is now installed and i check via "adb devices".
Can I now install just the custom rom or do I have to take a RUU?

custom ROM, sorry i linked you to my return to stock guide, but i just wanted you to use FAQ #2, instead of having to type it here again.
go ahead with adb push or adb sideload your custom ROM.

Htc one boot problem .

Hi,
First i want to apologize for opening a new thread .
I posted here first time and i saw it was a wrong place to do that .
If you have any hints please do so .
abd recognize my phone but i cant find the right recovery.img to flash it without losing any important data as pics and videos .
Thanks you .
maybe it helps :

You're S-Off, just flash a firmware that doesn't contain dzdata (I think it's dzdata that wipes partitions).
Always recommended to backup important stuff first, though.
4.06.401.2 is the latest, get the modified one without recovery and boot.img.

1- edit your post and remove IMEI and s/n
2- didnt really understand the problem, but if you just want stock recovery, it's here: http://d-h.st/OoV
from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463387
3a- if you have an OTG cable, you can use Aroma File Manager in custom recovery to copy stuff: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
3b- or you can use "adb pull /sdcard/ C:\MyHTCbackup\"
Thank you for your answers .
I tried with "adb pull /sdcard/ C:\MyHTCbackup\" and i got "error: device not found " even though "fastboot devices" works perfect .
I will search right now to repair "error: device not found " .
If not will buy tomorrow the OTG cable .
edit :
Now when i try to enter recovery from clockwordmod i got this : Entering Recovery ... and it`s stuck . damn it!
@BenPope : I did a backup from clockwordmod but right now i`m unable to boot into recovery and i can find the right recovery img because I dont know how to look for it ,there are so many
Thanks all .

Latest CWM can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> and enter CWM
note that backups & restore take close to an hour on the latest versions, alternatively you can use 6.0.3.2:
recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.2-m7--v2.img 7.2 MB
https://mega.co.nz/#!6E8RiIrQ!GF5LyhmEdg8OQJxuQVVjwSxBljxhW7xsZAHLzjVACsc
MD5: 1c6afb14db3f305b0ad7d85d5af80bef
also, the clockworkmod backups are stored in /data/media/clockworkmod/ so you would need to pull these separately:
adb pull /data/media/clockworkmod/ C:\MyCWM\
as for the adb not working, you'll need to sort that out by updating drivers, etc.; if you're on Win 8 or 8.1 there are known problems with it and solutions vary widely, best to use a Win7 machine
I`m on windows 7 .
is that right that to use ABD I need to be connected in recovery or a booted device.?
Thanks .
recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.2-m7.img solve my problem, now I just have to find an OTG cable and/or make the adb to find my device .
I think my SD is empty because I dont find any files on my phone
S*it happens .
I`ll keep you updated .

adb works fine in custom recovery, if you're having problems with drivers, uninstall everything starting with HTC, then reboot, reinstall HTC Drivers, the latest I have are here:
HTCDriver_4.8.0.002.exe 15.1 MB
https://mega.co.nz/#!TAcGAJ7L!YdWM4AIji95b1ow8kVgagggOx5Yh7csRN5G0KJaCo6w
while in recovery, connect your phone and it should set up correct drivers, if it doesn't, then go to Device Manager and manually choose the driver. (ie Update Driver -> Browse -> Let me pick -> Android USB Devices -> My HTC Version 2.xxxxx)
My phone is alive on stock rom right now .
I ll try to recover some data with test disk because it`s empty !!!
I will post how i solve it .
Thank you guys .

[q] no os in htc one

Hi ,
i have a HTC ONE mobile phone, few days before i tried to install cyangonMod but unfortunately due to faulty USB my installation broke up.
so i ended up with no OS installed on my HTC ONE. later i searched out the forum and rooted back to the ROM as it was.
i founded links for the RUU zip files to install but since my phone is not linked with any operator, i have no clue which link to use.
my friend suggested me a link which was
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4
when i try to install the zip using the following commands
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4.zip
i received following error
sending 'zip' (1010948 KB)...
OKAY [ 46.936s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking
FAILED (remote: 12 signature ve
finished. total time: 133.252s
I have been trying all different ways but so far no solution.
could any one help me get back to my Android please
if my question is not clear or need any explanation please dont hesitate
Thank you in Advance

You need this RUU, and because its a downgrade, you will need to s-off first and then flash hboot 1.44. After your phone will be back to stock 1.28.401.7 and you will receive ota to latest version. Follow this procedure and don't forget to thanks the OP for his awesome guide :good:.
The other option if you don't want/can't s-off is to use this rom (guru reset). this is the stock rom for your version, and you will be able to update ota after. Instructions for guru reset can be found here

The first solution didnt work cause since i have no OS in my HTC so adb functions are not working, since adb functions are not working so i cant do an s-off
The second solution: i dont know how to get the zip file inside my phone cause i cant execute adb sideload, is there anyother way to trasfer the file to the phone or is there any other way of executing it guru reset.

Boot your phone in TWRP recovery, dont select any option, just let the phone boot in twrp main menu
then:
Code:
adb push name_of_guru_reset_file.zip /sdcard/
then in twrp select install, chose the .zip and follow instruction in aroma installer.

[Q] sprint htc one struck in bootloop while flashing ruu

I bought a sprint htc one m7 couple of days ago and brought it to india.. it has
-stock 4.3 rom
-hboot 1.55
-bootloader unlocked
-s-off acheived using firewater
i was trying to sim unlock the phone... but after flashing this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586704 ruu... its struck on htc logo.. all help appreciated... im a bit noob in this subject...
i would like to also share that while flashing ruu the phone got ejected from the system and now i cant access the intenal storage...when i try to do adb sideload it says "device not found"...TWRP recovery also does not shows my internal sd card.. and i hav ordered USB OTG cable to try and flash it from usb drive..is this way safe and will it work?? is there any way to fix this problem??
thanks in advance..
EDIT
i tried USB OTG method but the USB wont mount at all it shows USB-OTG(0MB) and usb-otg mount failed
and the phone goes in fastboot mode when i try to connect it to pc...
please help me out...
thanks in advance:crying:
First, which version of the one did you have like m7wls m7vzw or like which m7? Did you cross flash ruu's??? That could cause lots of issues if you did that.... Only ruu's specifically made for the phone will work, also when trying to ruu, were you running the exe or zip?

You don't find it in windows explorer... Its a command initiated through cmd prompt where your adb and fastboot is..... and actually same for when in twrp, look i will show you mine....
Code:

List of devices attached
My Serial No... recovery
Preston-Ball:Main files and scripts prestonball$
That is just in the main menu of TWRP, nothing else....
now lets say you wanna push a ROM.... just do..
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /location/where/you/want/ROM
Then for the fastboot USB... With fastboot getvar all
Code:
Preston-Ball:Main files and scripts prestonball$ fastboot getvar all

If you are trying to flash a Sprint RUU, use this thread: Bad Boyz RUU. It's the latest RUU, and I've used it myself. I've wiped my internal storage on accident and on purpose and was able to get my phone up and running using this.
Your phone is not showing up using ADB because you currently have no operating system, same for the USB OTG. Make sure you are using the stock cable (or a high quality replacement). Best of luck to you.

Sorry just got to my computer... but Good device is found, all drivers are installed good then.... Okay now time for the RUU... We're going to try a RUU first and see how good it works, okay?
Here is the RUU file.. http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22926241640219526 Download the zip, place it in the folder where your ADB and fastboot is. Once you have it downloaded and in your ADB/fastboot folder,
From fastboot you need to first re-lock your bootloader
fastboot oem lock
Once locked it will boot back into bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Now your booted to the black HTC screen. Make sure your Rom.zip file is in your adb/fastboot folder
fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
This takes a couple minutes and you will most likely get a error
(pre-hboot update: please flush immediately)
Make sure device is still in ruu mode(black HTC screen). If not rerun
fastboot oem rebootRUU
now simply reflash the rom.zip
fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
Let it run and it should finish this time
It will reboot to a fully stock build.
just remember, anytime you get a "flush immediately" error, just make sure your still in ruu mode and reflash the zip.
The most common error is typically
(Error 155)
You did not re lock your bootloader first
-go relock and flash again
More than likely the first time you flash it, it will not work, it usually takes twice for the RUU to go through.. I did copy this from another forum post. But it worked when I have ruu'ed my phone. Do you just wanna go to stock? Or another ROM, if this doesn't work we can load a ROM... .-.

thanks for the info....but i have see many others who have got adb sideload working... and i have got an aftermarket USB OTG cable...are there different RUU's for HTC one like 3.0,1.29.4.0... which one will be suited for my device??
The one that I sent you was for your device, pretty much you would take it, it would return you back to stock. Take a OTA, have the newest radios and unlock again. But if you want a new ROM, you don't even need adb sideload... I've never gotten that crap to work... -,,,,,,,,,- but there's also different RUUs, they all do the same thing pretty much. But if you want to use a ROM. Go into Mount in twrp and what are you options?

You should be able to do that its just downgrading then upgrading radios.. I would say, take the ruu. Take the latest ota, or unlock and root for that sim unlock, then take a ota, Which I think you would have to then unlock again or flash the radios via recovery since your s-off in the form of a zip. Then take your ROM put it on internal SD card, wipe everything but Internal SD card and all that crap, then flash ROM and correlating GAPPS.

have you checked the MD5 value on the rom to confirm its not a bad download?
Wipe everything from recovery then format data, reboot recovery,, push the rom again and flash it. then flash the stock recovery so you'll be able to install the next ota update.

THe phone will not be detected as an MTP device when booted in recovery.
You can use adb push or sideload when booted in recovery and your phone should be detected as "Android USB Device ---> My HTC"
If not, you have drivers issue and you'll have to install HTC drivers.

Help!!! I erased OS completly of my HTC One M7 T Mobile with TWRP

I need help, I just got this phone and was unlocking bootloader and starting to root and then I was trying to erase cache and delvik and didnt see that system was also checked, so I accidentally erased the OS and I am struggling with the command line. My device is not being recognized when I type adb devices, I did manage to get fastboot getvar all info. I cant do adb push command and I dont know what rom to install, whether its stock or custom. As I said my bootloader is unlocked but The S is Off. I am going crazy tryna figure it out. I thought maybe I should update my recovery but Im stuck even on that since my device isnt being recognized. I read through a bunch of forums for the same issues but most are international or different carriers. This is the first time I really had an issue with unlocking and rooting. This command line is killing me. Someone please help

OK first thing your TWRP is a very old version. You should update that first. If you hadn't wiped system flashing a rom with that twrp would have you in the same position with a soft brick anyway. Also the latest version allow MTP in recovery so you won't need to add push
Use this one for now http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-m7.img
Were you planning on flashing a custom rom. Or did you want to keep the stock rom?

I want to flash a custom rom. So then how do I flash the new TWRP?

Same as you flashed the other twrp.
Download the .img copy it to your fastboot folder. Connect fastboot usb in the bootloader then in the fastboot command window type
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery "name of recovery".img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then from the bootloader menu select Recovery. You can check it's the new version as the top of the TWRP home screen.
Then go to "Mounts" and there should be an option to enable MTP. Activate it if it's not already. Then you should be able to access your internal storage on your PC as if it were booted to Android. Copy your chosen rom and flash Install it.
If you still can't get MTP or adb to work you may have a driver problem.
Open "Device Manager" -> select the unknown "One" -> right-click -> "Update Driver Software ..." -> "Browse my computer" -> "Let me pick" -> "Android USB Devices" -> select "My*HTC*..." -> install the latest in the list.

Can I piggyback on this thread? I was running a ROM, did an "advanced wipe" in TWRP, erased everything (including "Internal Storage") and of course this erased the OS, so I used adb push to put the exact same ROM's flashable zip file back on the phone and tried re-flashing. But now I get stuck on the boot animation. More than half an hour.
Also TWRP is taking a long time to load now (3 minutes or so?). Did some partition get corrupt or do I just need to be patient and use a different technique?
Yes, I know TWRP 2.6.3.4 is out of date but honestly all I did is wipe things, the same combination of ROM and recovery was working before I touched it today!
S-OFF, unlocked, superCID etc. So I have options.
It's been quite awhile since I touched this phone - apologies if this is a newbish question..
You can always try exactly what I did. It worked because my TWRP was old. What have you got to lose? Just download from above link and type "fastboot flash recovery Name-of-file.img" and it should flash the new one on and go to mount then tap disable MTP and then press again to enable it, that reloads basically. Then plug it in and it should show on your pc, place rom in phones root and then exit and install rom. It was simple although your S is Off so there might be a different way.
Ok I'll give it a shot..
