This all started because I have been trying to get the Directv Now app to work with root. I started by wiping completely and then loaded the newest firmware then flashed twrp recovery. Then Magisk v9 then phh superuser r266-2. Installed Magisk manager and ph superuser app and then flashed systemless xposed and installed the app as well. And then turned on magisk hide and selected directv now and superuser and rebooted. I finally have directv now working!! But I am running into an issue with titianium backup saying your su binary is functional but might not work. tried to uninstall apps and it says successful but upon reboot its still there. I think I just need to update the binary but phh superuser does not have that option. Any Ideas?
Firstly i have installed twrp recovery. Then I flashed superuser zip file it asked me to update binary . then i flashed updated super su zip . and now it is not starting. it is not booting . i think i have bricked my device what should i do now

There's something not right in your statement. Either you misstated it or misunderstood it.
There's a difference between Superuser and SuperSU. The SuperSU is a superuser management tool. When you stated that you first installed Superuser, it tells me that you installed an app named Superuser. The Play Store does have one or more app's with the name Superuser in it.
If you stated Superuser, and meant SuperSU, then your issue may be a version conflict between the first and second SuperSU installations.
Keep in mind that the SuperSU zip is the same thing as the SuperSU free app from the Play Store. So if you can flash the zip, then I'd advise you not to install the app from the Play Store and flash it instead.
Also, keep in mind that the SuperSU Pro, from the Play Store, is only a Key that unlocks the Pro features within the free version. So always install the free version (app or zip) BEFORE installing the Pro app from the Play Store.

The same thing happen to me. After installation of supersu (moto g4 ) the phone can't boot in android (only in fastboot)
Installed manually, trying to reinstall via the direct install method results in the manager crashing.
Installing modules via TWRP fails as well.
The error given in Magisk Manager is that it can't extract the zip.
Hi!
I have a C435, bootloader unlocked, twrp and rooted with magisk beta 16.3 (manager 5.8.3).
SN passed and all work like a charm!
But after the last update (b152 full) my manager is blocked on v5.8.0 and magisk on 16.3, i not able to update magisk on 16.7 or manager 5.8.3... and SN check say me "invalid response" (but passed, my bank app work..)
If i try this (update), magisk crash immediately and all my apps requiring root also crashing..
I try clear cache, clear app data, uninstall package but impossible to update magisk or manager to the last version..
Ty for helping!
Hello,
I have Magisk 20.3 and Magisk Manager 7.5.1 installed (OnePlus 7 Pro) and want to update both.
However, any manager app before v22 only allow me to update the manager and not magisk itself.
Any versions after v22 does not allow me to update from 20.3 as they dropped support for versions lower than 20.4.
How can I update magisk 20.3 without loosing data ?
Thank you,
Note:
I tried
Magisk Manager 7.5.0, 7.5.1, 8.0.0, 8.0.7 → only offer to update the manager
Manager App 22.0, 22.1 and later → do not support magisk 20.3
Device: OnePlus 7 Pro, Oxygen OS 10.0.3
Is there a way to update magisk manually?
Same question. I have version 7.5.1, and just attempted to update magisk manager via the prompt within the app. The manager app then prompts with "upgrade to full magisk manager to finish the setup" when I next try to open manager.
Tried:
Uninstalling Manager, reinstalling 7.5.1, and this prompt ""upgrade to full magisk manager to finish the setup" persists, even after deleting all data.
