hello, i have the verizon non DE moto x. im currently on 4.2.2, when i upgraded to 4.4, had battery fast drain and heating issues, also, when hotspot was enabled, my bluetooth, while on a call in my car, had static noises. i wanted to see about unlocking my phone and upgrading to 4.4.2 and wanted to see if anyone experienced these 3 issues while on 4.4 and if after the 4.4.2 upgrade they are gone. thanks

I have a T-Mobile Xperia Z 6606, when the 4.3 update originally rolled out I promptly update, once I updated everything was fine until I went to work. Once I got to work I found out that I could not send or receive text messages nor could I make or receive a phone call. If I rebooted the phone I would have a small window of time that I could call out, or receive texts that had been sent earlier and I never got, or send a quick text out, but after a minute or so it would stop working again.
Now I have never had great data reception inside my work building but I never had troubles with calls or texts until the 4.3 update. I would also keep getting a notification that I needed to sign in to the T-Mobile network, and the 'H' by my signal bars says H+ on the 4.3 update, prior it was only ever an H, and it sucks my battery dry. After a 12 hour day I would typically have 25-30% battery but with the connection issues my phone dies around the 10 hour mark.
To attempt to fix the issue I download an unbranded 4.2 rom and installed it on my phone, and after that my phone went back to working as normal with no issues. I was consistently getting update notifications to update OTA to 4.3 so last night I decided to give it a go and finally update to 4.3 once more hoping maybe it was the T-Mobile rom that had an issue, but no go. Even the OTA non branded rom has the same issue.
Does 4.3 use a different radio than 4.2? Is it possible to use a 4.2 radio on 4.3?
I love the 4.3 version as it make my phone run so much better, but I cant use it when my phone is useless at work. Anybody have any ideas what could cause this or how to fix it?
Hey guys!
I have a problem on my unlocked Moto X (1058).
After the last update (4.4.3), my GPS is losing lock everytime. I'm used to use my Moto Assist on my Moto X to listen any incoming message and call, but after this update, my GPS shows my location almost 1 km far from my home and, due that, Moto Assist is not working properly.
I realized this issue happened only with "High Precision" mode (the one that uses 3g and wifi, found in Settings > Localization) activated. "Only in device" mode shows my correct location, but I can't use Moto Assist like this.
It wasn't happening with 4.4.2. Do anybody have any idea of what it could be? I have already cleanend some apps caches, full reset, but the problem keeps going on.
I'm kind sorry for my english.
Thanks,
I have an unlocked XT1053 on 4.4.3 and use high accuracy with the gps on in Location. I had difficulty initially getting Assist Home to work, but finally got the home location set. I took about a half mile walk one evening and after returning home, Assist still didn't work. I turned off the phone for the evening and when I started it the next morning, Assist started working all by itself. It has been flawless since.
Even I am having GPS signal issues with my X updated to 4.4.3
Sent from my XT1053

Hmmm I am having GPS issues too. I am on Verizon with a locked boot loader and write protection disabled. NOTE: I have NOTE updated to 4.4.3 but i did get the new version of assist the day before I started having problems. However, uninstalling Assist did not fix the problem. I talked to Verizon and Moto and neither new of an issue.
Anyone know whats causing this???
Hi, I am new here if I am in the incorrect thread or the issue has been mentioned really appreciated to know the link.
I just got a Nexus 6 (new) everything is working fine until I did a call. I would hear a lot of static and crackling. Sometimes it would stop, but it would come back. I know it shouldn't be my network since I upgraded from a Motorola X 2013 model and didn't have this issue. The newest OS I am running on is the 5.1.1 android. I know its not the speakers since I watched a video and that didnt show the issue. Its basically via phone calls. I am running on the T-Mobile network. Would this be a hardware issue, software issue? I am concern since I just got the phone if their is a fix really appreciate it.

well, it very well could be your local network. try a different tmobile apn, thats all i could recommend. the moto x is a different phone, and you probably were using a different apn.

Sometimes when you are in between two lte towers they can conflict and call quality can significantly drop (in also might be local t-mobile issue).
The easy fix is to go to Settings --> More --> Cellular networks --> switch off VoLTE
It does put phone in HSPA connection mode, but for most part it's good, if you don't watch videos...
I believe it's the whole volte (as mentioned by monster Mary) I lowered it to 3g and I did a call not a single static will update if their is still issues thanks for the helpful feedbacks guys.
I have had a Z3c for a while, however I haven't used it in some time because I was using Verizon. I recently switched back to T-Mobile and performed the Lollipop upgrade. It upgraded fine, however now my WiFi and Bluetooth will not turn on. I have seen a few other people report this issue, but most just say they ended up sending it in for repair. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and had any success in fixing the issue? I have already tried downgrading to previous versions with no luck.
Hi,
I recently updated my T-Mobile HTC One M9 to Nougat. It is not rooted, unlocked, or modified in any way. After the update, I noticed two issues:
1. When on a call, speakerphone seems to fail about 95% off the time. The person can hear me, but I can't hear them. If I turn off speaker phone, it is perfectly fine.
2. If my phone screen is turned on, sometimes I cannot hear calls. I am 90% certain this only happens when connected to bluetooth via my car.
Long story short, I had this phone replaced a few days ago due to the vibration motor no longer functioning. The replacement arrived with Android 6.0. I confirmed speakerphone worked immediately. I then proceeded to install a plethora of updates until I was back on the latest 7.0 version provided by T-Mobile. I did not install any third party apps. I am experiencing the same two issues above. I think similar issues were occurring on the Nexus 6P, at least in regards to speakerphone issues after Nougat updates.
Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? Anyone have a fix?
I currently disabled VoLTE (Voice over LTE). My first speakerphone test worked - so we'll see if that is the temporary fix for now.
